Évaluation du lieu : 5 Austin, TX
I have been tested here twice over the last two years and both times it was a pleasant experience. Claire made me feel very at ease while Dr. Harris is someone who I just want to hug everytime I see him. He’s brilliant and really does care about you.

Évaluation du lieu : 2 Austin, TX
I had my daughter evaluated here last may when she was 6. I decided to get her tested here because they took my insurance. It took about 8 hours over two days. I thought that was a lot to ask of a 6 year old, but the center told me that’s how they do things. About a week after the test we sat down with the James Harrison, the Phd who reads the report and assigns a diagnosis for your child. He was very nice, but his assessment was strange and(i think) lazy. My daughter did not have an easy diagnosis. None of her tests were conclusive. She had a little bit of one type of problem, a little bit of another problem — but nothing that was a straight«your kid has this problem.» Dr. Harrison explained all that to us and then said«your daughter only has a 30% chance of having adhd, but that’s what i’m going to give her as a diagnosis.» I told him 30% seems too small to label her adhd and she had seen a neurologist who said she did NOT have adhd. Dr. Harrison agreed that the 30% was low, but said that her not understanding things and wrong answers on his tests were from attention problems. We were actually relieved. ADHD is a better diagnosis than a massive learning disability. Well she turned 7 and has started 2nd grade. She has massive problems in math. I spend 2 hours doing 2nd grade math homework with her every night. She is sitting still and focused(without medication), but she does NOT understand anything. We go over things and over things for hours and she sits still the entire time — and she doesn’t get the math. I was convinced there is a learning disability present and NOT adhd. I sent dr. harrison’s report to another Phd to get second opinion. After reading the report and meeting with Alexis the new doctor feels that dr. harrison conducted the proper tests, but his interpretation of the tests was completely wrong. The new doctor showed me the exact tests and scores in dr. harrisons report and why my daughters scores added up to another problem that is not adhd. He said some doctors specialize in adhd diagnosis and they label every kid they evaluate with adhd. Dr. harrison is one of those doctors. If you think that your kids has adhd, this is a fine place to take them. However, if you think your child has a more complicated problem I would look elsewhere.
