A little unassuming two story building with community studio space. There’s a room with easels, drawing horses, and a raised daïs for models. I’ve been going on Sundays at 2 for a figure drawing group. There are drawing groups Monday through Thursday. Basically we bring 5 dollars cash each(plus a tip) and our own drawing supplies and a hired model sits for us to draw. So far the models have been great! Nice, dynamic poses with amazing concentration to sit in the same position for 30 minutes at a time. Note for the young and immature: these models are nude. So if you get the giggles you probably shouldn’t come. That said, all experience levels and styles are welcome. Since I’m just getting back in the drawing horse saddle since 1997 it’s nice to see a variety of skill levels. I’ve only gone to the figure drawing groups but I think there are painting groups as well. Each group has its own rules and special days for using strong chemicals and, of course, people clean up after themselves. Thankfully, they have a pretty decent window AC unit because this old building is going to get toasty in the summer!
