All Faiths Funeral Service

I was familiar with All Faiths from a friend’s passing. When my mother fell ill suddenly while visiting and passed away at Christopher House 1÷6÷16, I asked them to call All Faiths to take care of her cremation. The young man who came for her was very respectful, dressed in a suit and made sure I was able to follow her out to their vehicle.
Our meeting with the funeral director was very professional and compassionate later that day. All costs and options were clearly laid out. Nothing was forced or insisted upon us. No surprises!
Gilbert, the Minister/​Director called me the day her cremains were being picked up by my husband to make sure all of our needs were met. They were met and once again I was very satisfied with their service.
My primary concern was not money, it was service, dealing with no middlemen for the cremation and not being «sold» things/​services we did not want or need. The fact that it was very reasonable was a bonus. My mother’s wishes were to not have a costly, depressing or big production funeral. Her wishes were honored and that’s what mattered most.
I highly recommend them and would not hesitate to employ their services again if needed. My mother and family were treated with respect, dignity and compassion.

PS: If you want «fancy», «expensive», «a big production» you might want to consider going elsewhere as has been previously stated. There is nothing «scary» about their location and I can not imagine that any crematorium would allow family members to be present during the cremation process.

I have many years of experience dealing all the area funeral homes due to my vocation. Iam writing this review because All Faiths just delivered the most exceptional service I’ve ever experienced in this industry. Director Nathaniel has a heart of gold and I now have confidence recommending this funeral home when families ask for my input

What a disaster! After my husband’s death, several people suggested that I use this group. I did. The building/​location is very depressing and almost scary! They are VERY concerned about costs — warning me over and over and over, again that I could not set a foot into the building where my husband was being cremated (like I was planning to do that)!
Final straw is that they actually made up stuff for his death certificate, did not give the opportunity to review the information prior to submitting it to the state and now are refusing to get me a death certificate that is correct. They seem to think I am «distraught» over my husband’s death, rather than being «distraught» over their handling of the his care and paperwork.
Given their total lack of attention to details, now, I am concerned about whose remains I have!!!

The price/​value were very much in line with what I wanted and needed. I also felt the two gentlemen that helped me (Ramon & Gilbert) were extremely professional and kind.
— If you need/​want a cost effective way to handle a cremation this is a 4-​star place.
— If what you really want is to host funeral /​showing services, you might be better served by using one of the more standard funeral homes (much more costly but that’s why).
That being said, the All Faiths folks handled everything for me via Hospice Austin and they were gentle and kind in the entire process. The services I used were:
— Removal of loved one from the home
— Cremation
— Committal to Flame
The only reason I do not give All Faiths a 4 is because the facilities /​the building they are in could really use a facelift. Otherwise, the services are a 4 and the people are a 5.

Not that dealing with a place like this is fun for any one but I bet you can go anywhere and get better and more compassionate service. My father died a year back and my brother was so stunned by the news that he had him sent to the first name on the list which happened to be all faiths.
I don’t know if the man who helped us was so jaded by the amount dead peoples loved ones he has to deal every day or if he just didn’t care, but I found him very cold and not the least bit comforting or nice. To explain he was polite because we were paying him to serve us but not nice or friendly.
I was also taken aback by the amount of expensive jewelery he was wearing. I mean a lot of people wear jewelry but this man had a big gold ring some with diamonds on almost every finger and multiple gold chains around his neck one of which was very big. It was like he was flaunting the crazy amount of money he makes from us and other grieving family’s and rubbing our faces in it. It made me uncomfortable.
To sum it up I will never be setting foot in this establishment again and will urge every one else to choose their funeral more carefully than we did.

Not that I nessecarily WANT to EVER do business with them in the future (who really wants to with a Funeral Home?), I wouldn’t mind them handling my business again.
When my father passed away, I honestly had no idea what to do. My mom recommended taking him here as we were cremating his remains and she saw in a Statesman article many years back that all the funeral homes doing cremations send their clients to All Faiths since they were one of the only crematories for Austin.
What I really enjoyed was that we were able to meet the morning after he passed and they did not try to upsell us on ANYTHING. The director mentioned certain services that would be good in case of a viewing (like embalming, etc), but he recommended against it because it wouldn’t be nessecary in the end. Now, I REALLY like that. We knew already we weren’t going to have a viewing, so that was no problem.
The director didn’t even try to upsell us on various caskets used for cremation. He explained very well what would be «standard» — which my Dad wanted. There was a price list for the «standard» set up which came out around a little under $ 900 for the whole thing.
He didn’t try to sell us any urns, but gave a catalogue to look through in case we were thinking about some. I really really loved how the director kept everything very calm and casual and didn’t try to take advantage of us like a lot of other places tend to do.
In the following weeks, they were very communicative in regards to when things were ready (death certificates, the urns I ended up ordering, etc). When my father’s cremains were ready, they were very courteous and very supportive.
So do I WANT to do business with them again in the future? Not really… But since they do have excellent, compassionate service and cut-​out-​the-​middle-​man type prices here, I’d definitely recommend them to just about anyone in Austin looking to be cremated in the future or you have a loved one who has requested that you don’t overspend on them after death, I’d definitely recommend All Faiths.
