My husband and I go to swim laps. There are plenty of lanes, and we’ve never had to wait. There is a city swim group that takes up some of the lanes on Monday and Wednesday nights so I’d avoid those times. The pool is free and it’s clean; I highly recommend this place!

It’s free, which is fantastic, and three pools so there is something for everyone. The baby pool was closed last time we went, but the medium pool has plenty of space, and big fun steps for little kids. Olympic size pool for lap swimmers. Only downfall is there are no trees and only a tiny bit of shade, if any at all.

When I lived way down south, I used to go to Dick Nichols for my workouts, but I hadn’t been in a while since my gym has a pool now. Last night, I embarked on my first formal swim class which was through Rogue Running and held at Dick Nichols. Man, a lot has changed since I used to swim there. They reconfigured the whole pool. I think there are 8 lanes now, complete with starter blocks and covers and a heated pool! The water was perfect when we got in at 7:30 last night for our first class… and it was a really chilly night! The pool is well lit and clean too. There are enough lanes that everyone in the class even got their own, which is really good since when we were doing side drills I spent the entire time cruising across the lane instead of down it.
