I was referred to Deirdre by our dermatologist, who is one of the best in the country — very high praise right out of the box! I was having digestive, weight, allergy and other issues, and the prevailing solutions seemed at odds with each other. I signed up for a consultation with Deirdre, and we met at Whole Foods where we had a long conversation about history, diet, habits, etc. I immediately felt comfortable with her! We talked a lot about solutions to my issues, and she recommended a diet that was«mostly plant»…no extremist vegan doctrine, but a fundamental shift of focus. No foods were made«bad» but to have those in much smaller quantities — since then I mostly stopped eating red meat, but still have poultry and seafood. The fun part of all of this was at the end where she took me around the store, showing me examples of what we had discussed. It took me a while to get into the swing of things, but it finally sunk in and made sense. The net result? I’ve lost over 50 pounds! Funny thing is that I’m only hungry when I am truly hungry, I’ve stopped snoring(my wife is happy about that), and I am much healthier — less sluggish. My wife, for her part, also got into the same swing of things, so we both follow a similar diet. Plus most of the issues that I initially discussed with Deirdre have settled down. I am very grateful to Deirdre for her direction and encouragement, and she is definitely one of the bright points of Austin! I also highly recommend getting her book — it tells her personal story about how she controlled her eczema through diet, which I can completely understand. Hurray for Deirdre Earls!
