The latest decorative add-on to my new hair salon is a flower arrangement made by Fancy Plants. I just love this place… walking through the store is an experience like none other. Lynne made the most beautiful arrangement for an enclave i have in between a stylist area and our shampoo area. It is the most amazing flower arrangement i have ever seen. The quality of the flowers is so good people try touching it all the time top see if it’s real. I absolutely love it!

You betcha they’re fancy. And they’ve got a fancy price tag to go with them! Fancy Plants, according to my mother and aunt, is the ultimate establishment for procuring the most realistic artificial plants and flowers(if you simply MUST go artificial, that is). I thought I’d check it out since I needed a new plant to fill up a corner next to the flatscreen. I was greeted upon walk in by a woman who seemed busy hauling out new Christmas stock but seemed more than happy to help. At first I just wanted to browse though. Fancy Plants offers a wide assortment of beautiful arrangements, larger trees, and delicate accents. In addition, you can find some pretty nice looking vases and pots(especially if you’re looking for a «Tuscan style» one). And yes, these aren’t the typical artificials you’d find at Michael’s; these do indeed look as realistic as can be. They had a wide range of individual flowers you could purchase for an arrangement, and they offered custom work as well. Also, their Christmas décor was simply gorgeous, especially a mantelpiece I couldn’t take my eyes off of. Finally I asked the woman to help me find a plant that was around 6′. We mulled over some options, and I have to give her credit – she found the perfect one for me. It was a three-tiered tree, placed in a dark brown Tuscan style pot. Examining it, she informed me that the wood of the branches was real, and it even had lichen on the branch to add to the authenticity. I’d love to have taken it but… The prices will get you. The plant I wanted was $ 450, and the pot was extra at $ 170. I shouldn’t have been surprised… the cheapest item in the store was a small flower in a vase that was priced at $ 50. It would only look good in a group of three, so for small display, it’s already up to $ 150. Pre-made arrangements were $ 200 – 500 or more. That Christmas mantle piece I adored? Almost $ 300. Even their peripheral merchandise like candles were $ 28-$ 35 for nothing special. For me, and I suspect for the average person, this just seems like a financial commitment to fake greenery that not a lot of people are willing to make. i imagine the ideal customer for this place to be a Westlake housewife; older, with a large amount of disposable income and no real outlet to spend it in except for stuff like this. If you have the money, by all means spend away! If you’re jonesing to sink a thousand dollars or more in some random artificial plants, search no further! This is the place; it’s classy, it’s quality, and they provide individual service. Fancy plants for fancy cash!
