Sunbrook Academy at Barnes Mill

My daughter has attended Sunbrook since being an infant. My are extremely pleased with our child’s development. Highly recommend!!!

I had my son at this daycare from Jan, 2012 to Sep, 2012. He was in the toddler class. He was part time for 6 mos and then full time. Pretty much I liked it as the owner, director and teachers were nice and seemed to care about the children. However I have 3 things to say that should be keep in mind:
1. Somehow the children seem to be hungry at the end of the day. My son was super hungry every day when i picked him up and a mom in my subdivision complained about the same with her daughter who attended this daycare too.
2. My son had an accident while playing outside. He hit his chin against the concrete floor and had an open woubd. They told me he fell out of a trycicle. Trish called me several times to tell me she was worried but that he was doing ok, no need to go and pick him up. When i finally went, she suggested me to take him to an urgent care just to be safe. She told me not to worry about the bill since they pay a very expensive insurance and that the school will reinbursement. Long story short: she never did. After 3 months calling her and faxing the bill ($ 146) she never pay it, eventhough she promised every time she will do it. I finally decided to pay it and forget the issue. My son was already attending another daycare by then.
3. As somebody suggested, please read the bright from the start reports, for this and any facility, they have a bad monitoring report on this place, if i remember right, something about children sleeping on the carpet due to lack of mats.
I was happy the time my son was there and i changed him to another daycare just because this place was far from my home and traffick/​driving was killing me. I finally got him enrolled at Primrose and i could not be more happy!

We just starting taking our 3 month old baby to this location. The women who run the facility, Trish and Amy, are absolutely wonderful. They are onsite and have total control over what is happening at their day care. I really appreciated how they helped me transition in to taking my daughter to day care (something that wasn’t easy for me!) and how the staff worked hard to create the schedule I wanted my baby to keep. The women in the infant room were great and I felt like my daughter got plenty of attention throughout the day. Highly recommend!
