WOW did Eddie V’s make my entire trip with their incredible food and service! From hosts, to greeters, wait staff, and servers — All parties made the experience a joy for my team! I took a break from Ann Arbor real estate marketing and thanks to Eddie V’s I was able to take the night off and enjoy the moment. I ordered the Chilean sea bass and it was delightful! Seasoned perfectly and cooked with care. Top notch restaurant — I will be back next vacation!

Some of the best cooked sea food in Austin, I prefer this location over the down town location because of the views.

The professional staff is what sets Eddie V’s apart. You will be treated as an honored guest from the minute you hand your keys to the valet parking attendant and are welcomed at the door to the moment when you’ve finished an excellent meal and grab your keys to leave. These folks are pros who are thoroughly familiar with the menu and all things gastronomy. Add to this the delicious food, wine, excellent bar, outstanding atmosphere and you’ve got a great place to go for any occasion. Highly recommended.

Eddie V’s positions — and prices — itself as an elite place to dine. Although many of the right elements exist, our recent dining experience certainly didn’t justify its high opinion of itself. Food quality was a mixed bag. My wife’s lobster bisque was sublime, and the crab and corn chowder was thick, tasty, and very rich. My wife had a crab cake for an entrée, and while it was certainly large enough, I found both texture and taste to be lacking. My «Market Fresh Fish» — a broiled halibut filet — was singularly unremarkable, with an excess of salt overpowering the delicate flavor of the fish. Many reviewers rave about the service at Eddie V’s, and perhaps we just drew a server who did not appeal to us. His manner of speaking was completely artificial and affected, and he repeatedly addressed my wife as, «My Dear,» a title I consider to be overly familiar. He didn’t understand my wife’s drink order, forcing us to flag him down and order it a second time, this time with more specific instructions. The price of my entrée was not on the menu, and when I asked about the cost, he told me that it was«about $ 23.» When the bill arrived, I was charged $ 34, nearly 50% above his estimate. In all fairness, I did not dispute this charge because the dinner was a special occasion that I didn’t want to spoil by bickering over price. I am confident that if I had called this discrepancy to our server’s attention, he would have adjusted the bill. However, one would hope that a well trained server at an elite restaurant would take the time to verify the price if he were uncertain about it. Speaking of prices, be prepared to spend upwards of $ 100 per person. The wine is priced at quadruple retail(!) meaning that we spent $ 88 on two very ordinary bottles of $ 11 wine. Entrees are in the $ 30 — $ 40 range, and there was a subtle but constant pressure for us to spend more. Our server was constantly trying to upsell us on most of our choices and did what he could to expedite the disappearance of our beverages in apparent hopes that we would order more. Overall, Eddie V’s is not a bad place to eat, but neither is it the top dining destination it considers itself to be. You can certainly do much better for the price.
