A&A Wrecker and Recovery

Came home to find someone parked in my reserved spot. Called the towing company that was hung on a pole in my apartment complex. Spoke to a woman who told me she would send a driver out here. Waited an hour before calling to see about how much longer it would be, only to find out they don’t contract at this apartment complex anymore. It would of been to get a call back saying to call someone else!!!

This weekend my parking permit flew out of my car when I was driving with the top down. I’m in touch with the property owner and we’re getting me set up with a replacement ASAP.
In the meantime, it didn’t even occur to me that it might be a big deal because parking is literally never an issue at my tiny little complex. There are more spots than there are residents, and, because the spots aren’t visible from the street, nobody random ever parks here.
Low and behold, A&A was driving around tonight looking for cars to tow and mine was one of them. Fortunately, my neighbor came pounding on my door at about 9:00 to let me know my car was being towed. I ran down there prepared to prove that my car was authorized to park in the spot, armed with a utility bill for proof of residence, my ID, my car’s registration, and the email correspondence I’ve had with the property owner.
A&A Guy wasn’t impressed. He proceeded to tell me that yeah, he’s seen my car here before with the permit, but he doesn’t know when people are telling the truth… Uh?!
Two stars because he said he’d let me go this time, saving me the hassle of picking up what would have been an unlawfully towed car.*
*Being the indignant, insufferably obnoxious law student that I am, as soon as I got back upstairs I did some quick research on Texas tow truck regulations. I highly recommend that you do the same because I learned that in the situation, had he continued to tow my car, he would’ve been in violation of both city and state law. You can’t assert your rights if you don’t know em!

They’ll nearly run you over — drivers are so bad, I wouldn’t trust them with your car

1 star doesn’t even sum up the experience at A&A Wrecker & Recovery. We were cooperative but the service was down right rude and insulting. When asked to see their policies we were told it was their prerogative to do whatever they wanted.

Most (if not all) of the reviews on here are from people who got their cars impounded. BUT I am not one of those people.
My car’s radiator burst while I was parked in a parking garage with very (!) low ceilings. Many tow trucks were dispatched but none were up to the task until A&A.
The tow truck operator was extremely knowledgable and worked very quickly. He was able to tow my all-​wheel drive SUV safely through a tight parking garage with little clearance (the clearance was only 7 feet.)
When it comes to needing your car towed due to car trouble, they are extremely accommodating. Could not ask for more.

If you see an A&A Wrecker sign on a parking lot, pay careful attention to where you park because they are watching all the time.
Look, I’m not even mad that my car got towed, I deserved it. I AM mad that when I came to pick it up, I had to pay $ 193– cash, exact change required. I’m also mad that they decided to ignore the fact that my vehicle is VERY clearly all-​wheel drive and can’t be towed with two tires on the road. Of course, they lied about how they towed it when the service shop called them, but the kind of damage that was done is very clearly a result of improper towing.
If you’re looking for $ 9000 in unexpected car repairs, look no further, these are your people.

The man that picked up my truck was nice and all. But when we got to the shop to drop off the truck everything got really bad.
They said I had to pay $ 375 or they would haul my truck off to impound. I called management and they were rude, and not helpful at all. Basically they robbed me. Worst service ever! If I could rate them lower I would.

Be careful and find someone else to tow your car these people are not to be trusted!!! They will tow without cause look them up on the texas website they just settled for wrongful towing back in June. So if you have a choice pick another tow company!

Can I add less stars? FUCK YOU! I stopped to get A beer with a friend 2 seconds from my house and was towed.

DONT USE THEM! Worst service, liars… they don’t deserve a single star. They lied about how far they were to the insurance company. Being honest goes a long way, all they had to do was admit they were stuck in traffic instead of saying they were around right around the corner. They kept telling the insurance company they were close when they weren’t. I personally called their dispatcher after waiting 2 hours and and they said they were stuck in traffic. They arrived after 3 hours and even after the insurance company called to cancel. When I confronted the driver about the lying, he said «whatever».

My scooter got towed from the sidewalk at my apartment complex and I’m sure nobody called them. They just go out searching for «illegally parked vehicles» and tow no matter if they receive a call or not… they don’t care if it’s 3 AM. I suppose this is how they make a living, here is an example, they charged me $ 264 dollars for towing a 300 pound little scooter, they included storing fees and didn’t even put it in a regular parking space, it was stored in the tiniest spot at their garage. Anyways, we got to the office at around 6 PM on a rainy day and a low life, uneducated and rude female attendant took about 40 minutes to do the paper work. We asked her if we could talk to the supervisor and she did nothing about it. Long story short do NOT use/​rely/​trust this shady towing business!!!

My car was towed by A & A off of a condominium property without my consent. I was parked in a spot that had no sign saying I couldn’t be there, and there was nothing painted on the ground showing that I couldn’t park there. Anyone that saw this space would assume it’s a place to park. I was hung up on 5 times by a horrible woman last night after calling them to find out if they had my car. She was completely rude and unreasonable. Unfortunately, today when I went to pick up my car from their lot, I had to again deal with the horrible woman. She said that I was towed because my car was «obstructing» traffic… which was a bunch of nonsense. She said that the tow truck driver had taken pics of my car before towing, and she said that it showed it was blocking the drive. Conveniently for her the guy that had towed me had just gone home sick., so she wasn’t able to show me these so called «pictures» that he had taken. Luckily I had taken pictures myself with my sisters car in the spot I was towed from and showed the witch that I was obviously blocking nothing. She then said that if a police officer had passed by and saw my car parked there that the officer would have ticketed my car. She showed how ignorant she is since she plainly didn’t know that the police can not ticket a car on private property unless it’s a handicap parking violation. They are not authorized to do so. I guess she assumed that I would be as stupid as her and not know this. Either that, or she a dang liar. I think it’s both.

Friendly enough when they picked up my car, but then when I sent someone to pick it up, they had left my windows down (outside!) for 2 days (it rained) AND refused to give the tow driver my keys until they had been paid in full and the car was loaded onto the truck, even though I was signed to a contract. Avoid these guys! Would have never used them if they weren’t just the first ones at the scene.

All I have to say is that these guys are very unprofessional. I was in desperate need of a tow after my truck had broke down on the highway on a trip home. Luckily I was able to get it off and into a parking lot. These knuckle heads came and got the truck ready to tow. While I was waiting for a ride which was 15 minutes out, these guys said they had a meeting to go to with their boss (at 6:45pm?). They leave my girlfriend and I with our dog and all our luggage in the parking lot while we waited. These guys were nothing but unprofessional, didn’t have the right paperwork and were in a hurry to get back to happy hour. I guess what do you expect right from a tow service?

What a disaster.
I called this morning at about 8:15 because I needed someone who could get my car out of an underground garage. The woman I talked to told me they had trucks who could get to ANYTHING, but they needed to know EXACTLY what the clearance was at the garage.
I had to make a couple follow-​up calls to determine the EXACT clearance, which took about 7 – 8 minutes.
When I called back, a different woman answered the phone. When I described the situation and gave her the clearance, she said, «Oh, our truck can’t get in there.»
When I explained the woman I had JUST talked to told me they had trucks that could get in ANYWHERE, she simply repeated, «Our truck can’t get in there.»
When I asked to talk to the first woman, she told me, «Oh, she just left.»
«She just left?»
«Yep.»
“For the day?”
«Yep.»
Must be some shift, ending at 8:25 a.m. I’m not saying she was lying to me, but it left the impression that someone REALLY didn’t want to ANY extra trouble to help a customer in need. I shall forever after avoid accordingly.
