I was in major need of a trim and called at the last minute. Everyone that works here is so sweet and and welcoming. Renita did an excellent job with my cut! What a great salon! I will be back soon for my ombré touch-up.

I dropped in for a blowdry in my neighborhood salon. I own my own salon but today I just needed TLC close to home. Ask for Reyna owner or Renita, Misty there are all very friendly and talented! Happy place in south Austin! Plus my color is always perfect.

This place is a south Austin prize! I love Reyna the owner, she cuts and colors my hair. She does an amazing job every time I go in and want something different she knows exactly what to do.

I have short curly hair so I always worry when I get a cut from a new stylist, but Misty was amazing. She knew exactly what my curly hair needed to avoid clown status and cut my hair exactly how I pictured it. The price was VERY fair, the location convenient with plenty of parking, and it was easy to make an appointment quickly. I will definitely be going back to Misty and I have already referred several friends :)

I thought I came and updated this review… but I guess I didn’t. Came here the other day to get a haircut from Reyna — and she is fabulous. She listened to what I wanted and did it! I got a great haircut from her and will be back.

Salon is under new ownership! I love this place. Misty and Renita are great colorists and stylists. Very friendly and outgoing staff. I haven’t loved my hair this much in ages. They both moved to this salon from another salon in 2011. I followed them here. I think the new owner is very cool as is making great improvements. The eyebrow lady referred to in the other negative reviews is no longer there.

I’ve been getting my eyebrows threaded for over 5 years by the same woman. It lasts longer than plucking and my hairs are too thin for proper waxing as you can’t get the right angle. I trusted that thought the woman at Asora may not be as good as my regular girl but wouldn’t be horrible. I was wrong.. .she proceed to thread a little bit and then began PLUCKING my eyebrows into thin crescents.. .I have had the most natural looking eyebrows until now and I explained that if i wanted to pluck I could have done it myself.. .she was also plucking OPPOSITE the grain on the hair! her plucking(not threading) made my eyebrow bleed a little and broker the hairs so there were black broken eyebrow hairs. .I explained that my regular threading never requires plucking.. .. I then proceed to purchase a massage thinking«how bad could it be? Its a massage rt? It turned out to be on the fastest moving/least relaxing massages I’ve ever had. I wanted to like this place b/c there just aren’t many places near my home on Slaughter and Mopac that have a person who threads. But I’m very sad I spent any money here and will not be returning. .

I’ve been going to Affy, the owner of Asora Salon for a few months. I discovered the salon in fairly far South Austin at the intercession of Wm. Cannon and Brodie, in the strip center behind the Taco Bell. He’s not like most hair dressers. He’s quiet and obviously introspective, and after looking at your hair and talking with you, he get’s to work. If you’re looking for a chatty Patty, forget Affy. I’ve even taken my mother in.. . of course, it helps with Affy’s deal, if you bring him two new customers, he’ll give you a free cut! He’s also got great hours for the working women — M to S, 11 am to 8 pm!!! I’m delighted with my cuts, and he’s very reasonable at $ 30 for a womens haircut, unless you find one of his coupons in a Mailpak.
