I have been to this restaurant about 4 or 5 times since moving to the area in 2013. It is my favorite breakfast spot in the Aurora area. The food is always really good. I usually get one of there breakfast scramblers. They are HUGE! They cook all their food really well. The portions are really big as well. I have gotten a to-go box a couple times because I couldn’t finish it all. I have never heard anyone complain about this place. There is usually a line so make sure you come early. They have a really talented wait staff. It is an overall fantastic experience at the Double Yoke! 5⁄5

This place is very clean, cozy and I like how bright it is in there. The service was great and everyone was friendly. I ordered the country fried steak with scrambled eggs and upgraded my pancakes that came with my meal to French Toast for $ 1.50. The eggs were perfect, gravy was good as well but the French Toast was eggy and pretty dense. My friend got the burger which was over sized, the bun fell apart and it was cooked well done(they didn’t ask how he would like it cooked, which would have been medium rare). The bacon that came on the burger was unfortunately flavorless. I understand a breakfast place not having the best burger but I definitely expect the bacon to be good! Overall, a nice place with a great atmosphere.

Really great breakfast place! Everything I’ve tried is fresh and cooked the right way(not greasy at all). It’s a clean and comfortable environment and the staff is excellent. I’ve been here several times(I like a cooked breakfast on the weekends AND I like being lazy :) and I’ve never had a bad experience with the the food or the staff. That level of consistency is soooo hard to find. I’ve not had anything other than breakfast but the lunch menus looks tasty. If you’re looking for a great breakfast spot give this place a try.

This place is a hidden gem for breakfast. Great food, great service and reasonable prices for the amount of food you get. My wife and I ordered the French toast and country skillet. The combination in the skillet was amazing while the Texas French toast much more than we could handle. It was a party for the tastebuds!

Los Angeles breakfast joints need to visit the Midwest to learn how it should be done! –Plenty of parking –seated quickly –coffee & hazelnut cappuccinos –biscuits & gravy –corn beef hash and it’s Real(not from can) –eggs cooked just right –bacon crispy(perfect) –toast just right –seems great for kids –priced right –friendly & efficient service(5 stars!) Any dislikes? –A bit too much onions in my corn beef hash That’s my ONLY complaint and that’s just a personal preference. This place borders on 5 stars.

Very good food. I can’t believe I’ve been coming here so often and so long that I never reviewed it. I usually get breakfast food like the hungry jack omelet, the French connection and the chorizo skillet and all have been very tasty and big portions. Just watch out for their chocolate peanut butter french toast… very good but waaay too sweet. But I also like their lunch as well like their chicken sandwich and panini. Although their breakfast food tastes better. You won’t leave here hungry! All the staff is very nice. Even on a busy day which is usually any Sat/Sun morning, you can usually get seating within 15 mins. Also you can get discount certificates on so the food is a great value. Try them out if you’re in the neighborhood.

Solid breakfast and lunch place. I’ve gotten take out here several times and I have also eaten in a few times. The servers we’ve had are wonderful, attentive, and nice. It always makes me happy when the server goes out of their way to make your toddler happy while dining out. The place has always been super clean, including the restrooms. I think my favorite thing would have to be that they offer biscuits and gravy as a side instead of toast or pancakes! I love this! Now, they don’t have anything on my homemade biscuits and gravy, but it is a really nice change every now and then. I love the breakfast burger! If you can’t decide, believe me get this and you won’t regret it. Also love the healthy items they have available. Coffee isn’t anything special in my opinion, but it is worth it if you want some. Just not the best. Overall this is a great breakfast and lunch spot. I highly recommend!

I went here for breakfast with my wife and daughter. The food was delicious, the atmosphere had a great diner feel with oldies music played at a perfectly enjoyable level, and the service was prompt and friendly. My 3 year old was complimented for her behavior and the server went out of her way to make my daughter smile. It was fantastic. Just writing this and thinking about the experience we had makes me want to go back. I really enjoyed it here and am looking forward to going again.

This is my new go to place for breakfast food. This breakfast restaurant is right by my job, and they have good food, and great fruit. They’re still not as good as Niko’s Breakfast restaurant in Romeoville, but i will definitely be back here, because of three things. 1. They’re customer service was good 2. The food was good 3. The price was reasonable.

I’ve had everything from their skillets to home made corn beef hash, to their lunch sandwiches, panini’s and coffee. Just about every single thing on the menu is good. Always a pleasure to go here. I am recently disappointed with the new menu though– not with teh choices– but rather the price increases.

This review is not about the food. The food here is pretty tasty. Our omelettes were fresh and our server was friendly. However, when we got our bill, we were upcharged a dollar each for«large» coffees. This made no sense. They own the café next door, the businesses are connected and diners are eating on either side of the french doors. They should have put our coffee in a regular mug and brought it to us. Instead they served it in LARGETOGO cups and upcharged us a dollar each. Not what we asked for… Then, we were also up charged for 2 sides of gluten free pancakes. No where on the menu does it tell you there is a fee for gluten free this and the waitress did not tell us either. It simply showed up on the bill. We would not have each ordered a gluten free side because our main meal was the omelette. We simply wanted to try their«gluten free». When I brought this up with the hostess, she said they have received this feedback and they are working to update the menus. She said the waitress was, «new» and that is why she didn’t tell us. So… no menu listing, no warning from the waitress and we paid an extra $ 2 per omelette which is 24% of the cost of the entire menu item! So, overall we were up-charged $ 6 on the entire bill. Which is not a fortune, but on a $ 30 meal that is 20%, which is completely ridiculous. The hostess went to talk to the owner and he didn’t care, he was unwilling to modify our bill or apologize for the confusion. We won’t be back. This is not the service, we are looking for. It’s not worth the hassle for a $ 30 breakfast!
We went in on a Saturday morning/afternoon. Brunch time, maybe lunch time. We were seated promptly and received our drinks quickly. Our meal was good and we were in and out within an hour. Attached is a gelato shop which we would like to try at some point. The name behind«double yolk» is if you ask for 1 egg, you get 2, 2 eggs, you get 4, etc. So I guess if you want 3 eggs, you have to ask for 1.5 eggs. On a side note, this restaurant is on , so you can save some money that way.

The hubbie and I had a great experience at Double Yolk! We set out to grab brunch at a place nearby that we haven’t tried yet, and this place was a winning choice. It was about noon on a Saturday and the restaurant was pretty full but we still got sat right away(in a comfy booth too!). Our waitress was very helpful and efficient. We had coffee flowing right away and she even made sure to grab some decaf for me(trying to cut down on my caffeine intake). The menu was huge and had everything you could want for breakfast or lunch. Making a decision was HARD. Especially since the menu had so many delicious photos of the food and I was super hungry. I ordered the avocado omelet(which included bacon and mozzarella) along with hash browns and a side of pancakes. It sounds like quite the hefty order I know, but the sides were included! It was all super delish. Hash browns were on point and the skillet was made to perfection. Plus, all that food was only $ 8.95! What a deal. Of course I ended up taking home half the omelet, a little bit of potatoes and a pancake — all of which made great leftovers minus the omelet due to the avocado getting brown. Joshua B(husband) enjoyed the country skillet topped with biscuits and sausage gravy. I stole a few bites off his plate and I am definitely a fan of the biscuits and gravy, that’s for sure. But then again, who isn’t? We’ll definitely be back to enjoy more of their menu! Pro tip: They’re more than happy to give you a to-go cup for more coffee :)

Really great food, large portions and reasonable prices. We ended up here this morning after M whined that he was hungry. I suggested Double Yolk, and after he reviewed the menu and salivated over the pictures from Unilocal,we made our way over. Upon arrival, we encountered a 15 minute wait, not bad at all. After our number was the called, the gentleman at the register thanked us for our patience and told us to enjoy our meal. We were seated in a cozy booth, but next to the window, it was quite chilly. Not a big deal, but come winter, it may have been downright uncomfortable. However, the back corner booth gave us a great view of the entire restaurant, so that’s a plus. Shortly after being seated, our server Betty arrived to take our drink order. We both chose coffee and ice waters without lemon. She returned with our beverages and we ordered: the Country Skillet for M(eggs over easy with biscuits and sausage gravy) with english muffin for the carb-inducing side) and I chose the Philly Cheese steak sandwich(no mushrooms), with curly fries and the soup of the day(Cream of Chicken and Wild Rice). As much as I wanted a beautiful skillet breakfast, eggs have made their way into my «can’t eat this anymore without severe repercussions» list. I don’t care for pancakes, waffles, crepes, etc… so I have pretty much given up on breakfast foods. Looking around, the restaurant is modern, clean, and smaller than most breakfast places, but you can tell it is well run. Busboys cleared tables immediately after patrons departed, servers keep the coffee flowing, and the attitudes of the employees were very pleasant despite a busy morning breakfast rush. My soup arrived quickly, and I quickly dug in. It was thick and full of flavor. This tasted homemade, and not some nasty, preservative filled Campbell’s garbage. The chicken and rice were amazing. I could have eaten a bucket of this stuff. A few minutes later, our food arrived and M immediately said«Oh man» as a mountain of food was placed in front of him. I said the same(but silently) as I stared down at a delicious Philly cheese steak sandwich with the most beautiful curly fries I’ve seen outside of Arby’s. We dug in. My sandwich was amazing– a bit greasy but the slightly toasted french roll kept the juices from escaping for the most part. The fries were incredible: perfectly seasoned, good crispy exterior with a soft potato-y interior, and were piping hot. A few slices of crinkle cut pickle were also provided, and they tasted way better than store-bought, jarred pickles. I only managed to eat half of my meal, but M was bound and determined to finish his enormous skillet. I was certain he’d be successful, but he gave up with about a quarter of it left. Betty brought us some boxes and our check, and thanked us for coming in. After settling up with the gentleman at the register, we(slowly) made our way outside. I’m definitely impressed with the food and the service provided here(Betty was amazing!) I’ve known about Double Yolk forever, yet I can’t give a good reason as to why I haven’t been here until today. The prices are fair, the atmosphere enjoyable, and you will absolutely leave here in a food coma. We will be back!

Brunch here was great! The restaurant was very bright, clean and modern. We got a nice comfy booth in the corner. There were tons of options on the menu. The food was good, the service was good, and the checkout went ok. I asked the cashier to split the bill on 2 different cards and she nodded like she understood, but in the end the entire bill was put on one card. Crazy Monkey Waffle $ 8 — I was impressed with the Crazy Monkey Waffle. The combination of waffles covered in delicious peanut butter sauce topped with bananas and chocolate chips was perfect. I’m not even a huge PB fan, but there was just the right amount of PB here. Eggs Benedict $ 9 — These were pretty good. Nice sauce and eggs were done right. Large fresh squeezed OJ $ 3.50 Side of Bacon $ 2.50

I tried Double Yolk on a recent trip to Aurora to visit friends. We were looking for a kid-friendly place that had a good selection of breakfast/brunch items. Double Yolk fit the bill. Although they looked very busy on first glance of arrival, we were surprised to find out the wait was only around 5 minutes. It seems that they have recently acquired the space next door, which has opened up additional seating for them. We were greeted quickly by our server and was asked for drink orders. They had the usual selection of breakfast type drinks. Now onto the menu! They had an extensive breakfast menu with a little bit of something for everyone. If you want to get allot for your money that doesn’t skimp on quality, then this is the place to go. The omelette that I tried was delish. It came with a choice of hashbrowns or fruit and a choice of 2 pancakes or toast(tons of varieties of breads). If you leave Double Yolk hungry, then you must have a huge appetite! I couldn’t finish my entire order! Overall I would recommend Double Yolk! They have quick service and good food with great pricing. Try it out the next time you are in Aurora!
