This place is a joke. Texas strip clubs are a joke anyway; but this place is the cherry on top of the cake. Down in Texas Saloon is nothing but a snow bunny galore. Lately all the strip clubs in Austin have eliminated all the ethnic girls; black and Latinas. I like my fellow melanated queens and not everyone wants to look at a pink toe trying to «dance». We all have different tastes, why not add some variety. Unfortunately, the only places in Austin to have ethnic girls are the ghetto ones and those are filled with ugly girls too. The only cool employee was the bartender. Also the manager Parker used to be cool and friendly when he managed Sugars and that place now sucks too. Sorry Austin, but Atlanta boobie bars ftw!

Went here tonight. Worst club I’ve ever been to. Dancers were bored, unfriendly, untrained and honestly mostly unattractive. Drinks were ridiculous. $ 6.50 for less than the equivalent of a shot. This is mostly just a place for the wanna be homies to hang out. Save your cover charge and go some place else.

I could go on and on about how poor this place is, but let’s just be brief. The staff is untrained and uneducated. Waitresses who do not know their job and bartenders who do not even simple drinks, e.g., Dewars on the rocks. Stay away.

Absolute worst place ever. Service sucks, apparently food doesn’t even get ordered because I get asked what I ordered. After manager asks what the problem is I have the bartender argue with me about what I ordered. C’mon man I’m not looking for 5 star service but if yiur gonna offer food get it out!

This place was great before it was acquired by Rick’s International. Since then, so many things have changed for the worse; starting by the extremely obnoxious and tacky upholstery. I really don’t know if they got the inspiration for the pattern from a cow-zebra crossover. In my humble opinion, Austin has by far the best strip clubs in Texas as such, I would highly discourage anybody to go to Down in Texas Saloon specially since Perfect 10 is just a few miles north. Their current only selling point is its outdoor patio as it’s the only strip club in town which has one. However, who really wants to spend an afternoon under the sun at a strip club? I am a hardcore strip club goer yet, I’d much rather spend a sunny afternoon at one of the hundreds of bars with patios in town. Management is definitely Down in Texas Saloon’s(current) worst«feature». They literally got rid of the better managers and floor hosts from the good ol’ days. We have a general manager who can’t take online criticism; Travis, a manager who would lie about almost anything to get you to come and fall down on his promises the moment you get there by pretending he meant something entirely different and basically making you leave; and, Jim, a manager who seems to be under the gross misapprehension that he acts with professionalism when he actually runs the place as if it were a high school. Nepotism is rampant in the industry with its need for regular patrons. Down in Texas Saloon is by far the worst offender; I’ve seen friends of many of these managers do the most outrageous acts within club grounds which would get anybody else kicked out yet, they don’t(as a disclaimer, I’ve gotten kicked out from this establishment for the most ridiculous reasons which, any other person would have not). I do wonder if the club’s shareholders would be very happy if they knew some people get no cover and cheaper bottles just because they happen to know someone in management.

No one single dancer and it is 1 pm. 2 stars only for friendly waitress and clean bathrooms.

I’ve never been so insulted in my life. You had a total of one person in the club other than myself and my girlfriend and you want to treat us like shit? The manager refused to shake my girl’s hand and the bartender called her a bitch to her face. Fuck this place. I can’t wait for you motherfuckers to go out of business.

I attempted to give this place a shot, yet it has not been successful in making me or my friends regulars. I tried to give it another go this past weekend. I asked for ruby red and soda. What I got from the bartender was ruby red and sprite. I was told that it was $ 2 you call its, and then went to the bar and found out it was $ 2 wells. So be careful if you think you’re going to get cheap drinks here. The times that I have been here on the weekend, the place looks busy from the parking lot, but once you walk inside, it’s half full at best. I’m giving it an extra star because of the laughs that a man gave me out on the patio. He approached me and said he was responsible for the hiring at DITS. He showed me a picture of a tall blonde that turned out to be him. I never got confirmation on if he actually worked there or if was just a tranny that was visiting the place.

Almost went by today, then I realized the problem, is ‘day’. The daytime DJ runs the system WAY too loud, still. Several complaints and comments to management, explaining why this is not a good thing, have fallen on predictably deaf ears. Before launching in to a tirade over the decibel levels at the club: I’ve been back twice since my initial review, at the request of associates who had celebrating relatives in from out of town, and really wanted to go there. It hasn’t gotten any better. That new bar in back? Directly under stacks of speakers, hammering down on you. Not pleasant. And, on more than one occasion, I’ve seen men in some form of a managerial role go to the bar, grab the soda gun, and refill a disposable bottle(Sprite, Ozarka, you get the idea). Prob is, they jam the gun nozzle directly in to the mouth of the bottle to fill it. The part of the bottle their mouth has just been on, smashed on to the device that serves you your drinks. If you get anything like, Jack & Coke, 7&7, something with a fruit juice. club soda, you’re probably getting managerial spittle served along with it. I’ve seen them hand their bottle to bartenders for refilling, and the same thing happens. Freakin’ gross, guys. Maybe you’re getting off on this, or don’t realize it, but gross. Now, back to the crux of the issue here: the problem with most strip clubs is the management has no formal training or educating in Hotel and Restaurant Management; they’re there because of someone they know, or in some cases have worked their way up for door guy or bouncer, maybe to DJ, to asst. manager, and so forth, bringing bad habits they’ve seen with them, and maybe having some brilliant new idea that invariably bombs. Somewhere, someone got the bright idea that having music stupid loud creates a «party atmosphere» and people then spend more money as a result. At a dance club, maybe, but not a strip club. Why does this fail the customer? — You have to shout across the bar to your bartender, if your bartender happens to be female you can almost be guaranteed not being able to hear any response. — The dancers have to pretty much yell in your ear«WOULDYOULIKE A DANCE?»(by the way, ladies, horrible opening line). As we know, when people speak louder, their voices rise in pitch. Women, naturally having higher-pitched voices than men, register even higher than normal. Combine that with the increased volume they’re speaking/shouting in, and it’s shrill. Shrill, in your ear. They sound like the harpy guys have at home who they’re trying to avoid and forget about while at a strip club. Also, depending on the dancer, but about 90% of the time, that projection done so close to a guy’s face leaves him overwhelmed with a noxious scent of cigarettes mixed with alcohol and weed, and bubble gum, trying to cover it all up. While there are people on the internet who no doubt get off on this, I don’t believe most do. Their system is not only loud, but has impressively wide dynamics. The bass hits ultra-low without distorting. Unfortunately, no one’s tuned their system to anything remotely close to a reasonable balance, so while the DJ has the volume cranked up the bass becomes overwhelming. The bar vibrates. A lot of money went in to this, and it’s being totally misused and wasted. On that note, the DJ… lest any have forgotten their place, at a strip club, the DJ is an MC. His job is to play music, and clearly introduce the dancers, so patrons can put a name to a body when they want to request her later. The strip club DJ is not the main attraction, sorry, and the one at DITS really needs to stop acting like it. Get off the mic. For a club that touts itself as being more real and more country, rock and roll, I hear as much awful hiphop as any club, but with the DJ saying things like«YEAH, THAT’S HOWWEDO, here at Down In Texas Saloon». WTF does that even *mean*? Stop talking, play music, and you’ll get an A. Talk too much, talk like you belong on the mic at Rick’s, and you fail. Also, to strip club DJs everywhere, stop messing with the mix on your mic, all that low end you dump on so you have some big, manly growl coming over the speakers? You sound muddy and unintelligible. Remember Mushmouth on Fat Albert? That’s you, on the mic. Not impressing anyone. Seriously, you’re neither Paul Oakenfold nor Van Dyke, stop trying to *be* them. Play music for the girls to dance to at a reasonable volume that people can talk. If they cannot talk, they cannot negotiate. Not every guy is going to get dances from a girl because she’s hot, there’s often a prelude of conversation that is part of the negotiating, and if you make that difficult, or in the case of DITS, impossible, they earn less. They earn less, they go to P10, and make a killing, because it’s not stupid-freakin’-loud there.

This place has more issues than a welfare office waiting room. I have been there three times and the last visit will be our last. It started at the door. The young lady behind the desk was nice, but another girl, I think her name was Alaine or Ellen was obviously drunk beyond the legal responsibility of the club. How do we know? Because she was falling all over the place. Then, as we sat ourselves at a table, by what I’m assuming was the waitress station near the d.j. booth, the girls were complaining about how cheap the customers were and if the new table(ours) was gonna be just as cheap! Really??? After being served decent drinks, we had two waitresses and two dancers sit with us and complain about management quality. Whoever Martha is, she must be a real piece of work. It seems she is not liked by staff because some of the other people who work there were talking about her outside while our group was smoking. I will say that the place was clean and the bar staff are great. We ordered food as well, which has declined in quality since our previous visits. This place needs a make over and more girls on the floor to be profitable. I was told by an employee that the saloon is owned by the same guy that owns pink monkey and babes. Now I understand why this place will meet its untimely demise. I have never met the man personally, but through business associates and the grapevine, he is far from a class act. Sorry, down in Texas saloon… but we will not be returning. There are better things to throw $$$$ away on besides an establishment with issues that should make you second guess the way you run your business and drive your employees to hate you…

I went there with a group of guys and girls a week after it had opened and I have to say… FAIL. The dancers were sparse and the atmosphere left much to be desired. Sorry DIT Saloon… you have some work to do. I’ll give you guys another shot in 6 months.

Every time i come here I am treated like royalty the managers are very attentive, and they look after the dancers and waitresses very well. They also have a very good group of DJ’s who make sure that everyone has a fun time and are always open to requests. The dancers themselves are very open to sitting and talking with customers to get to know them which in my opinion is a huge plus. The waitresses are dressed in very nice outfits and are very discreet when they come to a table where a customer is talking with a dancer which shows a lot of respect. I will always come here because of these reasons.

Well… We live in round rock and saw this new«club» being built. Last night we thought we would go try it out! Little did we know it is a Gentlemen’s club! We were so shocked to walk in expecting a country bar… And we see ladies on their stage! If you’re going here thinking the same thing we did… Go on down the road. If you’re looking for a Gentlemen’s club this one was nice on the inside! Good music, we even stayed for a drink!

I would have to say this club is right now the best gentlemen club for its atmosphere and girls. They management take great care of the customers and the experience you will take away will without a doubt bring you back for more. This club has got me hooked!
