Ben was AWESOME! Fast, friendly and finished the job on the first try. I had a ranch truck stuck on the back of the property with a key that would not move so the truck was stuck stuck stuck… with the windows down. Very reasonable and super nice guy. Wonderful company.

Ben was able to diagnose issue as a bad/​dead battery through text message. He went and picked up the battery (paying for it in advance) then came to my apartment where he diagnosed again, replaced the battery and was friendly and affordable. With a good new battery it was under $ 200. I HIGHLY recommend this service!

I can not sing this companies praises enough. After calling so many places and being quoted at least $ 80 and no one being able to help till tomorrow, I stumbled upon Austin Auto Medics. While helping a friend rotate their tires, he busted a stud. After removing the old stud and hub, we needed to put everything back together After being told by at least 10 places that the job needed to be done with a special machine and no one had time till tomorrow, I spoke with Ben, whose response was «So you want me to tell you how to do it yourself?» He gave me very clear instructions and an hour later the job is done.
Did I mention that I am a girl? This is the first time I have ever had a mechanic treat me like I am capable of more than making a sandwich. Typically I get treated like ‘silly girl, thought she could use a wrench…’ and then a long speech about how they do a bunch of cockameme things. It was wonderful that, While I have never having performed this kind of job on a car, Ben still understood I was capable and didn’t try pulling one over in me.
While I have not yet had the pleasure of joinging their customer base, I am confident that this is one of the few mechanics around that is honest, and isn’t just looking to trick you out of as much money as possible. Ben could have charged me labor and a service fee, but it was far more valuable for them to build a returning customer base, than make a quick buck.

Amazing customer service! I was called within a few hours of placing an online inquiry, and was serviced at my schedule. After describing my car’s issue to multiple mechanics, and getting outrageous quotes, I called AMA and was promised free consultation. Ben was the most down to earth mechanic, and was great at explaining everything. Long story short, he solved all my problems at the most affordable price, while driving to my location. If you ever need any mechanic help, give Ben a call, and you wont regret it!

Once again, Ben has shown that customer service is top priority. First of all, he is a genius and one day will be on the cover of MONEY magazine. But I digress. I’ve known Ben for over 5 years and he has fixed my 2001 Mazda Tribute many times. I have compared prices with the commercial repair shops from time to time and Ben saves me sizable amounts of money every time. In this most recent case, the saving is about 70%. For me, it is a huge amount. And when he says it’s fixed, it is. And fixed right.

I highly recommend Auto Medic of Austin. I have worked with Ben on several occasions with my car and he has come to the rescue and is very dependable. The prices are great and the fact that they come onsite is super convenient for people that are constantly on the run.
But what I think what separates this company from the big car garage chains is their honesty. Ben is a down to earth guy who won’t beat around the bush, he takes the time to figure out what is wrong with your car and fixes the problem, rather than just recommending you to buy new parts for any little problem you may have, which can get super expensive.

Unless you are POSITIVE that what you are looking at is a small fix that you can’t handle, this service isn’t worth it.
I originally called them because I thought I just needed a belt replaced. $ 300 and a new head gasket later, I still didn’t have a running car. This took an entire day. They scheduled another mechanic to come out a couple of days later. He never showed during the original (or ‘rescheduled’) appointment time, and then I couldn’t get a hold of anyone on the phone to give me any answers.
The reason the service is less handy than you think is that you have to BE AT HOME for them to work on the car. It’s like waiting on a cable guy. Then, if they don’t have the tools necessary to fix the car, you’re still going to have to pay them for the work they did AND pay to have it towed in to a garage.
My suggestion: tow the car to an actual garage. It will save you time and money.
