This is one of my go-to’s on the East side for Mexican groceries. I cook a lot using dried chiles and the selection here is better than most stores in Denver. You can also find cheap produce and many items not available in the gringo grocery stores in town. it’s coming into tamale season and so they have specials on corn masa, husks, lard, chiles, and even the large chingadera steamers you need to make the dozens of gift from the gods packages of tastiness that are tamales. De nalgas.

The first time I went here I was very excited because they had Goya products, but since then I have found some other stores that do as well. Also I have learned to make my own chemical free versions of most Goya products. Lowe’s Mercado reminds me of C-Town, partially because of that rotting meat when was the last time they cleaned the meat case smell, but Lowe’s Mercado just doesn’t have the same magic. They also don’t have frozen Jamaican Beef Patties. I could have sworn I saw them there one time or somewhere I saw them somewhere at a grocery in Denver. Good sandwich rolls.

Store was clean and prices reasonable but the customer service and attitude of the cashier was deplorable at best. If I could give zero stars for the review I would. The cashier’s were talking and acted as if the customers waiting in line were interrupting their conversation. The cashier that we ended up with continued to peel her orange instead of ringing up our 1 item until she was done. Then had the nerve to not speak to us for the entire transaction. Seriously not even to give me the price. First and last time we will ever shop here.
