My husband I just got married here. The location is beautiful and great for a rustic themed wedding. I hardly had to lift a finger because our wedding planner from the venue took all my ideas and brought them to life. We catered through them as well and the food was so yummy! Best Mac & Cheese I’ve ever had. Our guest said this was one of the best weddings they had ever been to. The entire staff went above and beyond for us. We stayed in the Royal Suit and enjoyed a great breakfast the next morning. I have nothing, but good things to say about MD Resort. I plan to go back just to enjoy a relaxing get away.

My husband and I got married here! The b&b owner set us up with a pastor and took all our pics with my digital camera(which all came out blurry. LOL). While waiting for the pastor, walked the grounds and played ping pong in their rec room. From what we could tell, the guest rooms were very small. We decided not to stay the night there, but as far as wedding services… the owner was AMAZING!

I myself am a Certified Wedding Coordinator, so I can put together a Wedding from beginning to end & literally have… over 300 of them. We live @ 4 hours from MD Resorts & heard about this place from my sister… she & my brother-n-law eloped there 5 years ago & had nothing but great things to say about their experience. We found out later that Management had changed hands since then. Our thought was this would be a great way to have an outdoor Wedding while minimizing the stress of putting it together, decorating, cleaning up, etc. Don’t get me wrong if you’re looking for a quiet, in the country, peaceful get-away this is a great place. The rooms are nicely decorated, beds are comfortable, food is great. But we paid big $ for a Wedding & Reception package. We kept it small… both sides close Family. I worked over the phone & through TONS of e-mails working on every detail from the big to the very tiniest. They told us it would be a certain way on numerous things. We’d agreed on the theme, they knew our colors & we were very excited to see the outcome on the decorations & set up. We traveled & arrived the evening before. I gave the«Wedding Coordinator»(I use this title loosely)…well I gave her my box containing our unity candle set with crystal holders, engraved cake topper & matching toasting glasses, etc. that we specially picked out, purchased & brought with us. She said that she’d take care of these special items & be setting them up for the wedding the next day. We’d also brought with us fresh flowers(Boutineers, corsages… these were all very clearly labeled as to who they were to get pinned on) & my bouquet. In the e-mails before coming I asked if they would be pinning these items on & they said yes. We put these in the mini fridge in our room then took them to the«Wedding Coordinator» the morning of the Wedding, except my bouquet which I kept with me. So time for Wedding… in our Wedding box was also 2 CDs with our 3 special songs, Notated as they told us to(when it was to be played, how to fade in/out…it was very simple). We were told they had a great way to play music. So I come out of the main building, still have to walk over to Wedding area… she starts the song when I walk out of the building(I’m no where near the isle) so of course we are walking ½ way up the isle in silence… wow. And their«great way of playing the music» is a lady sitting in a chair toward the back holding a cd player, in the middle of everything, I literally walked right past her :/ So I get to the alter area & notice the decorations are NOTEVEN our colors! Omg then in pictures later discover they used the same colors on the chairs! We go to light the Unity Candles & they had SO obviously been thrown in the holders, they weren’t even straight. Ok so on to Reception… we had paid extra for the nicer table clothes… we got old, plastic, cheap patio chairs & paper for table clothes & the decorations were horrible! We also paid extra for our wedding cake table to be a «catered» table which means there would be a nice decoration, full service… silver cutting utensils, nice table clothes, etc. Well, we had the silver cutting utensils BUT they had left over tape from decorations from another wedding(tacky) the tableclothe was only on the front ½ of the table & some of the clips were hanging very crooked. They set it up right by a utility pole, so we had to work on that not being in pictures. We also paid for a coffee service to be out on that table for the full 4 hours… that never showed up at all! We paid & had a catered dinner… Joe(my husband) & I had to regularly ask the staff to refill drinks, ice, salad dressing, etc. as we did not want our guests to have to ask. And I closely watched, we were not running low on these things because they were too busy too keep up, each time we asked they were standing there. We also had to ask for forks & napkins for the cake. All of this was paid for & we should not have had to ask. One of the things that upset me the most was before the Wedding… they did not pin on the Boutineers & Coursages!!! I got to the alter & my Groom had not gotten his. I carefully planned these pieces. After the Wedding, before more pictures started I asked the«Wedding Coordinator» where they were… she replied«oh they are still in the storage room, do you want me to get them?» So she got them, my Mom & I pinned on as many as we could before I had to go for more pictures. I found out later 1 of my sons got his. And when we checked out the next day my other Son’s & both of our Father’s was still in the box :( When I told them the following morning everything that had gone wrong, she said e-mail a complete list to them & they would make it right. After getting home from the honeymoon, I did that… several e-mails up to 2 months after & heard nothing back. We will always cherish our Wedding Day & don’t want freebies, just fairness. Just don’t see that happening.

Attended a Groupon Murder Mystery Dinner, the staff are all wonderful and super friendly and accommodating. The mystery itself was quite elaborate and everyone had a character to play, some were more involved characters. Just make sure that you receive an email in advance of attending the murder mystery dinner that gives you your character and some clues as to how to play your role in advance. We did not receive the email with this VIP information and we were so lost as to what to do or expect when we arrived. This really made it difficult to participate in the event. About ½ hour into the event one of the ladies in charge asked us if we had our character information(probably because we were so lost and not really participating because we didn’t know what to do!) she quickly went and printed off our character information and got it into our hands. She was very apologetic and yes having this information was KEY to the experience. Actually having it in advance so you knew how to dress and all the clues you needed to know for your character was VIP to fully enjoying the experience. We would definitely go there again to do it the right way. Hence the reason for us writing this Unilocal review — to help everyone else out there that goes to this event or one like it to know in advance that you need to k ow up front that you definitely need all the character info and the story line before you head out to the event. The food was okay, don’t go there really hungry expecting to have a good meal, its really more about having a unique fun experience than the food.

What a wonderful trip! Just a great bed and breakfast with warm and friendly staff, quiet, clean, and well decorated rooms on a really beautiful property. I really enjoyed walking around an feeding the animals, the donkeys and horses in particular are very friendly and the buffalo is pretty funny. I loved coming here and when I first got there I didn’t know if I’d enjoy it but ended up completely loving it. Great quiet getaway with good food, great rooms and a great setting. Would come again in a heartbeat.
