I started coming here every week in January of this year. I was a total beginner at meditation and felt welcomed and comfortable at the center. My meditation practice has become deeper and more meaningful, and I have definitely noticed a positive change in my life.
This is a great community for anyone interested in meditation, calming your mind, and Buddhist teachings in general. The teachings are clear and extremely applicable to your daily life. They welcome everyone! Sunday morning «Prayers for World Peace» are the best place for a beginner or newcomer to start out (in my opinion), but the Tuesday night meditation class is also great. It’s a little shorter and usually a smaller group.
Overall, this center is awesome – and it’s run by a diverse and warm group of people. The resident teacher is incredibly inspiring (she’s an ordained Buddhist nun). Drop by one Sunday morning to see for yourself.

I have been going to Chittamani Kadampa Buddhist Center for a many years now and am currently on one of the study programs there. I absolutely love it. The community is really nice and welcoming, and the main teacher, a western Buddhist nun, is just great. The classes are on different topics of Buddhist theory, philosophy, practice and meditation and include guided meditations, teachings and discussions. The books sold in the bookstore are the clearest and most complete set of Buddhist texts I have found in the english language. Highly recommended!
