The owner/staff are friendly and attentive — this is crucial in any restaurant or business! Our order was taken promptly and the food was prepared quickly(two different noodle bowls — Bun Thit Noung etc… I was satisfied and found the food to be good. When the bill came there was an upcharge for switching pork for chicken, but the manager quickly removed it after understanding that a substitution was agreed upon by the server and myself. Bonus points for quickly resolving this!

Not bad for phở with either little or no msg, but prices are higher and bowls are smaller so we probably won’t be going back.

The service here has always been decent; the staff running it are nice. The phở has been inconsistent, I have to admit. It can be a little oily and the flavor sometimes not as well-balanced. The bun(rice noodle) and rice bowls are a good variety for those of us who do not want phở. Honestly though, there is nothing really that sets this place all that apart from other Viet/phở restaurants besides the fact that it is the closest to Anschutz. It’s ok.

Phở is subpar compared to all the other phở places

Clean restaurant with pleasant décor, very friendly staff, and a menu with many options other than phở. The broth was excellent with a good balance between spices. The rare steak was plentiful and cooked to perfection. This may be my new Vietnamese restaurant of choice in north Aurora. More variety and cleaner surroundings here which are definitely welcome. I will be back to try the steam rice and noodle bowls next.

It’s too bad the dish I had was so oily because I don’t think I’ll ever come back again! This is one of the only close Vietnamese restaurants close to my house that serves more than just Phở so we went. I had the grilled pork with eggrolls on top of noodles. They served the dish with thicker noodles than usual and the noodles seemed over cooked. The fried eggroll that was served with it was so oily. I would not pay $ 8.50 for this dish again! The bf ordered the Phở and he didn’t mind it but he did complain about not having enough vegetables. He even asked for more and the server never brought it out! So, I was not too pleased with their service.

After the big Unilocalapalooza event last night, I was in no mood to make myself a lunch this morning. So I hopped onto good ol’ Unilocal to steer me in the right direction. And lo, Taste of Saigon, which I’ve been meaning to try, popped right up. With the glorious review by Mary Jo, I knew I had to finally try ToS. I was slightly surprised that the place wasn’t super busy, as I’ve been told it can be during the lunch hour. I was seated quickly and promptly ordered the steak phở. My small bowl of phở was out within minutes(good? bad? I’m not sure) and I immediately started slurping everything down. Seriously, I must be the most noisy phở diner in the world because I can’t eat it without slurping and making a bit of a mess. I am getting better with the chopsticks though! I really enjoyed it! Granted I’m still a complete phở noob, but if my taste buds do not protest, but rather, thank me profusely for the delicious phở gracing my palate, what more needs to be said? I’m excited to add another great phở to my list of lunch destinations. A tasty bowl of phở for $ 5.00 at a friendly, local establishment? Can’t beat that!

I was very happy to see a Phở open over on this side of town… closer to where I where I work. They have a great location near the Children’s Hospital. I ordered the meatball Phở and my DH ordered the chicken. Firstly, the broth was pretty clear, I did not taste the beef base really. Secondly, the noodles were overcooked, and continued to cook in the scalding broth at the table… I had to hurry to eat it. The meatballs were the standard, but cut quite thick. I personally have grown accustomed to the thinly sliced meatballs that are better suited for eating with chopsticks. We were only given a small plate of basil, bean sprouts and cilantro for two orders. I dropped one of my thick meatball chunks on the floor. I decided to pick it up… I got a good look at the entire floor. Yuck. They needed to sweep and mop. So yeah… I will go to the Phở on Havana from now on. :(

Very good! Tried the phở with round eye steak, the broth was amazing! The«Bun Cha Gio» Egg roll rice noodle bowl was very good. They used vermacelli rice noodles(new to me). Also tried the Seafood Phở, awesome! Try the vietnamese coffee, its fantastic.

This place feels nice enough but I can’t really recommend the food. The phở broth is rather murky with bubbles of fat swimming all over the place. Their brisket wasn’t well marbled and had large layers of fat, resulting in a chewier than desired texture. Overall, the broth flavor was okay, but the texture was off-putting. My wife went with a rice noodle bowl(bun) which was decent except that the eggroll tasted like it was fried in old oil. On a positive note, the service was pleasant and they played Weird Al’s «Like a Surgeon» while we slurped our noodles.

I found them by accident, as well… so happy I did. We stopped there today with an out-of-town friend, fresh from the airport and a long day. I’ve enjoyed their savory, authentic, non-MSG phở on a number of occasions. They make me feel welcome every time, no matter how many people are there. Today we shared a sandwich(WOW!), a noodle bowl(again with the WOW) and a bowl of phở(so much better than the weak broth at Phở Yo yesterday), and I finished off with an iced coffee. Already I am happy. THEN, I go out to my vehicle and discover 1) it is locked 2) my keys are inside. I have four kids with me and one is sick. Fortunately, while we waited to be bailed out, the excellent folks at Taste of Saigon welcomed us back inside. We hung out for an hour and they brought us more water and some FABULOUS French bread. SO kind. I am even more impressed and it felt more like a leisurely afternoon with friends than an enforced wait. Please reward them with some business. :-) They are very close to Children’s Hospital in Aurora on Colfax.

Great food! I really liked the marinated brisket in the Bun-Rice noodle bowls with egg roll. The phở we had was very good too with a rich beef broth. The spring roll was a healthy appetizer choice but the rice paper that it was wrapped in was a little chewy — my only complaint. The regular egg rolls were crispy and very good. The prices were very good — the three of us ate to our fill for under $ 20(without drinks).

Serendipity.“the effect by which one accidentally discovers something fortunate, especially when looking for something else entirely.” I was looking for a quick escape off Colfax from the construction and turned in front of this new Phở shop. Somehow my car turned into the parking lot and I thought I would go in to scout it out and pick up a menu. I am a Phở virgin and wanted my fellow Unilocalers to teach me the ways. Inside were three delightful ladies(all good friends) and they were spray painting and glittering 3D Styrofoam letters spelling the name of their business to put above the kitchen. They warmly welcomed me in and the four of us chatted about their new business and how they took a chance to open a Phở shop in the midst of all the taco carts and fast food places, but they convinced me that«everyone needs a change». I liked these ladies and how proud and excited they were of their business, I just had to try their Phở; this type of pride is usually carried out in every detail. They wanted me to sit with them and they knew this was my first time. I had the beef broth with tofu just like my fellow Unilocalers told me I could. The broth was so clean and flavorful tasting with a hint of cinnamon and they helped me jazz it up with sirrachi sauce. Then I started adding the tofu, noodles, onions, lime squeeze, jalapenos, bean sprouts… I have read all of your reviews and knew the more the merrier. It was so good and filling and for only $ 5.00! So I went out on my own for the first time. I truly enjoyed the Phở and the experience and if it was not«the best», then I don’t care because my first time was with three Vietnamese ladies very happy to serve a Phở-virgin. As the Taste of Saigon’s tagline reads, it’s Pholicious.
