Ben is nothing short of incredible! He takes the time and care to produce quality work, no matter how small the job. He looks out for you, thinks ahead about potential implications, and goes the extra mile. One small example of many: I asked him to move some large appliances from inside my house to somewhere outside, wherever they would fit through the door. He knew they’d be out there for a few days because I’m having floor work done. When I told him about the job, I said we may have to put them out front if they don’t fit through the back door. When he came to do the job, he told me he didn’t even think of putting the appliances out front as an option — too risky. Instead, he’d go through the trouble of dismantling the sliding glass door so they could fit through there and be stored on the back porch. Then I watched him put the fridge on a dolly(which he brought), ratchet the doors closed with a strap and cover the part of the fridge that touched the dolly with a furniture pad(he also brought these items, just in case), and then pause… he forgot to take the ice out. I did that, I told him. Oh, ok. How about the glass shelves? Hmm, no they’re still in there. Well let me un-ratchet the doors so we can get them out… That’s the kind of guy he is, and the kind of care he takes with your things. This may all sound like basics to you, but I’ve worked with 4 or 5 different handyman types in Austin, and Ben is the first to get the basics. And then some. If you already have that handyman, then more power to you, but if you’ve been frustrated with everyone you’ve ever worked with and felt like you’d have to hire someone to clean up after them and repair the damage they do, Ben is your guy.
