I bought a Groupon for AustinSUP Tours. I booked the sunset tour with a view of the bats. The over all experience was great, without ever trying before it was very easy and you quickly got the hang of it. You don’t get much training but it really isn’t too difficult.
Now I was disappointed with the fact that I booked to see the bats but we left the dock late– or too late for my liking. We could see the bats but it would have been nice to be closer [we were way to far away]. I mean on the lake has the best view around and we didn’t even take advantage!
Second– we were suppose to get a picture taken. THEY WERE AWFUL. Seriously, don’t take 2 pictures– why not take 10 so people have something to choose from. This was a major bummer since 1 picture had my friend’s hand in his face and the other couldn’t have been more unflattering.
I would rather just rent the boards and go by myself, even if you have never gone– just watch a youtube video and you’ll be ready to go.
