5 stars for being the best art store in Austin! If you are a budding artist or a seasoned professional, you can find it here!
We have a home kiln, and buy ALL of our kiln supplies here. They have the the best selection of kiln furniture in town, and carry all types of clay. Kilns, Potters wheels, sculpting tools and ceramic art seem to be a fixture here, but they do provide art supplies in all medias, and have an extensive inventory on site.
Give this place a visit. They are very pleasant folks!

Its wide selection of supplies make Armadillo Clay an extremely important resource for many local ceramics and glass workers. The book section alone eclipses the ceramics and glass shelves of any bookstore in town, and glaze colors number in the hundreds. Still, the staff is the best reason to visit this store. I never fail to learn something new, even if I’m only stopping by for a single sheet of glass. Words like knowledgeable, patient, and helpful all apply, and the combination of great staff and management plus awesome inventory makes Armadillo Clay one of those rare perfect businesses anyone will be happy to discover. Yes folks, this is as good as it gets!

Well, not a whole lot of options when it comes to ceramics supplies. However, I LOVE Armadillo! They have great people and it’s one of those stores that I have to make a list for or I will walk out with half the store.
The clay is great. I particularly like the Baclones White. The people are knowledgeable. I have had to ask technical questions about products before and have always received a good answer. And, they have almost anything you can imagine related to clay and hot glass.
Get on their mailing list and you can find out about the mini-​classes/​workshops that they often hold.
