I wrote a bad review for this wonderful agency a day ago, and deeply regret it, they did an amazing job following up with us, caring for our dog in all hours of the day and night, resolving all health issues associated with her surgery, and being sincerely loving and caring. These people are amazing, and not to mention it was free when it should’ve costed us thousands of dollars, my family will be donating extra income annually from here on out to this amazing institution, thank you emancipet!!! And again, my apologize

I just have to say that the services this place provides is beyond amazing. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. I dropped off and it was bit busy but what can you expect. They treat everyone and every animal like they matter and I am happy to have gone here to get my dog spayed and microchipped.

The only place I will take my future pets to get fixed!
I actually brought my dogs in a week early thinking I had scheduled their appointments that day. I drove about 40 minutes in the pouring rain to get there so I was pretty bummed out with myself that I had done that, but the ladies at the front desk arranged for Emancipet to take BOTH my dogs in that day so I did not have to return the next week. WOW. I can’t tell you how helpful it was that they did that, and that gesture went so far above and beyond my expectations. The woman I talked to directly prior to the procedure was also very nice and even though I was stressed about bringing him in she made me feel very comfortable leaving my dogs in their care.
The procedure was done well, efficiently and at an incredibly low price too! One of my dogs had a condition that left one of his testicles up in his kidneys, and all the other vets I had talked to about getting him neutered had quoted me $ 500 or more. Emancipet only charged me $ 121 for the procedure, his rabies vaccine, his pain killers, his micro chip and clipping his nails! Talk about an incredible deal. The cherry on top was that on the back of his new rabies tag the engraved his name and my cell phone number.
I could not be happier with this place. Please don’t waste your time spending a ridiculous amount of money at a local vet to spay/​neuter your dog, the folks here at Emancipet are THE BEST. Also they are a Non-​Profit so please donate to help keep this great establishment up and running!

This is my new go-​to for all my fur-child’s needs. You can expect a good hour wait or so, but it is absolutely worth it. Place is super affordable and has an excellent, caring staff.

I have been going to Emancipet for 9 yrs. I have 4 dogs and they have always been well cared for. Yesterday 11−4^th– 14 I brought 2 of my dogs in for Rabies and Pravo. Typical office visit. The female doctor that attended my dogs was to afraid to even touch them. Look at their ears teeth etc. she injected my poor dogs so quick that they let out a Unilocal.My poor Mali poo vomitted blood and our way home. Today she is limping and can’t walk. I gave her the heartworm med and she threw it up. She can’t seem to eat orwalk. I don’t think I should have been charged for 2 office visits for both my Mali poo and wiener dog if a doctor is too afraid to exam them. I will not return to that location. Too bad it’s been 9 years of great service until she came.

The vets and techs are all wonderful as are the fees. Have had great experiences there in the past — with 5 rescue dogs, I need all the help I can get for vaccinations and preventative medication.
Reason for 3 stars is that the front desk clerk is not completely clear or helpful about a few things when there is a wait so here is my advice:
1) do not leave the property when there is a wait unless you can’t stay that long. She’ll tell you they’ll text you 15 minutes before they’re ready for you…
2) if you are within the 15 minutes from the time you received the text, go tell her you got the text and don’t leave until you confirm with her… you could get lost in the mix
3) if you can/​do not arrive within the 15 minutes after you receive the text, you go to the bottom of the line (again…) but you still have to tell her you’re back
I didn’t understand this and arrived 30 minutes after the text (after driving back and forth twice) so don’t make the same mistake.

Very busy so you might have to wait an hour but they’re kind to everyone and have the best prices. Not just me but my big wild RIdgeback pup likes this place best plus they have the most affordable prices that I know of.
Not to mention they have a respectable role in the community helping with our pet population problem by offering such affordable services.

Came here on a Friday to get my cat’s yearly shots plus some Revolution. I showed up around 9:30am and went to check in. They don’t allow people to sign up for the vaccinations until 9:55am, but they keep track of who has arrived and when it’s time, they ask you sign up in the order you arrived. I arrived first but an excited woman jumped up to sign in and they told her to leave the first line blank for me, which I thought was cool. I was called right at 10:00am and was all done by 10:15. The total was $ 65.00 for two shots and 3 months of Revolution — just amazing. Fabulous organization and friendly staff. I will always go here for preventative care!

Wish i found this place before spending way too much $$$ in other vet clinics just for vaccinations and microchips. etc. My dog just got spayed from here and the care and service was great. I also got her nails trimmed and flea medicine. They gave us painkillers for the dog to take home and a 24 hour helpline if we have any questions or concerns from the surgery. Highly recommend if you are as nervous as I was about your pet having surgery, they really take good care of the animals.

We brought our precious Doggie (Bam Bam) to the Emancipet Mobile station to get neutered. We were very nervous about the procedure, so arriving before 6am (Mobile Van arrives around 8am) were 3^rd in line. Usually it gets packed but they said this was not a typical turnout, which worked for us!
They took our Bam for neutering, microchip, and heartworm meds… they even clipped his long nails for free! We picked him up a little early (around 4pm even though they said pick up is at 5pm). We just could not wait to see our Bam and we were really worried. The Emancipet staff were all very helpful, caring, and understanding. They checked on him for us and brought him out. He was groggy but they said he did a great job and was an excellent patient. We were very happy with the service and Bam Bam seems to be recovering just fine.
We also needed an ID tag for him, so they recommended we visit the Austin Branch on Lavender Loop, so we took a short drive over there and the facility was large and seemed new, and the staff was also welcoming and helpful. A lady behind the counter greeted me and made Bam an ID tag for free! We have had such a wonderful experience with Emancipet and recommend them to anyone for their pet needs. Just Paw-​sitively Ter-​woof-​fic!

I have taken our 20 month old boxer/​terrier mix to Emancipet twice and have had a great experience both times! The staff is so friendly, welcoming and helpful. They truly care about your pet and while being efficient, they also will take a few minutes to chat with you about any concerns and offer comforting advice.
The only reason why it isn’t a 5-​star review is that I wish they took appointments. The wait times have been 1 – 2 hours (even getting there before they open). I also wish they fenced in the yard area a bit so you could let your dog off the leash while waiting (it gets hard to entertain them that whole time — lots of stimulation with other pets and people in and out).

Took my kitten here for all of her shots and eventually spaying, and the employees at Emancipet are so friendly and caring. It is obvious that they really love animals and try their best to get every pet taken care of. The wait can be rather long, but that’s expected at a place like this where there are so many walk ins (and just allowing that to begin with is another reason why this place is so wonderful). Thank you Emancipet for being an excellent veterinary service!

Ok so the first time I came here to get my cats vaccinated I had a wonderful experience. The staff was so nice and I got right in, and I know its supposed to be the most affordable place to go.
But recently I went with my cats over the summer, and they said it was going to be a 2 hour wait. They don’t take appointments. I understand they can’t control the demand, but I don’t have time to sit and wait 2 hours for an appointment. And I don’t want to put my cats through 2 hours of dogs barking at them and sniffing them.
So due to this, they have lost me as a client, but they obviously seem to be doing fine without me!

Maybe I was way in over my head taking in this rescue Husky. With the help of Emancipet, it made things so much simpler for me. On sunday I brought this rogue Husky home who was homeless for a long time, as soon as he walked in the house, he started marking on my rug. Immediately, I decided, off with his balls! Seriously though, that wasnt the reason why, but I am a firm believer in neutering and spading so I wanted to get it done as soon as possible. I looked up Emancipet because so many people recommended it to me. Now I can see why.
I got to the east location at around 8am. With an unruly 50 lb husky pulling me, I was trying to figure out how to fill out the paperwork while handling him when a vet tech, like an angel out of the sky, came and got him for me while I filled out the forms. I got him checked in and was told by the vet tech that he would be ready by 12:30pm. They went through a detailed list of things of what I wanted to get done for him, including free microchipping, yay!
I got a call around 11am saying the neutering went well and he will be ready to pick as soon as 12:15pm. When i arrived, they went through all the post surgery information with me. This process was so smooth and a great service to our community!

I’m so happy someone told me about this place.
Emancipet is the bomb diggity if you have a puppy. Super low rates for spaying/​neutering, plus cheap meds for heart worm prevention, flea/​tick, etc.
Like why go to an expensive vet? The people here are so nice, professional, very accommodating, and it’s right next to the animal shelter so you can go check in and visit all the animals.
Also, kudos to all the great sign placement when you pull in. I get lost easily and it was great not having to wonder how to get here.
I don’t know if every city has a place like this, but having it in Austin is amazing.

I’m so impressed… seriously. For $ 127 my dog was spayed, microchipped, got her rabies vaccination, nails trimmed, e-​collar and a month’s supply of heartworm medicine. That is unheard of at a «normal» vet office!
We are so blessed to have this service in Austin. I actually took Zia (my baby) to the mobile truck that was in San Marcos yesterday. So professional and running a tight ship out of that truck. The little bag they sent home with her meds in it had a picture someone had drawn on it that looked like her and her name… it’s the little things.
Zia is already acting like herself less than 24 hours after surgery and the incisions these days are itty bitty! We were all wondering what it looked like but didn’t want to roll her over she was so groggy. Eventually she rolled over on her own and it’s about an inch long and looks great.
I cannot recommend this place enough. If you have a big heart and lots of animals but struggle to pay the exorbitant fees for their vaccinations and meds please check Emancipet out!

Meatball tested, Mom approved! Here’s why:
On Monday, I got online and scheduled an 8:00 a.m. appointment to get my little monster neutered for Thursday of the same week. Love when things are efficient and easy!
Speaking of, the road leading back to the facility is windy and goes alongside several other buildings (like the city animal shelter) where you might think «Hmm, is this it?» But! Emancipet has taken the guess work out by posting big signs with arrows pointing the way at every curve. Again, I love when things are easy. Good work, y’all.
When I walked in at 8:02 to find the lobby mostly already full with other critters, I expected the worst in terms of wait time. But! Much to my delight and surprise, I had my (very informative) consultation about 10 minutes after checking in and was out the door by 8:20. Pick-​up was at 2:30 which didn’t take more than 15 minutes.
I didn’t know this when I went in, but in addition to spays/​neuters/​vaccines, they also do free microchips for residents of Travis County, nail trims for $ 8 (I think $ 10 for dogs,) and, the best part, Soft Paw Application for $ 15!!! (If you don’t know what this is and have a precocious cat with claws, see below to have your life changed.*)
The people who work there are extremely friendly and have a very efficient-​yet-​caring system. I’d expected a dump since it’s a low cost facility, but it’s actually quite charming. Tip: there’s wi-​fi in case you do wind up with a wait and need to get some work done.
Thank you, Emancipet, for making it easy for this poor grad school kid to take care of her beloved fur baby. ($ 40 for rabies shot and neuter!) If I ever graduate and get a job, this is a place to which I will definitely pay it forward!
*So Soft Paws. If you don’t have the heart to declaw but still don’t want your kitty shredding up rolls of toilet paper and/​or climbing up curtains, upholstered headboards, pant legs, etc., (cough cough Meatball,) check these out. They’re little caps (~$ 5 a set) that are glued over pets nails. They stay on for 4 – 6 weeks and virtually eliminate the scratching, but I’ve only done it twice because they’re suuuuuch a pain in the arse to put on. Like, even worse than trimming nails. Just last weekend I told my boyfriend, «Gee I wish I could pay somebody to put Meatball’s nail caps on.» Ta-​da! It is so worth my $ 10 to let somebody else more skilled than I deal with it. Meatball will back for many kitty manicures in the future.

Dog #1: Pssst… Hey, where’s the free clinic in this town? I need some… ya know…
Dog #2: Dude, Emancipet. If ya can’t pay, they’ll help ya out man.

So, yes, as the conversation we just overheard explains… Emancipet offers No Cost and Low Cost spay and neutering services. Not only that, they offer low cost vaccines and heartworm tests and prevention. $ 4 a month for heartworm pills is super cheap. Not only that, the facilities are nice and clean and the staff are amazingly friendly and seem to truly like their jobs. They are animal people for sure. I’m super impressed.

To my knowledge, this is the best deal in Austin. I would absolutely recommend Emancipet to any new pet owner for basic services, annual shots, and puppy distemper shots.
After being taken advantage of by paying over $ 20-​something for a rabies vaccine at a recommended vet, I was surprised that a rabies shot here is only $ 11. To make up for the difference, I would advocate Emancipet for any pet needs for anyone in town because the markup at other locations for the SAME shot is ridiculous!
The staff love and adore pets and they know how to treat them lovingly in what can be a fluorescent, terrifying experience for some animals. The first time I brought my puppy here, he had to be dragged up the stairs, but by the time he was done with his distemper shots, he would go inside with no problem and even loved socializing with other dogs in the waiting area (that little extrovert). I still return for flea and heartworm while he is still growing to his full size.
The typical wait is usually at least an hour if you bring your pet in, but immediate if you’re picking up heartworm or flea meds. You can call ahead to get an idea of the wait, and there are carabiners on the wall to attach your dog’s leash to, as well as the huge scale in the waiting room for all guests to witness your dog resisting to stand on it. Happens every time.
They also organize clinics time to time at various locations several times a year where certain shots or spay/​neuter will be free. The only thing is that I wish that I could return for full-​service vet visits if needed, but they don’t provide that. Maybe in the future?
A tip for getting there when you get in the complex is not to turn left, but actually go right and around the shelter for get there faster.

This place can’t be beat in terms of value. I have taken my dog to get neutered and have easily paid about $ 200, but here it is a measly $ 60!!! Now the only draw back to having such low cost place is that there is a wait, and boy is there one. I took my fur baby here to get his annual shots and his flea and heart worm meds and ended up waiting for about two hours, but I also think it had to do with it being a Friday. From what I heard the wait can be much worse on Saturdays, so beware!
The vets and technicians were super friendly and sweet to my little pup. They were as careful as they could possibly be when drawing his blood to check for those pesky heart worms. Thankfully he tested negative for those things! I walked out with flea and heart worm meds for a discounted price which I could not complain about as well as discounted price for vaccines. So despite the fact that you have to wait a fair bit, it definetely is worth the trip. One thing that should be known is that their vets only perform preventative procedures. So if your dog has car sickness like mine, they will direct you to other vets in the area.
Overall it was a great experience besides the long wait time. So if you don’t mind that, I recommend it!
