I really wanted to like this place. The first time I went there, I was surprised that drinks are about $ 2 more than other bars on the same street. That’s maybe forgivable, I guess. However, I was there one night a few months ago, there were less than 5 people in the bar and I had to wait a pretty long time for a drink. Once the bartender finally took my order, he went to make it, forgot what I asked for and had to come ask me again. Which is fine, it happens, even though it was one drink. The problem is, he was visibly intoxicated. I’m all about having a good time, but you can’t be so drunk behind your own bar that you’re providing terrible service. Fast forward to a few weeks later to a night with the same bartender who’s name I do not know(tall, brown hair, beard, flannel). I was there with a friend and there were less than 3 people in the bar, plus the two of us on the patio. We each had two ciders, I went to close my tab and he said I had no tab. I thought this was very strange as I had not closed it or paid for anything yet. He said it was cool and implied that he had bought our drinks and not to worry. I was very surprised and felt bad since I had no cash to tip. I double checked my credit card statement only to find I had been charged $ 30 for 4 East Ciders and my tab was treated as though it had been walked. No biggie, kind of annoying, but okay. I went back in to ask for a receipt so I could see what happened. Instead of apologizing for closing my tab while I was still in the bar and adding gratuity as though the tab had been walked, he denied ever having closed it. Like vehemently denied having closed my tab, whilst raising his voice at me. He also insisted that he couldn’t get me a receipt and wouldn’t apologize for the situation. It was bizarre, he was visibly drunk again that night and probably embarrassed. Literally all you have to do is apologize and take responsibility and we can all move on with our lives. This entire situation was so rude and unnecessary, I will now be avoiding this establishment like the plague.

I had my Birthday party here and they were insanely chill and nice about us taking over the bar. They let our dog inside since it was freezing outside and were really attentive to my friends. My friends all loved it as well. I will definitely be hanging out there in the summer!

This place sucks balls, if I could I would give it a negative 5 stars. As local Eastsiders we gave this place two tries. Each time they had limited drink selection, they told us they were not going to re-order beer until they sold the ones they had. I also think the owners got lost because they were charging Rainey Street drink prices. To be cool they added a 4 inch pool in the middle of the patio… Major fail!!! The DJ was horrible… I make smoother transitions on DJ Hero. I really wanted this place to be awesome but instead they some how found a way to be douchier.

I was charged $ 22 for two glasses of wine and the bartender was completely unapologetic and rude. I’m sorry, but this is a dive bar not Eddie V’s. If your bar is not busy on a Friday night there is probably a reason why. Definitely will not be coming back.

This place has really stepped up its game since it first opened! I haven’t patroned this place in over a year but, I am really impressed. They no longer have the koosies attached to the ceiling, the patio has been paved, they have better tables and umbrellas outside, they also installed a water feature(not working yet because they are waiting on city permitting-yuck) and the female bartender who was working was way nicer than the other bartenders they used to have. It was a Monday night and she was super friendly, gave recommendations, looked you in the eye when you ordered and didn’t act like you were bothering her when you asked for a drink. Actually she seemed pretty happy to have customers to chat with and seemed to really like her job! Kudos to her! The music playing out on the patio was better than the last time I was there and it really added to the intimate ambiance that made you feel like you were drinking on your own back patio even though there were other guests outside. They have a better selection of beers and ciders however, I wish they would carry the EastCiders honey variety instead of just the original. Parking is never an issues as there is ample street parking and this bar always has clean bathrooms which proves to be difficult to find in Austin! I love the changes that I have seen and will frequent this bar more often since it isn’t overly populated with the East Side hipsters, improved ambiance and great pricing! Excellent neighborhood bar and I am glad to see they have started to brand themselves as that!

Good drinks, good atmosphere. Still finishing their new patio but it’s starting to look good! This bar has everything from beer to wine to specialty cocktails. Worth a visit.

Living on the East side now is opening up all kinds of new places for me. Take this place for example. I never would have known this place existed I didn’t stumble upon it while taking a walk. I love this place for several reasons: 1) Bar isn’t too big so you can reach capacity really quickly, which I like 2) Stage for bands — again, not outrageous which I also like 3) Patio area kicks ass! They have these super cool, huge log benches that looks like they were carved specifically for this place. 4) They have a coozie wall where you can buy a coozie, write your name or whatever obscenities on it, and they’ll keep it there for you. 5) The Gibroni food truck is amazing!!! Plus, they are from Michigan, my home state. These guys also get a fist bump from me for being neighbors with the Jambulance. If you don’t know, now you know, B.

I came here on a Friday night around 10pm and it was busy, but not too packed and finding parking was a piece of cake. I enjoyed it. Our bartender(I think his name was Kyle) seemed to have a genuine care over whether you liked your drink or not. And I really liked mine. I went with the TX Old Fashioned and similar to pizza, you can get one almost anywhere, but few places do it really well. They do here. This was a delicious Old Fashioned and one of the best I’ve had in Austin; thank you Kyle. They also use one big solid ice cube(the way it should be done in my opinion). Given the option of bourbon or rye. I went with bourbon since Kyle said their Old Fashioned is not too sweet to begin with so bourbon works well with it. He was right. We sat outside on their picnic tables and it was a nice backyard relaxed feel very indicative of the Austin experience. They have a food truck on site should you have a hankering to fill your belly. The food truck was Gibroni’s Texitalian Kitchen which I did not try since I’d already eaten. A cool bar with a chill vibe and a great bartender. I’d return.

A whiskey drinker’s paradise. This is my kind of a bar. A superlative collection of every kind of whiskey you can think of. A decent collection of gins and tequilas. A good selection of beers — in cans only. For those of us who have been draught beer-ed to death by microbrew-obsessed Austin and search desperately for decent bottles of distilled stuff this is a healthy re-balancing of the scales. Interesting looking mixed drinks — although I have yet to experiment with their offerings in this department. Very knowledgeable bartenders — who are practically sommeliers of hard spirits. Fine decorating with good looking black tiles behind the bar and Victorian accent lights on the bar. No food — minimal/poor entertainment. Drinking is the order of the day Sounds fine to me! Pour me a shot!

What a unique find this was. It’s a truly simple bar with a nice open patio area. The have a great sense of humor in the cozies they give out. You can write your name on it. Once you have completed your stay, the cozie has a magnet on it so you can chuck to the roof and it sticks on the stainless steel ceiling. Great stuff. Beers were all nice and cold and there was a large selection and the bartender that night made some killer drinks. Later in the evening, a single musician was there performing some great licks on the guitar and some hilarious songs. It’s intimate and fun. A great Sat Day drink place. They have some great events such as a biker night which looks to be a blast. We will definitely be by again.

Love this dive bar. Super chill with a diverse crowd. Bartenders are friendly and laid back. The outdoor seating is a nice place to spend the evening. Inside is dark but not oppressive in the way many bars can be.

I like this place a lot. Parking is easy, on the street. Its a far enough away from the downtown scene, but still close enough for there to be a «scene.» The inside is nice and clean, lots of canned beer selections, however too dark to read what most of them are! We ordered some mixed drinks, which we watched the bartender make. Heavy pours makes me happy! When we arrived there was a live band playing in the corner inside on a very tiny stage. It was much too loud to have a conversation inside due to the music, so we braved the mosquitoes and found a picnic table outside. There weren’t many people outside, but the outside could definitely use some more seating. I liked the patio and the ambiance, the neighbors across the street were people watching us as we people watched them. There was a tiny taco truck serving up food to the patrons of the bar. While we enjoyed this new, laid back indoor/outdoor bar, the live music was annoyingly bad and we left after only one drink. After heading down the street to Gourmand’s for the rest of the evening, when we came back to our car several hours later, there was still live music going on here(different band), and it was just as bad. I would prefer that they quit trying to be a live music venue, its not big enough, the acts chosen don’t fit the scene, and its too loud to talk. If they stopped with the bad music acts, I’d come back sooner. Because the drink selection is great, they have a nice patio and I often like being away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

This place is great! A fabulous addition to the Webberville area(which IMHO is going to explode in 3…2…) and right across from my fave sandwich shop, Gourmands. Though they don’t have a consistent food option, I’d imagine one of those giant Gourmand’s sandwiches would wash down nicely with a beer on their patio. We stopped in here on a Monday night so as you might imagine, we had mostly the place to ourselves. The bartender was nice, funny, chatty and poured heavy — all qualities Iike in dudes and bartenders. We grabbed a spot outside(it’s about 70% outside) and just had a chill evening, sippin’ some beers and gossiping ruthlessly. They’ve taken what could be an awkardly shaped space and turned it into a total neighborhood hangout in the style of Whislers with a low fence, great big outdoor area and hanging light strands. The drinks are cheaper and they’ve got some kind of koozie program where you get a magnetic koozie with your name on it… and then get to leave it? Better go have a beer and get those details for me.

This bar is great, cool taco truck. But the magnetic koozies are genius! Really like the whiskey selection, and the cans are cool too. The bathrooms are nice, all steal walls and a magnet koozies mean no shelf necessary when holding a beer.

Behind this generic«address as name of bar» is a place that carries Angel’s Envy rye and Balcones Single Malt whiskey(!!!), has motorcycles parked inside, and a giant dog-friendly patio. I think I visited only a few days after opening but they were friendly and it seemed like a nice, low-key place.

This Bar is awesome! Huge selection of can beers and tons of whiskey and liquor. Bar tenders are super friendly and huge outdoor seating areas. The owners did an excellent job are creating a neighborhood bar on a street that has a bunch of really cool shit. Rumor is that a food trailer coming in soon. Can’t wait!
