How do you thank people who made a major difference in your quality of life? I decided to share my experience.
I started having a health issue. I could have lived with it but genealogy indicates I would have lived with it for a very long time. It was stressful and worsening. I found Dr. Shashoua through online reviews. I wanted the best. I didn’t want to question or regret my decision. And from the start to finish, everything went very well — the pre-​op visits, the surgery, the recovery.
It occurred to me afterward that I was fortunate to find a team with the skills and courage to operate on me. I was also fortunate to find a team that cared about my comfort and end result.
I hope this review allows this practice to grow and help others.

Well, if anyone ever said I’d write a review about urogynecology a couple years ago, I would have laughed until I wet myself… literally!
Three children with significant weight gain during each pregnancy left my not yet 40 body (I really am 39) with a host of issues. Heavy bleeding, loss of bladder control, and frankly stretched out lady parts sent me searching for some very intimate repair to my private parts.
What I realized in my search is how many women who were my close friends have said they have very similar concerns and symptoms and couldn’t believe someone could do something about it. Cue Dr. Shashoua and the very professional and sensitive staff at Austin Urogynecology, and hence, the review.
From initial consultation, to insurance and post op checkout, I was so happy with each person on the staff who answered my detailed questions, and provided medical aid. My four procedures required an overnight stay and it wasn’t without pain and recovery, but I am so pleased with the results… and the improvement in my confidence in so many interpersonal settings is amazing.
Billing was handled with insurance and with any major medical procedure, not without a few hiccups. Carol was diligent in resolving the billing concerns and like each person I encountered, was an absolute advocate for me –the patient.
