A Mother’s Pride Placenta Services

Nikki was great! Aside from being my doula, I also ordered the placenta encapsulation service. I was skeptical at first, but compared to my first postpartum experience, this second one was a completely different feeling. The placenta pills definitely gave me a boost of energy, leveled my moods, and helped with healing. I felt like myself again in less than 3 weeks time.

Can I tell you the truth? The first time I heard about placentophagy (online, my second pregnancy, the first having been 13 years prior), I was grossed out. I thought, «Well, some people just take the whole crunchy thing a little too far!» I reasoned that if I were nutritionally at-​risk, maybe I could see how consuming one’s placenta might help, but I didn’t need that, right? Well, at some point, I read that it might help with postpartum symptoms including those hormonal lows that kick in pretty much immediately after birth. Although a dozen years had passed, I remembered those dark days with dread, and was willing to do almost anything to avoid a repeat.
I knew if I were going to do it, it’d have to be in pill form. I asked my midwife about it and she recommended Nikki with Mother’s Pride Encapsulation Services. Nikki was professional and prompt and all of that, but even more, she really seemed excited for me and very interested in me as a mom, not just as a client. Even now, almost a year later, she remembers things about me and that’s super nice.
As far as the actual placenta pills: It was super easy. I picked an herbal blend, Nikki got the placenta from me, and then two days later, she delivered the pills to my house! It was great!
Did they work? Well, my sort of «new mom» funk was much later (about three months in as opposed to the first week) and much shallower. I got to enjoy the first few weeks with my second baby in a way I hadn’t with my first.
