I had a dead battery while on a short errand and called AAA Texas for assistance. Within one hour the tech arrived, started the truck, checked the alternator, and confirmed the problem was just the Toyota battery which was only 18 months old. The tech also gave me advice on where to take the car to get the full warranty replacement. He also suggested not to turn the truck off because it may not start again.
I took his advice and went immediately to the Toyota Round Rock dealer who even though it was after closing time, replaced the battery at no charge.
Thank you AAA for the excellent service.

Called AAA today because of dead batter. The truck/​driver arrived at the promised time. The tech check the battery with meters and it showed it needed replacement. He had the new battery on his truck and within 1 few minutes later, I was set to leave. Could not have had any better service anywhere. One last note to my fellow drivers. If you are 65 or older should should sign up today. Don’t wait until it too late.

I called for a battery service at 8:25 am i have and by 10:15 they still had not showed up and i had called for updates and been told that they had a 75 min call time in my area. Hello what do i pay for to be left stranded i have been a customer for 14 years and this service out here sucks! My husband could have been home and i could have been at work had they told me that the first time i called.#cancelling no thank you

I’ve stopped in this location two times now to apply for an international driver’s permit. I arrive with my completed form and two passport photos (although they take photos here for a minimal fee; AAA members receive a discount), and they have my international permit within 15min. I’ve come in first thing in the morning and also towards the end of the day. Both times, I was greeted and serviced as soon as I walked in. Super simple!

will give 0 if could. biggest crooks in insurance business. customer service is rude and completely impersonal. they take pleasure in screwing you and jacking up insurance premium for any made up reason. stay away!!!

Just used my AAA membership for the first time and had a fantastic experience!
My battery was dead so Armada Towing came to my rescue. The super friendly technician arrived within 20 minutes of my call (in morning rush hour!) and brought a new battery which he installed onsite for $ 109.
Incredibly convenient. Definitely a happy customer.

So, my flight lands at around 11:25pm on a Saturday night. I sleepily saunter from baggage claim over to my car, luggage in hand. I proceed to turn on my car, close the driver side door, walk around the car to put my suitcase in the passenger seat. I shut the door, locking myself outside of the car and everything I own inside the running car (keys, wallet, phone). I have a plane to catch at 6am and desperately need a good night of sleep… keep this in mind. OK! So, the obvious next step here is to locate someone with a phone, call AAA for some good olé «24 roadside assistance»…the woman on the phone asks me a series of questions pertaining to the issue at hand, my location etc. I repeatedly explain to her that I am in the covered parking at the Austin Bergstrom International Airport, level 2 row C. She asks me a couple more times to explain where I am, and I do. She then repeats back to me a couple of different crossroads where she thinks I might be located? Ok, whatever it takes, just help a girl out. She then tells me that a truck will come out and pop my lock at 12:54am (yes, her time quote was THAT specific). I hang up the phone at 12:00am. I wait… and I wait… and pretty soon it is 1:30am and I’m laying down on the top of my car staring at the garage ceiling. twiddling my thumbs.
I wait…
And wait…
And wait…
It’s now 2am and there is no AAA truck in sight. The airport has emptied out. I pick up the emergency phone I find hiding in the back corner of the garage and proceed to call the airport. They connect me to the parking attendants who then call Poppa Locks. Poppa Locks was there in 20 minutes flat and my door was unlocked in under two minutes.
So – I leave you with this dear reader: should you ever find yourself in need of roadside assistance and think hm… Maybe I should call AAA?
Just walk home.

So my family and I have had AAA for years and have only actually used their services 2 – 3 times so I don’t know if we have really saved or wasted $$ in the long run but whatever. A few months ago I let someone borrow my car and the transmission went out. I called AAA, told them the location which was kinda out in the middle of nowhere between Austin and New Braunfels. 5 minutes later I get a call from a tow truck driver who happens the know exactly where the car is because he lives just down the street and can be there in 5 min. Great! Right? No. Then he proceeds to tell me that the info he received from AAA states that a full bed tow truck in required not just the kind that lift the front and leaves the back tires on the road. He doesn’t have the right kind of truck.
This means that the tow request must be sent back to AAA and then sent out to someone who has the right truck. I call AAA back, tell them and they inform me it will take an additional 30 – 45 min. 1.5 hours later someone shows up. All in all my poor friend is stuck out in the middle of nowhere for over 3hours.
Yesterday, I decide to take my boyfriend to Fiesta Texas. I find out that AAA members can get a pretty decent discount on tickets if they buy thru the AAA website. So I go thru the process, find the tickets, enter my info, enter my discover card info (because the site also says I can get more perks by using my discover card) and hit «buy».
An Error msg pops up. Basically saying that discover isn’t verifying my address and to call discover which I do. Discover says everything is fine, they have approved the transaction and my address is correct. The issue is that the AAA system isn’t sending a $ amount to charge. Back to AAA! They DO NOT provide a phone # for tech support/​website support. I call every other number I can find and get automated msgs that their office is closed. Finally I call the number for requesting a tow truck. They are as helpful as possible but basically they aren’t provided with a phone # for tech support either. She apologizes and recommends I try to process my payment again later and/​or call a different department the next day. I end up sending an email msg thru the site to «online customer support»
Today, the system still wouldn’t process my payment. I call «member services», again the employee I talk to is very nice and helpful but is unable to get in contact with the correct department. Basically he called them multiple times and they never answered. He left and msg and suggested that I send a msg thru the «online support system» (which I had done yesterday) he said they usually reply within a few hours. I told him I had already done that and it’s already been 24 hours. Poor guy didn’t know what to say so I let him off the phone and now I’m writing this.
I’m just appalled that such a large company with such an extensive website would have such poor customer support

My car has been a pain recently and having AAA has saved me some money on towing and emergency assistance. I have the cheapest membership, whatever that is. I do not have their auto insurance.
The good part: this weekend my car wouldn’t start and the AAA tow guy came to Highland Mall within 20 minutes. The tow was fast and free, so that was great.
However, when I told the tow guy that I wanted to take my car to Dura Tune, he recommended I bring it to Galaxy Auto or have a friend of his come out and fix it for cheaper. I didn’t want to take any chances, so I just had him bring my car to Dura Tune after all. I didn’t feel pressured, but I did think it was weird that the tow guy was pushing a certain repair shop. Also, a few years ago I waited over 2 hours for a AAA contractor to come unlock my car and then the guy showed up without the equipment he needed, so I had to call someone else.
They save me money on the whole, but AAA is not always super fast or reliable. Get it if you think your car will ever need to be towed, or if you want discounts on Amtrak or airline miles — they have partnerships for all those things.

AAA always exceeds my expectations. I have been been insured by the company for over 10 years, and no other insurance agency can lure me away! Even after a traffic violation, my auto insurance premium has stayed reasonable. There are no sneaky charges. AAA also has exceptional customer service, and their phone answering system is efficient. When I call in, I get transferred to the right department quickly and my issue is dealt with on-​the-​spot. More companies should learn how to make their phone services as streamlined at AAA. I even have a direct line through email, to an agent who remembers me. I can email her with any questions I might have and she’ll respond personally. Wow!
AAA Home Owner’s insurance was put to the test after I had several items stolen from me. AAA really turned the horrible experience (I’m materialistic, ok?) into a better situation by backing me up. The process was guided by a responsible agent and easy to handle.

Extremely disappointed with AAA and Armada Towing. They strictly use Armada towing that apparently employs drivers who get kickback$ from the shops they tow cars to. Our customer told them to take it directly to Eagle Transmission and they tried hard to convince them to take it to some place called Galaxy in Austin. Extremely unprofessional.

ZERO STARS! I am CANCELLING my AAA service tomorrow! I have been waiting a tow for 2 hours in Austin a city of almost 1 million and EVERYTIME I call they say 10 minutes.

I’m a premium AAA member and broke down in a bad part of town at 1:00am. I had guys circling my car. I tried to appear as though the car was not broken and called AAA, desperate. They said someone would be there in an hour. I waited an hour, called back to find out when the guy was coming and was told that there was no record of my call. I had been sitting there, stranded and scared sh*tless for nothing! Since my phone was dying I asked them to call the police. They never showed, the police never showed, and a stranger helped me out. For $ 160 a year I cannot say enough BAD things about AAA. I want my money back!

Put me on auto renew without EVER asking me or mentioning it or putting it in any printed materials. Then, would not refund me the second membership charge which I never agreed to.
If you want to be tricked and swindled and unexpectedly have $ 60 debited from your account and then have to spend half an hour on the phone to find out what it is, only to be treated rudely and get no refund, then yeah. You should totally sign up. Oh and also, if you call for help, you can expect it to come like three hours later.
The part of the company located in the north west is not nearly this bad. Clearly the Texas part has bad management and some people should be fired. Bad news. Just be honest, people.

So not only do they let you do a gazillion retakes on your passport photo… but they did not have the Europe book and map in stock that I wanted. The same nice guy said he would call a few places and get back to me.
Next day I received a message that they found them in another city and were having them overnight shipped to their office for me.
When I went in to retrieve the book and map, they also presented me with a customized «Intelliguide Report» for the cities/​countries I was planning to visit. I never even asked for that. It was a nice touch and waiting for me in a recycle bag.
Fabulous service!
