We meant to stop before getting to the Austin airport as the food choices are extremely poor. Ordered a hot panini — misfire. Grill marks are pre-made, just look at the bags of pre toast stacked on side of service area. Wasn’t even warm. Salads were over dressed. Watched person after person go to the self serve area were you could grab pre made sandwich or salad and they would take to full service counter. Good idea, people just are not embracing it. I will say it is the healthiest choice at the airport.

Certainly at the top of food choices when you’re stuck in an airport! They had lots of fresh and healthy salad options, such as their Texas caviar. Garbanzos with some chopped veggies and a little spice. I had their four-salad mixer, and everything was tasty. They have a number of sandwich options that all looked great. Service was quick and friendly.

I’m so disappointed! Not one thing in the fridge contained anything local or organic despite the beautiful signage. So the deli meat sandwiches are definitely out. Tomato Brie basil sandwich, $ 11… :(thundercloud nada chicken sammie on the other side of the terminal it is.

Best option at airport, but I think their marketing is better than reality. They say Organic when we can and Local when we can but it seems they don’t put much effort in trying to make that true! Not even their whole(Dole brand) bananas are organic– and that’s about as easy a fruit to find in an organic variety as there is. That said, their food is tasty and they have healthy options so that’s something.

Self checkout. One of the greatest advances of the 21st century, and executed beautifully by Farm Aire at ABIA(AUS). Ok, I may be lacking in history expertise, but I do have an eagle eye for convenience and I love doing things all by myself. This little kiosk allows travelers to quickly pick up delicious real foods prepared by Annie’s next door, swipe their card, and be on their way to board a plane near Gate 21 in less than 60 seconds. Mama like. FYI, it’s the same menu of fresh sammies, wraps, & salads as Annie’s, but cold & pre-packaged to fly. If you prefer your sandwiches to be grilled or you want something on a plate, you’ll need to get in line and order from the counter across the way. Checkout station is near the window.
