I was Dr. Dawes’ patient for probably 25 years and thought he’d retired but discovered that he is still in practice at a new location. He’s wonderful — sweet — gentle — not in it for the money. If you were a patient and didn’t know this or if you’re looking for the best dentist ever, call 454‑9549

I knew that Dr. Dawes would be the gentle dentist that I hoped for because many of his clients are elderly and come in regularly to have their dentures adjusted and repaired. I needed some major fillings done as I hadn’t been to the dentist in a couple of years but I did not get «the lecture» from the doctor or any of his assistants. Again I attribute this to having an elderly clientele which means they see a lot of major dental wear and tear on the teeth of people who have been using them for 50 years.
Because I had (I think it was 3) cavities to fill at one time I got a shot of novocain for each one. Unfortunately for me I’ve never had that much at once and I got extremely dizzy, almost threw up and had to lie down for several minutes. I recovered and finished getting my fillings and went on home.
Later that afternoon the doctor called me to find out how I was feeling and leave his home number incase anything happened during the night and I needed to reach him. That was truly A+ service and I’ve never gotten that kind of care from any medical professional in my life.
I would highly recommend Dr. Dawes for anyone that needs a gentle dentist. He appears to be someone who has the experience in his field to understand that not everyone is able to get to the dentist regularly and that when one is able to finally come in, they don’t need to be forced to feel shame about their personal hygiene by the dreaded lecture.
