L A Tan

The LA Tan on Eola is my favorite location. Clarissa is always super helpful, and so knowledgable on all the products, beds, and other amenities this location offers. This store is by far the most spacious and sanitary. They’re constantly running great specials on products as well as tans and spray tans, so you know you’re getting the best deal always. Definitely come to this location over any of the others in the area.

2^nd time at this location. Both times I have had Clarissa as my consultant. Absolutely great service! She knows what she’s talking about when it comes to lotions and directed me to what to tan in. I’ll be stopping by more often when I’m in town.

Spray tan machine is ALWAYS DOWN. If it’s not down it will tan your right hemisphere 300% darker then the left. I found out about Fox valley tan and haven’t been back to LA tan since. Not the cleanest bathroom here. No soap in the dispenser one time which grossed me out. I have been walked in on before by a maintenance person (2years ago) as well. It was likely my fault I thought the door locked but how did the front desk girl not apprise him what beds were in use. Disenchanted with EVERYTHING about this place but I just went here for necessity.

To be honest, I don’t condone tanning. I realize the harmful effects it can have on your skin, but I also know tanning beds have come along way.
For most of the year I try my best to have great skin care practices, however during those dreary winter months I sometimes need a little Vitamin D pick-​me-​up and a 12 minute vacation on my make-​believe beach. Hense, L.A. Tan.
In the winter I usually go a few times a month and only on their $ 5 Tuesdays (which includes bed levels 1, 2, & 3). Every time I’ve gone (usually between 9am-​1pm) there has been no wait and I get in a bed right away. The staff is super friendly. My favorite bed is the level 2 bronzing bed. It’s not super strong, I never get red only a little bronzed, and it’s just enough fake sunlight to get me thru a blizzardy week.
My bug-​a-​boos:
— No coat rack or shelf to put your clothes and belongings on in the tanning bed rooms. All they have is a miniature stool which is definitely not accommodating to all my belongings and layers of clothes I have on in the colder months.
— No mirror in the tanning bed rooms. Call me crazy, but I like to see the bronzing level I just achieved when my time is up. I’m also a pretty busy gal and tend to have somewhere to go right after tanning, so it would be nice to have a mirror for freshening up.
Moral of this story, LA Tan gets the job done and it’s in a super convenient location for me. You’ll still find me poppin’ in on $ 5 Tuesdays when the sun is absent and Chicago is cold.

This place has come a long way! My favorite bed is their level 4 bronzing bed, my color achieves such a deep dark bronze… and it lasts for days! They also have the Red Light Therapy which is amazing for the skin (acne scars, discoloration, brightening) Also. the Versa Spa! Always clean, friendly staff. Definitely recommend!
