Prairie View Orthodontics is top notch. They worked with my insurance without a hassle and the initial exam was thorough – which is to be expected. Getting pictures of your mouth for an assessment requires a little bit of manhandling and should be expected. Is it uncomfortable? Of course it is! I think the last reviewer doesn’t have a realistic expectation of what the process is. I went to 3 different Orthodontists for opinions, 1 of which was going to put braces on my kid now so he could«get it over with” – this assessment came from someone who didn’t manhandle my child, because he didn’t even look in his mouth. After careful consideration I chose Dr. Zimmer because she was straightforward regarding the treatment my child was going to need to accomplish the results we were looking for. She is accomodating when a bracket breaks or a wire moves and is uncomfortable. I appreciate the fact she expects the kids to take some responsibility in their own dental health and hygiene. We like Dr. Zimmer so much, my other child got braces and so did I. I recommend her to everyone I know because she is not an orthodontist who’s just out to fill her client list and pocket book, she has the best interest of the child in mind.

I cannot recommend this practice, ESPECIALLYNOTFORKIDS. We went for an initial consultation with my daughter who is very dentist phobic and anxious. The nurse manhandled my daughter when she wouldn’t comply, and Dr. Zimmer was far from patient and understanding. Even told her to ‘act like an 8 year old’. Seriously? She’s 8, therefore she is acting like an 8 year old. Sheesh.

Dr. Zimmer sincerely cares about her patients. I am very grateful to have been paired with a true professional. Her staff is friendly and very helpful too. Dr. Zimmer takes the time to speak not only to the patient but the parent as well. It is a great feeling to find a doctor who truly has the heart to take of their patient.
