A Carter T Lund Salon

Just moved here from Illinois and was dreading finding a new hairdresser. A new acquaintance with great hair referred Carter to me and boy did I hit pay dirt! My hair was dry and just a mess from not being cut or colored in awhile and I was desperate for help. I basically just told Carter do whatever you can and he went to work! Two hours later I walk out with a great cut and shiny soft hair! And to top it off everyone was so nice and fun. I wish I had before and after pictures. I’m a very happy girl!

Today is September 3, 2015… Wine in hand… sitting in the best salon in town (A Carter T Lund Salon)…about to be pampered and hide the proof that I’m not 20 years old anymore! Carter is going to work his magic and all will be right with my world again.
Seriously! This man knows his hair chemistry and color. My crazy finicky hair obeys when Carter is in charge. I trust and value his opinion and expertise to the point that I pretty much walk in, sit down and let him decide what’s going to happen. And I have yet to be disappointed. His staff is always courteous and professional and still I feel like one of the family here.
Do yourself a favor and come see him or his wife Charlie who is equally amazing in he own right or book an appointment with any of the other very talented stylists.

OK, I feel like a compete moron (no change). They do provide haircuts for MEN. I had my hair cut there yesterday and it started our with a warm towel on my face and a hand massage by a cute young lady. (Mrs.) Charlie cut my hair and she’s so gentle that I almost fell asleep. She has a great sense of humor and can talk about anything. She also mentioned that they do WAXING (don’t go there) and I had my eyebrows done too.
I’ve been going to a cheap and fast place but I’d forgotten what it’s like to be serviced by a real salon professional.
LADIES, they do a great job on COLOR, MAKE-​UP and can even schedule the mani-​pedi for you too.

Carter is an amazing stylist and works his magic with color. Love him!!! If you are looking for someone that is top of his game look no further!!! Carter is priceless

Absolutely amazing!!! My hair turned out orange from a hair coloring gone terribly wrong, and Charlie did magic to make it look amazong! This is the first time I’ve been to here, and I will continue to come back to them over and over again now! I am so thankful for the work that they have done. They are extremely hospitable people, and I would only recommend going to them for anything you need done to your hair.

So I’m giving this place five stars because of my stylist, Tamara! She is awesome, I’ve followed her all over north Austin for years. She is very accessible, prices are reasonable, and she cuts my husband’s and son’s hair too. My son loves the snacks, and she always has a little goodie for him when he’s done. :)
As for the salon, it used to be called Katz and many of the stylists have been there for years, some since it opened. Last year, Carter and his wife Charlie bought the place, and I think almost everyone has stayed. They have done a lot of updating so it lost some of it’s homey feel, but the modern look works too. (my husband likes that it’s not as «girly») Carter and Charlie are really nice and friendly, they even engage with my son when we bring him in.

Id follow this man anywhere! Now to his very own signature salon! yeah… Carter & Charlie you deserve this — not only are you a fabulous stylist and colorist, but your a great guy! If anyone wants to see what its like to have amazing color that lasts!!! (I can actually go over 8 weeks without touch ups). phenom. Carter is brilliant, from day one, I have never had to tell him what I wanted, he learns your style your needs and he compliments your color and cut just for you! Its like a fortune teller for hair… congrats on the new salon. I was there to get my hair done yesterday and its beautiful — relaxing with that little bit of panache!
