Let me preface this by saying that I want to have better things to say about this restaurant. I like independent places and this one has been here a long time. That being said, I found much room for improvement. The menu is really confusing to read as they have all these odd names for their dishes. On one page they tell you that they include menu items from other restaurants! They say the DEVIL made them do it(the DEVIL being letters made from names of the places they ripped off the recipe) Odd… I was also struck that they have 3 «benedict» dishes on the menu but none is an eggs benedict, just strange variations. After digging through the menu I found that they make their own corned beef hash! I love a good hash. It comes with two eggs and the menu doesn’t say it but it comes with choice of toast too. I wish the menu had mentioned it was served as a skillet. It arrived as a pile of fried potatoes topped over by corned beef with fried eggs on top, the toast balanced on the handle. The corned beef tasted great but the dish was overwhelmed by the amount of fried potatoes under it. It would have been better if they cooked the potatoes with the meat. My guest had a Lookout Mountain omelet which was huge and was stuffed with ham, they also come with toast though the menu does not say. The staff seemed out of steam, not overly energized and actually seemed kinda indifferent. I watched 3 bus girls standing waiting for people to leave but my coffee empty. The server only checked back to drop off the check without us asking for it. I had considered one of their«famous» cinnamon rolls but changed my mind partially based on another Unilocal review that said they taste microwaved and sealed by the early check drop. I really want this place to pick it up because they have no real close competition, but the price tag is high for a tired menu.

Had to wait to calm down to write a review. I will never visit this restaurant again and honestly, I don’t know how they are still in business. Went a couple of weeks ago for breakfast. The menu is hard to read, everything is called some sort of stupid name. You can’t scan and find a ham and cheese omelet or biscuits and gravy for example, everything is a blue bonnet or a not-a-skillet. I don’t have extra time to waste literally reading every menu item detail to find something. The service was mildly unfriendly, but it’s a diner, what can you expect? Ordered 2 coffees, a small milk, kids pancakes, biscuits and gravy and an omelet. 45 minutes later we still hadn’t gotten our food and we had obligations to attend to and couldn’t wait any longer. My husband and son went to the car and I went to the counter to pay for our drinks(no sign of the waiter since ordering, no refill on their horrendous coffee). The waiter told me my stuff would be done in a minute and I could just take it with us. That is not the type of food to be eaten in a car! He argued with me for several minutes before«allowing» me(his words) to pay $ 11.50 for bad coffee and 5 oz of warm milk. Yeah, no thank you.

I have frequented Dozens twice in the past three weeks. Their food is delicious! The primary menu is limited to eggs, omelettes, french toast, pancakes and a few sandwiches thrown in for the brunch crowd. This should be taken as a plus as they are really focused on dekivering a delicious meal. Each serving was more than expected. The quality of the ingredients used is FRESH! For once, I was able to get fresh jalapeños in my omelette. No random canned food here! Try the green chili, not much spice but very flavorful for the old folks with sensitive GI problems. The asthetics and service feel very hometown’ish. My drink was filled throughout my entire stay and the wait staff was very friendly. Price is fair and about $ 15 – 20 with a meal, extra side and a drink.

It was Sunday and we were leaving denver. We tried 2 other places they were too full no seating. Got here and we waited 15 mins. Well worth the wait. I had stuffed french toast with fruit added it was delish. My husband had waffle with strawberry and whipped cream. He loved it. Great service.

Usually pretty busy, but good service and great food! There aren’t many local breakfast joints in the area, so it’s nice to enjoy one of the best nearby. As indicated by the name, it’s mostly egg dishes, but they don’t disappoint! My favorite are the anothernotanomlette, their cordon bleu, and their Belgian waffles. Coffee is delish, too. Seriously, on my list of top Aurora favorites!

This has been a «regular» for me since elementary school. The atmosphere and dining experience in totality can’t be beat for a Sunday brunch; menu item names have clever Colorado-y names, and the large booths are extra cozy. My favorites are the biscuits and gravy with the delish fried potatoes, and the Belgian waffle(although, I’ve strayed from the latter after realizing I could make one at home for pennies). If you want good comfort food, try out Dozens. The fifth star is absent only because the prices are a bit on the high side. Eggs can’t be THAT expensive for restaurants to buy!

I’ve been here enough times to see this location go through some pretty poor changes. This was my last visit. The service has always been just passable. Get ‘er done. No smiles. Meh. The have a new menu and the food is now overpriced. Plus, they nickle-and-dime you with upcharges for everything. For example, if you order an omelet, it comes with mushy potatoes and bread. If you want something better, like fruit or vegetables, it’s $ 3! It’s just so… classless, especially if you are already paying $ 12 for an omelet! Coffee is ridiculously overpriced, too. If I’m to pay Starbucks prices, I want Starbucks coffee. The food is slightly better than alright, if you know how to order it. The coffee is what I can only refer to as «diner» style. The atmosphere is outdated and divey. Used to have a nice patio. The patio is now not worth it. Crappy little wobbly plastic chairs. They are so bad they posted signs all over saying they have a weight limit and not to rock in them. You know what? Get real chairs! Honestly, for a $ 15 omelet, I’d rather go to Snooze.

Dozens is inconspicuous from the outside! I live nearby and have driven by it many times, but never thought to try it until I read the Unilocal reviews. It would always pop up as a nearby breakfast/brunch spot so I thought I’d give it a try. Treated my mom and boyfriend to Sunday brunch; food was just OK. My mom ordered the Imagine A Great Omelette, which is their version of the Denver Omelette(green pepper, onion, mushrooms, ham, and swiss cheese). It was your average omelette but pricier. I had a hard time finding omelette options with meat and ended up ordering the Northsider(that included sausage) but it was just doused with tomatoes. I had to pick some of the tomatoes out because it was overpowering. I ended up with an extra ‘side of tomatoes’ from the pile I made. For the omelettes, there is an option for half size that says it’s the same portion as other breakfast spots(like Denny’s, Village Inn, IHOP), so it’s a little cheaper. But to me, the portions here didn’t seem much bigger than the usual — since I ate it all! Hah! I’m just a sucker for breakfast foods/brunch spots. My boyfriend ordered The Stock Show, and together for three omelettes and three waters, I spent $ 55 on breakfast. Ahh! Not what I expected. I do like the neighborhood cozy feel of the place though! And the menu is cute with fun, sassy descriptions. It feels like your at home in mom’s kitchen. But it ends with a slap in the face when mom charges you $ 50+ for your egg breakfast!

I love a good breakfast. I like a lot of choices, I like fresh food, and I like not going to chains. Dozens fits the bill on all of it. They don’t have their espresso machine anymore so you can’t get cappuccinos and such, and their coffee really isn’t that good. That said, there are a lot of things to love about Dozens. My children absolutely love their hot cocoa, served in a huge mug with lots of foam. They have fresh squeezed juices and a variety of other great beverages as well. Every day they have several varieties of fresh baked muffins that are baked on premises. They are also known for their gooey cinnamon rolls. Their entrées are named for Denver landmarks which is a nice touch. I usually end up getting Here’s Your Aspen, which is an omelette with tomatoes, avocado, and feta cheese. They have a lot of good omelettes that don’t have a whole bunch of cheddar cheese all over them, which is good. They even have a real seafood omelette with real crab, not imitation. Hard to find here in Denver. I love that you can have any grain with your breakfast. Toast, muffin, or even a pancake. They have a lot of vegetarian options although there is a lot of bacon and other meats for the carnivores. The service is always really quick and very polite. They have a rack with Westword there which is always nice if you’re dining alone. You can’t really go wrong here. Give it a try.

The girlfriend and I ran out of food and this was the closest place. We didn’t have any trouble parking and were seated right away on a Sunday at 9. The server was extremely nice and mad some recommendations. We ended up getting the Fritatta and Colorado Cordon Blue. Both were excellent. The Cordon Blue was a bit messy, but nothing a few napkins couldn’t handle. I would say the value is average, the food is good, the service is excellent. 4.5 stars

On my recent visit to Denver, we decided to go to Dozens for breakfast around 9am on a Saturday. Although it was busy, we were seated right away outside. The cinnamon roll French toast came highly recommended and it was amazing! So sinfully sweet and buttery– omg. To offset the sugar rush, we also split up a spicy burrito and Aspen omelette. Everything was very good. The service was also very quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend them for breakfast if you’re in the area!

I live about 1800 miles E of Dozens, but when I’m in town to visit family, we make it a point to have breakfast here. I like that they make boring comfort food more interesting without going too far. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for in this case. I’m a bit surprised at the negative coffee remarks from others — maybe we got lucky?

One of the best breakfast burito’s I have ever had. Nice spice to the great chili. Will be coming back to try the biscuits and gravy.

My breakfast was great . The order came hot and it tasted like it looked !! My service on the other hand was lacking attention. I asked my server 3 times for milk for my coffe, by the time she brought it to me my coffee was cold. It took her 5 more minutes to return with a fresh cup of coffe… I’m sure she just was have a bad day. It won’t make a difference in me returning… We will be back …

I still love Dozens but prefer the downtown Denver version. The menu is the same, the décor is a little more charming in the old house downtown than it is on Havana and the pasta salad was a slightly different recipe than the downtown restaurant. I go to Dozen’s just for the pasta salad. It was still good — but instead of the dry texture, this location used oil and vinegar and it made it too soggy for me. I tried the Golden Triangle which was good. I was full all day.

Always on the hunt for good brunch places, I came across this restaurant on Unilocal. Most reviews were people complaining about the atmosphere, the hard to read menu and the slow service. I figured I would check it out and get my own opinion. Really glad I did. They are wrong. First off, the atmosphere is country style. It doesn’t need updating. Although the menu is a bit difficult to read, it is something original. At least they aren’t plain Jane like Denny’s. The service was not slow at all for me. The waitress was super friendly and helpful with suggestions. After I was eye balling this ladies dish next to me, the waitress suggested I get the Blue Bonnet Sonnet smothered in green chili. It was fantastic and I had plenty of leftovers since their portions are huge. I give this place 2 thumbs up and I will be back over and over again.

The hostess/waitress’ first words at 1:30 when we arrived were«you know we close at 2 today», then semi-rushed us through. I thought it odd that they have a pre-printed in wooden sign that says«we’re closing at 2 today, Sorry for the inconvenience«. If they want to closest 2 on Sunday, just advertise that, don’t rush me for your isn convenience. The food was good, fast and hot as usual.

Very solid food even if you do not like eggs. Love the service, food, and the atmosphere. It gets 4 stars plus because they do breakfast and lunch and know how to cook food.

I had the omelette with crab and shrimp. I was very impressed that it was real crab. It had a little too much hollandaise sauce but still good. Next time I will definitely try the pancakes.
