alteration work is about the same as any other places, but the price is not. 3 stars for the work and turn around time — 1 star for the price = 2 stars.

Went there for the first time to have my clothes cleaned only last week — picked them up today. The clothes look GREAT! But I’m writing the review because when I walked in the door, it was like Kim was expecting me! She called me by name, she was hugging one of her customers as he was leaving and she was just so nice. I like people who brighten my day like that! Found my new dry cleaners!

I got a sewing machine for Christmas. … Yeah. End of chapter 1. Chapter 2: I needed some pants hemed, so I went to Chau’s on recommendation. If you want an extra grandma, or if you haven’t had one around lately, go see Chau. I called to see if she was open, and she said sure honey, come over, bring pants. She sounded pleased to have me drop by her small strip-mall shop! My heart all a-flutter, I drove to see gra… Chau, pants in tow. If I could sit with her while she sewed up my pants, that would be the icing on the cake. I dropped off a pair of pants to hem shorter, and one pair that needed to be longer. When I went to pick them up a few days later, I noticed a sign out front indicating it’s $ 10 for pant hems, and replayed her voice in my head from when I dropped them off. «The hem-out pants will cost a little more.» No problem. More talking, and family pictures! How sweet! I paid, got my pants, and merrily drove home. After the grandma fairy dust had worn off, I checked out the receipt: $ 27.00 for both pants. How’d that happen? Sigh. Chapter 3: Learn how to use sewing machine. Go to Chau’s in the meantime.

Chau can do anything you need in the way of alterations. Kim does hems for $ 10, fixes seams for $ 6 and does more complicated work for equally reasonable prices. She’s the best and she doesn’t try to rip you off like so many other places might do. On a good day, she may even beat her own prices. Whether it’s invisible stitching, elaborate re-cuts or just something simple, I trust this lady to do it right and match the colors perfectly. Open ’til 5:30 weekdays and 11 – 4 on Saturday. I haven’t tried the cleaning service, but I highly recommend the alterations.
