NOWIFI. The coffee is fine, theyvhave beer, but what is the point of a coffee shop without wifi?

Service is one of those things that goes unnoticed until it becomes an issue. I came here after having seeing their cans of coffee all over Austin and hearing that they have good coffee and a cool vibe and environment. This is all true — there is plenty of seating both indoors and out, their coffee is pretty solid, the feel is very trendy, and their baristas double as bartenders serving local beer. They even have free dog treats. Still, the pretentiousness in tone and body language I was met with when ordering their mill king milk was unacceptable, the barista showing clear annoyance that I had just ordered that without any coffee. That experience, in addition to the fact that their coffee by itself also isn’t the best, leaves me to this rating.

This high octane good bean coffee shop might be a little yuppy for its own good in morphing east Austin. It has a clean upscale sterility of Josh Hartnets dot com office in 40 days and 40 nights. Even the should be Grrrrl powered short haired feminist at the counter was more of a corporate zombie clone than a lucid bright 21st century goddess you’d expect from the supposed hot bed of Austin’s multiculturalism. Sleek designer wallpaper, and wood table workstations you might see from an ad in Dwell magazine added a sort of soulless sterility to the sleepy Monday morning of East Austin. The outdoor perch is a narrow slab of sidewalk in front of Cuvee, which is sadly non smoking. Rich and clean espresso based drinks and filtered pour overs hold as the mainstay of this Silicon Valley Starbucks. I had hopped that their food options would extend past the requisite pastry, which seemed to be hiding under the cashier station. Coffee — 4 – 5 stars Ambiance — a little soulless for my taste but clean and tidy — 3 stars Service — a bit cold — 2 stars

Espresso choices give this area an advantage over other stops for lattes. I enjoy the 8 ounce since I can appreciate the sophistication of the espresso without an excessive amount of resentment. The inside is not warm and enticing, and the baristas are normally all company. If you need to read a novel, try someplace else.

Coffee is good and lots of good seating. No WiFi is annoying and staff could use a bit of an attitude adjustment. What bothered me the most was that they AUTOMATICALLY add a 20% tip to the POS system. So if you’re not paying attention you will tip regardless of your experience. That is absolutely ridiculous. I greatly appreciate good service when I get it. I get a coffee at another local coffee shop almost daily and ALWAYS tip them. But they don’t just assume I’m going to. If your employees are that hard up for tips you aren’t paying them enough. I likely won’t be back because of this.

Cuvée Coffee Bar was one of the places we stopped by to sample the coffee scene in Austin. They were a good choice, as their coffee was very good. The ambience here is something I like in coffee shops. It is open and aesthetically pleasing. As mentioned, the coffee was good. I tried their nitrogenated coffee even though I am not a big fan of cold coffees. It was better than what I was expecting, and although it is not something I would order regularly(and only because I do not have a taste for cold coffee), I can easily someone who likes their coffee cold falling in love with it. I will definitely come back for their other offerings.

Great coffee, I’d put it as the best next only to Texas coffee traders which is still a great compliment. I would say a 3 due to lack of wifi and to be unfortunately the way when I asked the barista responded. As a non millennial lundite maybe wanting to make a statement, but it is a true courtesy to provide this to your customers and in my opinion. And at least if I ask politely if you do have it don’t be mean and condescending.

While I get the reasoning behind no wifi, as someone who works remotely it definitely effects my decision on where to get coffee. If they had Wifi, this would be the perfect spot to get some work done. That aside, what more can you ask for in a coffee shop? They have a great aesthetic, fantastic coffee and beer selections, bright-faced baristas, and Taco Deli! This is a great place to meet up with a friend or client, grab a pour over for two and enjoy each others company without being tethered to technology.

Unlike the failed HERO ordinance of Houston, Texas, this pro civilization place has unisex bathrooms that don’t make you feel like you are being excluded from the inclusivity that you want when in a Venn diagram. Also, when you approach the place from east downtown it’s a walking distance from several places including my friend’s where I was coming from at the time of this coffee experience. They have a beautiful patio that has a huge ramp that definitely complies with the ADA. Once you go inside you start to wonder why you didn’t sit on the patio but you are now inside and the barista is making coffee and different beverages and you’re like wow this is so cool. I mean the barista you can only hope is making coffee if you are at a coffee shop lol. Next we all placed our orders and we had two choices for the coffee beans a. From El Salvador, or b) Ethiopia. I had mine with steamed milk and chose the Ethiopian. They give you different options for milk. I had whole milk. My coffee was delicious. Unlike the hit or miss consistency of Starbucks, this place delivered everything you imagined them to and then some. We decided to sit indoors and the inside is just as fascinating as the outside. We were sitting away from the barista but we could see that he was very engaging with the patrons at the counter. If I lived in Austin, this would be my place to go every single day.

Delicious coffee? Check. Nice beer selection? Yup Friendly service? Yes indeed. What else do you need in a place to grab a morning perk or afternoon pint? No complaints. Hope to make it out to a pint night there soon.

Cuvee is our go to spot for coffee in East Austin. Add in the fact that the bar has a stellar beer/wine section and a great vibe to boot, and you really can’t go wrong any time of the day at Cuvee. The staff is great and the drinks are delicious… what more do you need?

Need to unplug? Consider stopping by Cuvee. I understand that the world needs electronics to get stuff done, but sometimes you just want to get away and read, write, or think without having to reach for your wifi-enabled devices.(If you have a data plan, then… no one’s stopping you from that, I suppose) Their nitro coffee(Black & Blue) is pretty special — it’s brewed similarly to Guinness(minus the alcohol), so you get the smoothest, creamiest cup of coffee poured into a beer goblet/chalice. It’s a great introduction to potentially taking your coffee black, although Cuvee offers both milk and simple syrups(brilliant, since table sugar is difficult to dissolve in cold drinks) to temper it. Also, I have to say that their brand imagery is some of the best I’ve seen for a local coffee shop — a bright blue motif throughout all of their décor and marketing materials make Cuvee stand out among the local coffee shops. Tasty coffee, great ambiance, pretty colors — my friend took me here because it’s his favorite coffee shop, and now I’ve become quite partial to Cuvee.

The home of black and blue coffee! If you want«real deal» coffee this is the place to be. I love the fun energetic atmosphere and my coffee snob bf loves their pour over. It’s clear they take care into each cup of coffee they pour. The only downside is that it’s tough to do work here because there is no wifi

Cuvee makes the best flat white and other espresso based drinks in Austin. The beans roasted ioff-site are high quality, and the baristas know what they are doing. This is my favorite spot to pick up a coffee on a lazy weekend morning. Unfortunately no free WiFi, I assume to discourage people like me who want to sit and work on cafes for hours. On a nice day the small patio out front is a great spot to sit and read the newspaper in the sun. Taco deli tacos sold in the morning.

The vibe was relaxing. The fact that the space opens up to the outdoors is also great on a fair-weathered day. The coffee was also good here — but I wouldn’t say that it stands out considering that there’s many other coffee shops in town. What makes this place stands out is pretty evident if you do bother going through other Unilocalers’ reviews — it’s the cold-brew, nitrogenated coffee, which I haven’t yet tried. And yes, they have this even on tap. I thought it to be interesting that it had its humble beginnings in Dallas, and then moved shop to Austin. Their product can be found all over Texas in several retail outlets, so good for them. I’m not much of a fan for the cold-brew but if you or someone you know is a fan of cold-brew, then by all means, do come here. They also serve TacoDeli food, so that’s a plus for those who loves the tacos from that local establishment.

I’ve only lived in Austin about 13 days and I’ve probably been to this place about six times already. Everyone who works there is always nice, and they serve Tacodeli tacos which are freaking delicious. I’ve had a couple different types of coffee drinks. Iced coffee, cold brew, americano, etc. Their coffee has a very clear acidity that I honestly just don’t really like. I can tell the coffee is great but I think its a matter of personal taste. I’ll definitely keep coming back though, because it’s close to where I work and again, everyone is just always so nice.

The vibe is a little different from the usual shop in this town. Clean, modern, but not overly. The setup is streamlined. The people who work here are genuinely cool and nice. Friendly is also a choice I’d select. The coffee is all Cuvee, and they have a variety of drip available each day. Options of milk or substitute available. I love the mocha, but can vary slightly depending on the day. Sit out or in, and dogs enjoy hanging out in front. If hungry, they have tacos from TacoDeli and some pastries, that look delicious. Taco’s run out, so be forewarned.

I love cuvee coffee roasters and you can find their coffee at many cafes around town. I am especially in love with their ntiro Black & Blue coffee, which just doesn’t taste as good from a can, and is harder to find on tap. I recently discovered that Black & Blue on tap is unpredictable, which can be the result of many reasons someone was explaining. However, the place were it is always creamy, frothy, and nutty delicious is at Cuvee Coffee Bar. Yes, it is a definite trendy hipster hangout spot. The interior a marriage or clash of metal meets wood. The bar is located front and center with seating all around. The front side of the bar is for daytime caffeine addicts, and the backside boozy taps by night. They have a small pastry selection to chew on. I love that they partner with Blackbird Bakery for gluten free pastries. For coffee lovers they have espressos, pour overs, cold brew, and nitro. On the other side, they have draft beers and wine on tap. It seems like everyone is up in arms about their lack of Wi-Fi. But, most people nowadays seem to have hot spots on their cell phones. Austin is full of laptop friendly options, so not sure what all the fuss is about. If I am out with friends, I am not concerned about my WI-FI availability.

I really hate the fact that reviews from people who think every coffee shop should be their own personal workspace are bringing down the overall rating of Cuvée. They don’t have wifi. Deal with it. Who ever said that free wifi at coffee shops should be «mandatory» anyway? Cuvée wants to foster an environment for an enjoyable social experience without having everyone stare at their screens. IMHO, they have some of the best coffee beans in the country!!! Don’t let the haters and unrealistic reviews keep you away

I had just had brunch at Hi Hat and was in the mood for some espresso. This being just a block down the street seemed like a good place to walk to to get one on a beautiful day. The woman taking my order and making the espresso was very nice. The woman who checked me out was not as nice, but nice nonetheless. The espresso itself was good, not exceptional, but good and it got the job done. I’m all about espresso, but they have a number of other coffee options and all looked pretty great. Parking in the area is easy. Service was quick. The inside area is super clean and chill. I sat outside and took in the great weather. A good place to stop by for a decent coffee when in the area.
