I’m new to Austin and was looking for a hair salon near where I live and work. I say«was» because the search is over! I tried another local salon before this, went in hoping for something that had more«style» than my existing long, wavy, somewhat layered cut. I came out of that other salon with basically a trim, loaded with product(which I’m not a fan of), and only slightly more«style» than when I came in. Not so with my visit to Chuck Edwards. My appointment was with Brittany, and we had a great little chat about hair and life and work. In this profession I think chit-chat skills are a must, and I was happy to find a hairdresser who is talented in this way as well. My haircut itself is fabulous. I had been thinking of a long, layered bob – quite a style change – and Brittany cut it so that it moves and curls just perfectly. Minimal product and fussing required. I get compliments on it frequently and feel like a million bucks. I’ll definitely be going back! I also liked that the prices were listed on their site. Currently runs $ 50 for a cut and style. Making an appointment online was a plus.

Katy Lee is Amazing. She is a great listener, and is very good at helping me communicate with her the look I wanted to accomplish. She knows how to modify a haircut to give it the«workability» you need for a simple classic cut that’s easy to maintain. My haircut turned out perfect. She even gave tips on haircare and maintenance. Can’t wait til my next visit with her! She’s highly recommended!

My appointment was with Katy. She is simply amazing! She was very welcoming and friendly. She listened to exactly what I wanted and while we ended up doing some experimenting with my color she always made sure I was comfortable with everything. I am so happy with the way my hair turned out! I will definitely be back, I highly recommend Katy!!!

In general the color is good but the stylists are rude and unaccommodating. Stephanie does good color but it’s clear she won’t be bothered going above and beyond. impersonal and the«salon» experience is transactional.

I’ve been a client of Chuck Edwards and his salons since Chuck rented out a chair in Clarksville about 5 years ago. In the past year or so, I have taken a really low-maintenance approach to my hair — after years of ombré-ing, getting my hair back to normal color, brazilian blowouts and the like, I decided it was really time to let my hair just get back to its usual self(for hair health and wallet’s sake.) However, those that live in Austin know that this past Spring and Summer have been unseasonably wet which translates to humid… which translates to frizz… which translates to kink and just… no. Luckily for me, Chuck’s salons offer a great deal on Brazilain Blowouts every 3 – 4 months or so. I tried to book with Chuck this past week, however, he was busy so put my head in the hands of one of ACE’s(the new Chuck Edwards salon) newer stylists, Rémi. So this review is generally about this newer salon and the fabulous hair scientist/stylist that is Rémi Do. Holy heck this guy know what he is doing. Having had about 9 brazilian blowouts since I waas about 19, I typically am prepared to have somewhat matted down(but frizzless) hair after a brazilian blowout. BUTNOTWITHRÉMI. Rémi’s specialties are many(fun cuts, vibrant color and au naturale) but touts texture as one of his top skills, having taught at Paul Mitchell for years. I am over the moon with my hair which, one day off of the blowout, is frizzless but alive — with volume AND light wave. It all really boils down to I don’t think that you can go wrong at this salon. I’ve really been a longtime fan of Chuck regardless, but now am thrilled to report that Rémi is fabulous and I can only imagine that the other stylists follow suit. Thank you, Rémi and ACES! :)
