Cover 3 offers a good central location to meet your friends and watch a sports game. They have several TV’s and if you ask your waiter they will turn the sound on for you. The food is great, especially the appetizers and the calamari is done perfectly, which can actually be quite difficult as most places tend to overcook. One gripe might be the hours. On a Friday night the kitchen closes at 11pm and the establishment closes at 12am, so this may put a wrench in your plans if you get there later in the evening. Overall though a good place to hang and enjoy great food.

I have a gluten allergy and they just don’t have a big selection of gluten free food. I ended up getting a salad and it was good. very fresh and tasty. It had avocado, bacon, chicken and a few other things. I ate every last bite. The others that were with me loved there meal also. I would just suggest you add a few more gluten free choices. As far as a place to grab a drink. I think it would be perfect.

My husband and I were here on a Sunday to watch a few games — it was crazy busy — we expected that, so no problem. However, the hostess clearly cannot handle her job. She couldn’t really tell us how long the wait would be «not that long»…um okay? And she never left her stand to check for tables or whatever she needs to do. We stood there for 10 minutes as I stared at over five empty tables. Finally a manager(or who I assume was a manager) comes up and asks if she(the hostess) is seating the open tables. She said she didn’t know any were open. Maybe because it seems no one has been checking? I don’t know what their system is for this, but clearly it’s broken. We wait about five more minutes without being sat and finally just grab a seat in the bar when one opened. The service when we were finally waiting on was slow, but I get they were busy. The food was good, but nothing remarkable. Based on the other reviews I’ve read, the service really needs improvement here and I can definitely see that from my visit.

AAAAHHHHMazing foor, and great service. Prices are a little steep but its worth it. We set on the patio on a cold day but they turned the heaters on for us and the doggie. There was anything that I had or tried that I didn’t like. Only disappointment of the day was me dropping my to-go box on the way to the car. Love this place. Keep it up cover 3. Oh and btw the french toast is BOOOOMB

I’ve been to this location once and it was great just like the one on Anderson lane. Decent parking for a downtown location on top of that. :)

Came here on a Saturday around 12:30. Put our name down for a table, ended up getting some quicker seating at the bar. Place was somewhat busy, like any sports bar/restaurant during a college game day… The service is lackluster here, ask the 6 person table behind us who waited 40 minutes from the time the server took their credit card to close out till the time they spent standing and finally being able to leave. Bar service is a little less wait time, but still pretty bad. Ordered two glasses of wine… Lipstick on one glass, she noticed it as she was walking over, grabbed another glass and poured the wine into it below the bar. As if we couldn’t see this? Hands the new glass over… Lipstick again, seriously? Wow. Ordered the seafood tower, pretty decent, little too heavy on the avocado, and needed a little more crab, sauces were tasty, but it came with stale chips on the side. Grabbed two filets, one ordered medium, and one ordered medium rare. Both came out medium, but for 25 bucks per filet, who can complain. Could it have been better? Yes. Did their filet have a higher than normal fat content? Yes. The gorgonzola butter could have been left off. And the Sautéed Spinach was barely sautéed at all, but the dressing was flavorful. All in all, just know what to expect when coming here, maybe not order the higher menu items, and stick to bar food staples. It’s a cool spot for games, but the service just needs to be better and more attentive to their surroundings… A solid 3 star spot when busy, maybe 3.5−4 when not busy? Who knows.

I enjoyed this place. It was a sports bar with delicious food at a fairly reasonable price. Located in kind of an awkward spot though so be wary of that. They have a parking garage so that’s really nice not having to worry about finding a spot. They were playing baseball, all the football games, and the patrons were loud at the appropriate times. I ordered the Big Tex burger and it was really good, tasty, and had a unique twist on burgers by adding a fried tortilla on there. The fries. Jesus those fries were impressive. I’m not a big fan of french fries and I ate every single one. Didn’t share any with my fiancé that’s how good they were. My fiancé and another friend ordered the wings and said they were pretty good but not that spicy. I’ve got one major complaint. I went to poop. There was no toilet paper. Guys, you can’t leave a soldier stranded with no TP at such a critical moment! Other than that the restroom was very clean and they had the most interesting faucets I’ve ever seen in a restaurant.

Cool, upscale bar off 6th street in Austin. Nice bar area, great for games. I am heading there Thursday to see if service is better because that is why I have this currently at 3. Opening weekend for football it was packed. It was hot in the restaurant and service was super slow. Food orders took 90 – 100 minutes! Ridiculous. People reaching over you at bar from every direction. Prices are decent on drinks and food and the happy hour deals look great. The food we had was good, excellent quality, even though very late. Will update this soon. Great place to see attractive and successful people! Excellent Valet service that was 5 stars!

So I’m going to go ahead and say no, just no. And the sad thing is I thought I liked cover 3. The problem is this location has all the potential in the world. Phenom bar. Decent food… but the service is horrible… that or they just can’t handle a large influx of people on a busy game day. Maybe a seated table would be better, but honestly I’m not sure. Those servers too seemed overwhelmed. I’d say try it out for a meal. Not a cheap meal, but a moderately priced meal, but definitely don’t hit this up for a sporting event.

I came here for dinner last weekend and was quite impressed by the food and service at Cover 3. My boyfriend and I were enticed by the 2 for 1 burger/enchilada deal that is offered Sunday — Tuesday at the downtown location. We decided to order the Hickory Burger with bacon, cheddar cheese and hickory sauce and the Big Tex Burger with guacamole, black beans, and a tostada. Both burgers were delicious and juicy. The burgers normally come with fries or slaw, but we opted for the asian veggies to get a little health on the side. Luckily these were delicious as well and were not the bland steamed veggies that are sadly added to some menus to offer 1 healthy option. With the delicious food and variety of healthy options, Cover 3 makes my list of best sports bars in Austin. The brunch menu looks awesome so this will be a great place for Sunday football days in the fall.

Let’s see. I’m not a sports fan, I don’t care for bars and I don’t like wide screen tvs while I’m eating. So why do I come back? The food and the staff! I had another salad. They are huge! This time we checked out some desserts. I was too full to order my own but I did get bites of my co-diners. The key lime pie was creamy and delicious. So what do I do next time when I know I need to leave room for dessert??? Oh, this time we had Jeni to serve us. Great service. So now the question is the next time I go do I ask for Jeni or Cali or see what some of the other wait staff are like. Decisions, decisions!

So this place is an upscale sports bar. Which is actually a really cool thought. It’s not dingy and grungy like the wing places that claim to be the best place to watch all of your favorite sports… and most likely catch a case of food poisoning. Cover 3 is a great date spot, that happens to be playing all your favorite sports. The attire is generally business casual because of the working class who come to enjoy it, but it’s a casual all are welcome place. The food is delicious. The buffalo chicken sandwich I had literally melted in my mouth, it was so tender and the bun that soft. The queso was absolutely delightful and OMG — The Reuben. The prime location right of of 6th and Mopac makes it’s so easy to get to and get home. I live up North, so it’s about 500 feet from the on ramp to Mopac. They have their own parking! And even a sign out front that says so. It’s so refreshing to have no worries about meeting friends on time. Have I mentioned it’s affordable? The may serve tons of delectable stuff, but they won’t make you take out a second mortgage for it. I could go on, but just go see for yourself!

While I’ve heard good things about this place for some time now, It wasn’t until recently that I had the opportunity to try it. While I was there I enjoyed a wide range of drinks and food items which left me impressed, both with the quality of food and service. While everything tasted great, the Cover 3 Press drink was without a doubt our table’s favorite. The drink was smooth, light and super refreshing. Perfect for a hot summer day. The margarita was also great, but the Cover 3 Press takes the win on this one. Chicken Wings: The chicken wings were well seasoned, crispy and had a perfect balance between spicy and seasoning. I’ll definitely be getting them again. Ruben Sandwich/Buffalo Chicken Slider: The Ruben sandwich and buffalo chicken slider were both great tasting sandwiches with soft bread and plenty of meat. The Ruben had just the right amount of each ingredient so nothing was overpowering which isn’t always the case. The buffalo chicken slider had soft sourdough bread and was large for a slider which would be perfect for sharing. The sauce was similar to Plucker’s in flavor and about a mild in spice level. Scallops/Fish Tacos: The scallops were perfectly cooked and had bacon and asparagus on top along with a light yellow sauce. The bacon provided a subtle but noticeable flavor that complimented the scallops well. The fish tacos were good, but nothing out of this world. I’m a tough critic for fish tacos because I’ve tried the best from the Pacific coast so it doesn’t mean they’re bad, just not the best I’ve had.(Fat Fish in San Diego is my favorite right now!!). Brunch: They mentioned a $ 4 make your bloody mary bar with Titos Vodka so i’ll probably be there this Sunday. Overall I left full and impressed and would highly recommend coming here for food and/or during a sporting event because they have tons of TVs. Also there is plenty of parking!(they have a parking garage). While the food was great both in taste and quality the attentive staff was amazing and made this a 5 star review.

I’ve never had a bad experience at Cover 3. It’s true. It’s like a fancy sports bar, and though I am definitely not a fancy person, I like to pretend like I am sometimes. The food is way better than your typical sports bar. Like, even if you don’t want to watch sports, it’s a good place to come eat. And drink. They have a good selection of beers and drinks and it’s all in all just a swell time. Plus, there is parking, which the older I get… the more I realize I really like parking… And service is always spot on. Granted, we always sit at the bar, because again, not very fancy over here… but they’re always super nice and accommodating. Usually the manager comes by and sees how everything is which is always a pleasant experience. Good job Cover 3 — definitely going to be back come football season!

Always a win in my book — The food is great — service is pretty easy going, and the atmosphere is enjoyable… I like the appetizers over the main entrée’s, the entrees are a bit pricey for the dishes… just my opinion though. Perfect spot for a good beer and a snack.

Cover 3 is advertised as a Neighborhood Sports Bar and they deliver on that promise. Good food, good drinks, reasonable prices, and an abundance of TV’s. Anytime you are looking for good pub food and a good place to watch the game you should definitely consider Cover 3. Additionally, the downtown Cover3 restaurant is offering buy-one-get-one burgers on Sunday, Monday & Tuesday so you can’t beat that.

Cover 3 is the perfect place for excellent food, 5 star service and amazing drinks. I recently hosted a large party in their private room area, and everyone had a fantastic time. Cover 3 is so classy, professional, clean and fitted for every occasion. Every detail was covered. Our servers were 100% attentive to everyone’s needs and did a really great job coordinating the food. Despite the large group, every person was taken care of with perfect attention. Water glasses were always filled and empty plates were immediately removed. The food was hot, on time and insanely delicious! I didn’t realize the range and variety of options, I couldn’t have asked for a perfect menu. The cocktail drinks were equally as tasty. They have such a wide selection, you will always find your drink of choice! Whether you need a good happy hour drink, a delicious dinner or a place to have a blast with your friends, cover 3 is the BEST!

Cover 3 has such wonderful food and impressive wine list I forget it is also a sports bar! This new location of Cover 3 has ample garage parking, conveniently just off MoPac and is huge. The décor is nice with black booths and dark wood. Service both visits were exceptional. My first experience at this Cover 3 was during a soft opening event. We sampled variety of delicious bites. Some of my favorites were the Doug’s reuben, savory bacon wrapped scallop, the beautifully plated Hong Kong salmon and the ahi tuna salad with udon noodles. My second visit I found a spot at the bar and was happy to find purse hooks! I ordered a Sauvignon Blanc and the chilled shrimp and crab tower. The gorgeous dish had layers of delicious seafood and fresh avocado accompanied by dots of sauces on the side that complimented the dish perfectly. It also was accompanied by a nice mixed greens salad with a tangy dressing. The highlight of the restaurant space to me is the dog friendly patio with communal seating. The patio has both fans and overhead heaters making it accessible year round. And if you sit outside there are TVs so you wont miss the game! If you like bloody Mary bars you will love the Cover 3’s spread! The bloody Mary bar and brunch are available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Cover 3? YESPLEASE!!! This spot is what we’ve all been waiting for! Thank goodness there’s a new decent sports bar in downtown Austin. I know there are a few places to watch games throughout the DT area, but nothing like this. I’ve been to the Cover 3 up off Anderson Lane dozens of times, but the layout of this spot is PERFECTION. TV’s Everywhere… all over the restaurant, bar, and several out on the patio as well. The décor is great too… they did a massive redesign from what was in this location before them. We came in on New Year’s Day to watch several of the Bowl Games and to nurse our hangovers from New Year’s Eve. Luckily we got there just in time, as this place filled up quick! We sat right down and the staff immediately helped us get situated with what games we wanted turned on the screens in our area. Very accommodating, which was very much appreciated! Our server was great throughout our time there, and was quite attentive. He had a great personality too, bringing us funny notes along with our drinks that had us dying laughing. The food is great too. Not your typical bar food. Order the Nachos — most gourmet nachos I’ve ever had! Plus the shrimp quesadillas are the bomb. Several other menu items looked great — so I will definitely be back for more! Way to go Cover 3, very happy to welcome you to the neighborhood :)
