This place is very similar in flavor to Freebird’s. They offer Flour, Wheat, Spinach, Cayenne tortillas for the burritos and they offer flour, corn, and crispy corn for the tacos. Cayenne is decent once again on par with the version at Freebird’s. The crispy corn taco shells were disappointing. These seemed like the cheapest, thinnest taco shells ever made — avoid. The meats are pretty standard steak, chicken, pulled pork, and ground beef. My biggest issue here is the 2 dollar increase for the steak when they do not put much meat on the burrito. Overall the steak has good flavor and the chicken falls victim to the same problem as every other burrito place it has no seasoning and just gets lost with the filling. The toppings were fresh and actually are the reason they get 3 stars. Grilled peppers and onions were almost perfect. The pico was fresh but not very spicy. I did not try the rice. Refried beans were ok, nothing special but not bad. All in all if you avoid the steak they are a decent option for a lunch burrito. If you do not mind paying extra for a hint of beef flavor in your taco/burrito then order the steak.

I came here around 3pm and it was totally empty. I ordered the burrito bowl and was surprised that it was served in a Styrofoam to go box instead of an actual bowl, because the staff said that they had run out of bowls. That’s really no big deal to me because I’m mainly judging on food, but when your biggest competitor is Chipotle, you really need to step up your presentation game. The food quality wasn’t bad, but I would pick Chipotle over Bullritos just because you get more food at Chipotle for around the same price.

Ok, so I get the veggie burrito bowl and it is so much better than the competitors and less expensive. Seriously, the ingredients are super fresh, the bowls they use don’t get soggy and their staff is super friendly! I’m a fan! Try them! I think you’ll agree!

We popped into this place at 8 on a Tuesday and it was dead, so we didn’t get a chance to order with the bags because — why not just tell the three guys behind the counter what we wanted? I got 3 tacos — 2 chicken, 1 ground beef, and piled on salsas and veggies and pico and just a little bit of the spicy ranch. My husband got the street taco combo with one of each. We had a lot of stuff to try. Here’s a play by play. The good: –Chicken was tasty. –Tortillas were fresh, and on corn, they came two to a taco, so you could split up your inevitably overstuffed taco into 2 if you’d like. –Spicy ranch. Noms. –Fajita veggies –Pico was super fresh –The chips were delicious and fresh. Needed salt, but that’s easy to fix. Grab a salt packet if you’re getting to go, just in case. The …eh?: –Ground beef was ok, but nothing spectacular. I’d probably not get it again. –The red salsa was really bland, I’d try the other one next time. Nothing I had was in the bad category, so I’ll call that a win. A quick, satisfying meal I would get again, for reals.

I’ve been in search of an AMAZING burrito foreverrrr & I’ve finally found it!!! This is the best burrito I’ve had in a long time but i can say it was worth the wait! Staff is freindly, food is great, & there is free soft serve ice cream for those who eat ice cream. I had a grilled chicken burrito in a spinach tortilla with borracho beans, Spanish rice, grilled peppers & onions, shredded cheese, salsa, lettuce, grilled corn, tomato, lime juice, & sour cream. I also got a frozen lemonade that tastes just like what it sounds like… FROZENLEMONADE… I’ve been to some places where it has a slightly off flavoring but this does not. totally forgot to take a picture b/c I was soooo tempted to dig in & eat it! I am very satisfied!!! Definitely making this a regular spot!!!

First time here, I liked this place for a quick workday lunch. Would give 3.5 stars. No line on a Friday at noon, similar menu/ordering style to Chipotle. I ordered 3 steak tacos, they doubled the tortillas and they were made with ultimate care. The steak was really good – cooked to medium tenderness, tasty and fresh. Grilled onions/peppers on top were perfectly cooked(not limp and soggy!) Loved the beans(seasoned!) but prefer just a bit less salt. Yummy pico. Rice was fine, nothing special. Add a fountain soda for $ 12.50. I’ll be back for the pulled pork and will likely try a bowl next time. Super nice people, clean establishment, plenty of parking.

This place is awesome! I go here and get the vegetarian/vegan burrito or bowl several times a week. The food is always fresh, fast, and cheap. The staff is polite and professional. The only fast food place I’ll go to.

Overall, this place is OK, but I’d rather pay a little extra and go to chipotle. The which wich concept is nice if you get a burrito, but otherwise it seems like an antisocial way to waste paper. The chips had a somewhat strange, rice-like flavor and the queso was OK. The pulled pork and pinto beans had good flavor. The pico was nice and fresh which is actually hard to find– most places, the pico is watery and blah. I’d probably go back for some of their daily discounts.

Second time I’ve been in, and I’m impressed! Very flavorful food and obviously fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is unremarkable but is clean and pleasant. I’m really big on cleanliness! I got the pulled pork burrito bowl, and it’s delicious. The meat is super moist and tender as well as bursting with savory goodness. Even the beans are good, which are ignored as an afterthought at some Mexican/texmex restaurants. The vegetables are fresh and crunchy, and the pico adds and bright spicy note to the rich meat. The dining area and kitchen appear to be very clean, including the booth seats – again something often ignored in restaurants. The staff is friendly. I even like the classic rock they’re playing softly in the background! Very good experience, and I’ll be back fo sho.

Love this place. They are options galore. Their pinto beans are tasty. Spicy Cilantro cream sauce is amazing. If only they add tofu as one of the meats… I will be there everyday.

In short: I hate this place. I didn’t think anything could be worse than Qdoba. But alas, Bullritos proved me wrong. Their food is awful, and the experience is confounding. Bullritos is a bizarre hybrid of Which Wich and Chipotle. They’ve ripped off the most inventive parts of these businesses and turned them into major hindrances. When you walk in, there’s a sign that tells you what to do: you’re supposed to get a bag and mark off what you want to order(a la Which Wich). Then, you’re supposed to take the order form to the counter. Instead of looking at the order form, they make me go through the line and point out exactly what I marked off on the form(a la Chipotle). Their workers are clueless and can’t properly expedite the orders. It’s a huge bloody mess. I’m pretty sure they won’t survive. Is it terrible that I kind of hope they won’t?

Oh wow. Maybe because it was a Sunday, but all I can say is nasty. My pulled pork was dry but it seemed like it had been soaked in some juice to moisten it up. The tortilla was cold. The salsa was at the very bottom of the burrito so you could not taste it. It’s a knockoff of Chipotle but like the leftovers from there and reheated 2 weeks later. Stay away!

EDIT: 08/31/2014 I am updating my review to reflect my last experience. Now when this place first opened they really brought it with their generous portions and fresh ingredients. But this last visit was just awful. Reason? The food portions. I ordered a burrito bowl, no rice, extra beans with steak and lettuce mix. You’d think that I would have gotten generous portions of beans since I skipped out on rice, but nope. It was less than a regular serving. We get to the meat… the server reaches in and gets a nice scoopful of steak and then starts to shake the scoop. Some meat falls off… then shakes it again… more meat falls off… shakes it again… the scoop was pretty much below a full level and he then sprinkled it on top of the beans. It was an insult, especially when their stores in Houston almost always and consistently serve great portions. But this… this was like a side salad with barely any steak. Felt more like a snack rather than a meal. Now I know times are tough and food costs are a factor but that’s no excuse. If you’re going to charge a premium price for a product then it’s only fair that the quality and consistency of the product shine through. That was not the case the last time I went and even the friends I had with me were like«Dude, I thought you said this place was good… I get better portions at Chipotle and Freebirds.» It was pretty embarrassing for me since i hyped Bullritos up so much too. Just hope next time they’ve gotten their act together. JC. /END EDIT I am a huge fan of burrito joints, and although none of the mainstream joints like this are taqueria style burritos they’re good enough for me. I’ve been to them all… Chipotle, Bullritos and Freebirds and I gotta be honest about 2 things that Bullritos does right. 1. Serving size and portions. Every time I’ve gone in there to order a burrito it comes out significantly bigger than Chipotle’s burritos. They aren’t cheap when it comes to stuffing the burrito at all! And why should they be? I mean you’re paying a premium price for a premium product! 2. Freshness and variety! They have a Cayenne Pepper tortilla now! Man, I could go for one right now! But they have spinach and regular style too. Every time I’ve ordered, their meats and veggies have been served hot and fresh. The pulled pork tastes awesome… and they even offer fresh or pickled jalapeños! I get better and friendlier service here then I do at most Chipotle locations. Their only real competition is Freebirds, which I think also serves a great product with great service as well. And like any counter service eatery, if I have a problem with my order I politely ask for a manager to correct it before I pass final judgement on the place. Real restaurants have a one shot chance to do it right… places like this I’m a bit more lenient. But so far I’ve been impressed every time. Keep up the good work! And hurry up and get that soft serve ice cream cone machine in place!!!

Solid burritos, with more bang for your buck than Chipotle! I’ve loved both my meals here so far. I recommend the Carne Guisada since its not something offered at the other chain burrito joints around here. The guacamole and queso are both delicious. The habanero-tomatillo is both flavorful and spicy! The flavored tortillas, same choices as Freebirds, are also great. I’m happy to add this place to my dinner rotation, but I don’t like not being able to order a smaller burrito(these come just a bit bigger than one from Chipotle!), and I wish they had some more landmark sauces. Its also a little awkward to stand there while they assemble your burrito– you hand them the bag with your choices and you have to wait around until they are done with it and ready to ring you up. It doesn’t completely ding the experience, but it does make it a little less smooth.

Just stopped into Bullrito’s for the first time. My husband and I think… meh. Really meh. We won’t be going back. Place is very clean and everyone was nice. I don’t really have any complaint about having to order on the bag, though it’s a pretty inefficient way of doing things — a lot faster at Qdoba or Chipotle where you just say what you need as you walk down the line, right? Whatever. My complaints are about taste and attention paid by staff. My burrito was made on the wrong kind of tortilla(they have choices like Regular Flour, Spinach, and Cayenne), with some added topping I hadn’t asked for. The order is literally written down for the burrito-maker right there! The person making the burrito was chatting the whole time with other people so I guess he just wasn’t paying attention. When I brought it to the attention of the person ringing us up, they were like«oh…shit.» Yea, bummer. Anyways, mistakes happen, but after getting the correct order without any apology, I was really disappointed in the taste. I got a steak burrito with guac, sour cream, pico de gallo, black beans and cheese. The tortilla was sticky to the point that it was stuck to the foil wrapper so when i opened it up the burrito ripped in multiple spots. The steak was really lacking in flavor, not like Qdoba or Chipotle where you can tell that the meat is marinated. It tasted like the meat you get in a frozen microwavable burrito. Otherwise definitely fresh ingredients, but it’s hard to make a good burrito when your meat is blah. Meh.

Had been told about Bullrito’s from my friends in the Houston area. When I saw one had popped up in the old Qdoba location I decided to give it a try. I decided to try it twice before giving a review, and it was pretty solid. 1st visit a few weeks ago – I popped in on my lunch break. Walked up to the counter only to be told I needed to fill out my bag. Um, what? So their ordering system is a bit wonky. Since I was already at the counter I was told I could order a plate, since that didn’t require filling out a bag. Strange. I ordered a carne guisada plate, and took it to go. It was flavorful. Dayum good, way better than I expected it to be. Plate came with beans and rice – both standard and three tortillas. On my 2nd visit yesterday – I decided to try a burrito and their bag ordering system. I filled out my bag and approached the counter. It’s a bit bizarre because as you’re waiting in line folks are holding their bags. No one moves until the person behind the counter asks for your bag. They take your bag, and there is really no interaction. They look at the bag, and scoop, scoop your burritos filling. Maybe I just enjoy human interaction like I get at Freebird’s but I really think the bag thing is a bit unnecessary. My chicken burrito was the size of a small child, and I enjoyed it. I only wish that you could choose the size of your burrito – they only come in one size, ginormous. It’s good to have another spot in the area for lunch.

Whenever I go to Houston, I try to make it to Bullrito’s. I’ve always liked their burritos and found them to be a massive improvement over Chipotle. So, I was definitely excited when I saw Chris B’s review which meant I had a Bullrito’s right by my house. So, things I like… I love the ordering on the bag. Makes things so easy. Good iced tea and there are plenty of lemons and limes for the tea.(Good iced tea is important to this Texan…) Tonight’s experience was a mixed bag. The food tasted like the other locations. My burrito was good and one of my dining companions said her salad bowl improved a great deal once she mixed/tossed it. Bad things — this location apparently got slammed by several large crowds. We ended up waiting quite a while for our food, although with repeated apologies from the staff. What was more concerning was how disorganized the order-filling was. At least one other group got their order made as they placed it, while we received assurances that our order was going to be ready in five minutes. The staff tonight would’ve really benefited from having a manager on site to help keep things rolling. Final notes — unlike the Houston locations, this location does not have a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine nor do they have a soft-serve ice cream machine. Also, I hope you like TV — they’ve got probably as many TVs around the place as some sports bars… Decent food, haphazard(although nice) service. Definitely a mixed verdict. Will require a second visit to figure out what’s going on here.

I found Bullritos 2 days ago and have been going everyday since those two days. I actually stumbled upon it when I wanted to go to Qdoba and redeem my free entrée(not because I love qdoba, but because I just wanted a free meal I earned and I hadn’t been to qdoba in months…) I was surprised to see a brand new place decked in red and flat screens everywhere and walked in with my boyfriend to try out the new place and give it a chance. Not knowing what to expect, we were confused at first and I saw bags with markers on the side immediately to the left when you come in. WHICHWICH + CHIPOTLE/QDOBA combination = LOVE. Prices are in the $ 6.50-$ 9 range, includes beer + margaritas yay!!! Their chips and salsa are so much better than Qdoba’s too. I was too excited and bubbled in my selection and side tip, DRAWONTHEBACKOFYOURBAGDURINGPEAKHOURSSOYOUKNOWWHATBAGISYOURSANDWHEREYOURORDERSTANDSDURINGPEAKHOURS!(this is what I do at which wich and will be doing at bullritos forever now too!) When I ate the first time we ate«for here» and they said we’d pay after we got our order, so we sat eating chips til our names were called but the next day I came back and ordered to go, we paid up front. A bit confusing but not sure how the system goes. I’ll stop by again to try and see what it’s like as I go more often. Service and people working there are nice though new, I can insert an as they just opened. Love the bowls, on par with Chipotle and way better than Qdoba. I don’t have to point and tell them what I want, my order is made to what my paper bag states yay! :-) Note: will need to go back to try the entrees outside the burritos and burrito bowls.

Hey look at that… Qudoba closed. I am so surprised! Anywhoooo… another chain restaurant counter service burrito place has moved into the old space and boy what an improvement it is. Bullritos is what happens when Which Which and Chipotle make the sexy time and have a cute little burrito baby. They have a few predetermined menu items to choose from, but it looks like their bread & butter(or Tortilla & Salsa if you will) is the Which Which style of: «write what you want on a bag and we’ll slap it together». This style of ordering works well for me and the speed in which the food was prepared was quite quick. The food itself is pretty decent. The ingredients seemed like they were pretty fresh. They have a visible grill in the kitchen, so I assume they are grilling all their own meats and they don’t arrive pre-made in a bag, so that’s a bonus. The big winner for me was their Habenero Tomatillo Salsa. Man, that stuff was pretty good. It’s got just enough spice to add a lot of flavor without being overpowering. Before this gets too long, I’ll just say when I saw this place was moving in I was worried that this place would be just as bad and bland as Qudoba was. I am glad to see that I worried for nothing. I will definitely be back to try more stuff. Especially since this is right by my work and my house! Yay for more options in the neighborhood! Oh yeah… they also have Beer and Margaritas! I didn’t try the Margaritas yet though. I will have to report back later on those.
