I was at Carson Creek Ranch for Untapped Fest in April 2015. The location is great — just along Carson Creek, it’s very scenic and beautiful! HOWEVER — this place is a nightmare if you’re there for a crowded event! Because of the left turn off of 183 you have to do to get here, it took us about 1.5 hours just to turn. Literally, we sat there for an hour and a half! 183 was so backed up! Then once we got onto Dalton Road — people were just parking on the street to avoid having to pay the $ 10 parking fee. All in all, it took us 2 hours to get there and park! CRAZY. Then(and, I’ll admit this isn’t the fault of Carson Creek Ranch) later in the evening a horrible storm passed through Austin — and it started to rain HARD and then HAIL. People had no where to go to escape the rain! We were lucky and happened to be in our car already when the rain started, but everyone else got DRENCHED. We let some people get into the back seat to escape the rain and hail! I’m sure I’d love this place for a festival if only they could make it easier to get to!

Carson Creek Ranch is an outdoor venue for concerts, festivals, charities, etc. It’s located near the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and downtown Austin, probably within 10 minutes. Recently, I came here due to Euphoria Music & Camping Festival. Without the stages and tents, Carson Creek Ranch is a 58-acre ranch. essentially an open field. I thought it was great for an outdoor event. I’m sure it accommodates about 40,000 fans who come to see their favorites. There were a lot of food, bar, and varying businesses for the festival. We had to pay $ 10 for dirt lot parking daily, but I’m sure parking changes for each event. Camping grounds were pretty awesome too! I would choose the option of camping out here versus booking a hotel nearby. Place is mostly clean, so staff does a dandy job cleaning the next morning. There were 2 different locations staffed with plenty of port-a-potties. The only downside of Carson Creek Ranch is getting to the place. You have to drive carefully to make sure you don’t miss ‘Old Bastrop Highway’ because the sign is tiny.

I attended a fund-raiser here for a local charity. This isn’t so much a «venue» as it is an «open field with electricity available from somewhere». I’m not going to one-star it, because the event was decent and the ground was level, but there’s not much more to review that’s part of the«venue» and not brought by the event.
