More «Etc» than the «99¢».
This place is not, as it sounds, an «everything in here is the same price» store in the vein of a Dollar Tree, but, rather, a convenience store with higher than average prices and less emphasis on foodstuffs.
Bars on the windows (pretty out-​of-​sorts with the direction the neighborhood is headed) and a guy glaring at you — presumably waiting for you to pocket something — make for a pretty uncomfortable experience.
