R.I.P El Lucerito. I will remember you fondly when I visit. I sure hope the second location is as good as this was!

I’m a total loyalist to El Lucerito. It doesn’t hurt that it’s 5 minutes from my office, so an easy lunch spot. Great family owned business, quality food, good service, very reasonable. We order our Christmas Eve tamales and enchiladas from them every year. Love the Carne Asada, Chili Rellenos, and pretty much everything else.

The one on Peoria and Parker is a bit old but the staff is very nice and the food is really good. Best green chili on the planet… very gravy like and quite warm. They have recently opened El Lucerito 2 on Chambers and Iliff which is newly decorated and very cute. The food there is WONDERFUL! IF you try the fajitas or the Steak Ranchero burrito you will fall in love. The chili is FABULOUS!!! The staff makes you feel like you are one of the family. Prices are mostly in the $ 8-$ 10 range but the portions are large. They also make a mean margarita with top shelf tequila. Once you go there you won’t be able to stop going.

Dad and I went here to pick up some tamales to take with us over to Dry Dock Brewing. We got a red chili smothered tamale and a green chili smothered, along with the homemade tortilla chips, salsa, and guac. Everything was DELICIOUS! The tortilla chips were hot, fresh, thin, crispy, and perfectly salted. The tamales were some of the best I’ve ever had. Great texture, flavor, seemed like quality ingredients. Good customer service, the price was right, and food was made quickly. We were very happy and definitely recommend.

My husband and I have been coming to this spot since we moved a couple of blocks away 7 years ago. I would have to say we have been here over 100 times over the years. I have NEVER once been disappointed in the food or the service. I’m so happy to see this local establishment growing. It looks like they have hired several new staff members over the past year or so because they are busy every time I come in. Even though for the first time last weekend I had to wait for a table(because they were SO busy) it was totally worth it and brought a smile to my face!!! Keep up the good work.

Lucerito is the restaurant my wife and I frequent most often, owning our own café we hardly go out to eat, when we do this family run gem is our choice. This place always hits the spot, and the fact that you can have dinner for 2 under $ 20.00 is awesome. Consistent good food, awesome prices, and a humble operation(they will get to know you and what you like, and there isn’t 4 other ones with the same name) make this place our favorite Mexican restaurant in Denver.

Been going to El Lucerito for over three years. By far the best green chile I’ve ever consumed. Prices are very reasonable. Menu items muy muy authentico. Great service. It’s all good. Have a sopapilla or the fried ice cream for dessert! La comida aqui es excellente.

Do you want a Mexican restaurant that gives you a lot of bang for your buck? El Lucerito is the place. On the fringes of the King Soopers shopping center near Parker and Peoria, this intimate eatery has been wowing folks with its sizable homestyle dishes for many years now. I like the Carne Adobada — a hybrid of Old and New Mexico whereby pork is marinated in a rich, slightly spicy red sauce, then simmered until soft and tender. The enormous Good Rico Burrito(action-packed with huge amounts of cheese and potatoes) is a treat too. Wash things down with one of their yummy Aguas Frescas — Horchata(rice and cinnamon). Jamaica(hibiscus), Tamarindo(you can probably figure that one out) or Piña(pineapple). You’ll find that each of these delicious drinks are suitably quenching. El Lucerito is always packed with regulars enjoying a good meal and after one visit you’ll see why.

There are quite a few people in my office that say they love Mexican food and that this place is the best around, so I tried it a few times for lunch and I have to disagree. The place is a little scary looking from the outside, but I thought by the packed dining room, it must be good. But I think the food is on the bland side. I like my Mexican spicy, and there wasn’t much spice at all from this place. One of my favorite things about eating Mexican are the beans and rice, and again, they were just bland. There is much better Mexican out there, especially in this city. I wouldn’t waste the time or money on this place.
