Stopped in to check out their ciders after visiting over at The Last Stand brewery. I never realized there were so many different kinds of ciders till I came here! The staff were nice and my boyfriend and I each got a glass of a different kind of cider. We enjoyed sitting outside at the picnic tables in the sunshine with our drinks. I am not a big cider drinker so can’t comment much on the quality but enjoyed our visit.

Very cool place to check out! There ciders aren’t quite like any Ive had before so a tasting was great because you don’t get full glasses. My favorite was the Agave Ginger! I took some home too!

Went to check out Last Stand Brewing, as they’re practically next door neighbors to Jester King — discovered that it’s actually located on an adorable little compound-like booze farm — a brewery, a distillery, and a cider producer all on the same campus. Unexpectedly, Argus Cidery is the star of the compound. Pretty awesome! The space is a little cramped, with no outdoor mingling/seating area, but it’s really beautiful.(That lighting arrangement is a thing of beauty!)(And now that I think about it, there’s not actually seating inside either. .just the bar where you order, and one long pub-height family-style table to stand around) Argus apparently doesn’t DO flights(really guys. .consider it!) but the bartender was super nice and poured us a(very)generous sample of each cider/fruit wine they produce. Gave us a lovely explanation of the ingredients and process for each… incredibly welcoming and appreciated, to an extent. But, when you don’t like the beverage in your hand, at all, and all you want to do is spit, but the guy is looking at you gauging your reaction to it and it appears to be their flagship we’re-super-proud-of-this drink. …sigh. Awkward! Lol. Make the Ginger Agave your flagship, guys! Seriously. Best cider ever.

Now this was something new for me. Not a huge fan of cider but our firends recommened that we come here so we agreed. Great little place to come and start an evening out or enjoy a late afternoon drink and munchies. be warned… there maybe some bees around when they bring the apples to make the cider. Soooo… if you dont bother them… they dont bother you… they are actually friendly bees… :)

This place is, quite simply, heaven. From the amazing wine and the mulled cider(that they mercifully offered us in the 28 degree weather), to possibly the most charming décor I’ve ever seen, it’s just lovely. I wanted to stay forever.

This place is the epitome of delightful and charming. We were here for the Peached Tortilla pop up dinner and had a fantastic time! The décor is this cute hipster chic, the cider is crisp & refreshing, and the owner and employees were incredibly knowledgeable & service oriented. Thanks for a lovely evening! We’ll definitely be back :)

I totally Concur with Lindsey D’s Review on all points! Food — Outstanding! For the picnic, my husband and I had a ham & gruyère cheese panini. Watermelon & Tomato salad that was wonderfully seasoned with a light vinaigrette. White Bean, cheese, and green apple as a side dish. Every delicious morsel was accounted for! I left nothing on my plate! Cider is fantastic and paired very nicely with the food. In addition to the picnic, we also did the tasting, and am glad we did. The Cider is very good, and the bottling, labeling and naming of the Ciders is very creative! Service, interior design, and atmosphere are all outstanding! My husband and I are very impressed. Wes and Jules are two fellows that know what they are doing. Keep up the good work! Other Austin restaurants, bars etc., should take notice to learn the right way to deliver a great experience, good food, and excellent service! I highly recommend Argus Cidery. It is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. My husband and I can’t wait to go back in the fall with some friends and family!

My wife and I came here a couple of weekends ago and were happy to find this cidery nearby on Unilocal. They have a very cool tasting room that has an open warehouse feel, as it is quite literally an open warehouse. lol. The staff here is incredibly friendly, they are locally owned and operated by two dudes who are very knowledgeable about apple cider and how to make it quite tasty. We split a tasting for $ 10 between us and tried several of their ciders. They have sparkly and flat, so you can taste two of each. They offer a picnic option but we just opted to taste the ciders. Can’t remember the names of all four but the Lady Goldsmith sparkling hard cider was our favorite. Would highly recommend them for a fun weekend trip or if you happen to be in the area. They aren’t too far from Jester King or Stanley’s Farmhouse pizza. Hours and details here:

My experience at Argus was divine. Their cider is not your traditional Ace or Strongbow at the bar. I did the $ 10 tasting and the $ 20 picnic. Don’t skip the picnic! The food was amazing! These are true renaissance men turning out creative ciders and killer food.(They also have some serious interior design skills.) I had the picnic from the Tartine cookbook and will never forget that almond gazpacho. It was epic. We bought two bottles of cider, one still and one sparkling. And I would love to try some of the truly creative cider variations Argus is considering in the future. It was 5 star product, service and ambiance across the board. A truly lovely way to spend the afternoon. As it is an open space, I suppose it gets a bit toasty in the summer. I look forward to visiting again.
