Awesome –we love our pots and they delivered them and drilled holes in the bottom for us on the ones that needed them — totally makes our swimming area!

I’m glad to see this place is on the Unilocal radar. It looks small from the front but the yard and inventory go way back. This place has one of the best ceramic pot selections in Austin. It has some interesting wrought iron pot and table bases. It also has some Talavera yard art. Definitely a worthwhile stop.

The day we signed the paperwork on our new home, before we even got the final approval call, we visited Desert Dreams and bought a beautiful water feature for the home’s Tuscan-style courtyard. hahaha Good thing it worked out! :) DDs has premade fountains; however, we couldn’t find one we really loved so they allowed us to pick out the shape, size, and color of the pottery to be used and built our custom water feature right away. Great customer service! And the price for pottery is fair — less than a few other locations we had looked at(e.g., Miguel’s Imports; different review for that despicable man). The fountain was still expensive(~$ 500), but it is great quality and adds such a wonderful ambiance and beauty to our courtyard. DDs also carries a variety of imported furnishings, a very large selection of talavera, Mexican-inspired kitchenware, etc. We have been back several times since our initial shop to purchase various items over the past 8 months. Lots to look at! The people at Desert Dreams are really nice and helpful. If you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for at their store they will see if they can order it for you or won’t even hesitate to recommend one of their competitors if need be. Highly recommend. Note: They gave us a small discount for purchasing multiple items at the same time.

Make sure when you buy something from them that you want to keep it and don’t want to return it. The old lady(owner) was very rude and they didn’t care about customer service. One of their guys cracked a pot we purchased when he placed it in the truck. We didn’t notice until we got home to unload it and when we tried to return it they claimed we did it and said they would only give us half the money back. Also, you can buy alot of their items for less money at other places around town. Home Depot even sells some of the same pots for a fraction of the costs. I prefer to buy local but not when the customer is seen as someone to rip off. They do have a nice collection of items, just look around before you purchase from here.

Thank the maker for a photographic memory! In my quest to find a Mexican tilted planting pot for the flowerbed, I seemed to recall a shop on 2222 near 620 that had a bunch of pottery and ceramics on the storefront. Sure enough, I can understand why Desert Dreams left such an impression on me even though I had passed it countless times without having the need to stop. When I pulled up to the storefront, a young man who was busy wrapping up a garden hose stopped to ask me if I needed any help. After coming up empty handed with trips to Garden Ridge, the flea market on 290 East, and Home Depot, I was prepared for the same result here. To be quite honest, from the street you might assume that Desert Dreams is a pretty small shop with a handful of eclectic choices. Quite the optical illusion! The salesperson did not hesitate in telling me that they had the exact pot I was searching for in various sizes, colors, and finishes. He led me around the side of the building where they have a tremendous back lot, filled with pots of various sizes and shapes, stacked 3 — 4 high. Not only was it sufficient to show me the great selection they had available, but apparently Desert Dreams also has another store nearby with even more stock. My disappointment was overcome with the difficulty of having to decide from so many different styles and sizes. All the pots are clearly priced, but my helpful salesperson went so far as to take an additional 20% off the price, sealing the deal on a fantastic shopping experience. He helped me load my new acquisition into the truck and was incredibly pleasant. Finding out that the business is family owned comes as no surprise and it’s obvious that they take a great deal of pride in offering a wide selection at prices that are superior to those of Home Depot or Lowe’s. Bravo, Desert Dreams!

I do not recommend this place at all. If you are planning on purchasing a bunch of things, they are definitely a rip-off…on my purchase of $ 500 dollars we could not exchange as easily as they made it sound during the purchase, the owner(female) exchanged some cheap vases for the huge vases that I had purchased from their other location,(did not fit my décor)…she didn’t even look to see what I was bringing in to exchange, and said that they were the same price. Total rip-off and very rude lady.

This place is worth the drive! I came here looking for some christmas presents– specifically outdoor art. There was a huge selection and the people who helped me were extremely knowledgeable and kind. They also bartered with me on the prices, which is always appreciated! It’s so much better than a huge store like Home Depot because it’s locally owned and you feel good about shopping here. Check it out!

Whenever people ask me where to buy pots I always recommend this place. They have the best selection of pottery at the best prices I have found. DD is family owned and ran by a Hispanic family that travels throughout Mexico buying from local artisans. In addition to a huge selection of pottery they have water fountains, and hand crafted furniture wrought iron decorations and gift items inside such as fridge magnets. They recently opened another location on 620.

If you’re looking for rustic and southwest style furniture, pottery, and art, this is the place. I recently stopped in for the first time looking for a bedrrom set. Chico was happy to help me and sent me several emails over the next few days with photos of potential beds, dressers, etc. I found a set that we loved and Chico had it in my house in just a few days. Delivery was on time and everything came just as promised. We stopped by a few days later for some mexican glassware and decorative items and received the same helpful service. And the prices are well below what I expected for the quality I received. This is a family owned business(Chico is the son of the owners) and it shows. They provide friendly service even by Austin standards! I highly recommend a visit to Desert Dreams!
