Fast Forward Skate Shop

I’ve been thinking about buying a complete deck lately, and was a little nervous to buy one in person because i’m older and don’t fit the skateboarder profile. So I came very close to buying online. However, I took the chance and checked out Fast Forward.
The two employees were nice, I told them how I wanted it and they picked out all the components for me. It was a bit more expensive than online but it’s a local shop and that’s just how that works. After I payed they offered to build it for me. I accepted because they could do it easily twice as fast as I could.
While they were setting up my board, a young daughter and her mom (assumption) walked in. I think the daughter was more nervous than I was about buying a skateboard and almost walked out, but the employee setting up mine started talking to her and telling her about the different widths ect. This conversation caused him to stop setting up my board. They talked about what she knows so far, if she has ridden and where and who she knew and he ended up knowing some of the same people and was overall very positive.
That girl ended up buying a complete setup too. I think a lot of people in my position would often be annoyed that a new sale stopped the setup their purchase, but honestly if he didn’t stop, that girl who walked in nervous probably would have walked out nervous with nothing. Instead she ended up getting one and now seemed super confident.
So yeah, this place is pretty legit.

Best selection of boards, components, apparel and skate accessories in the city. Plus the employees are all really cool and helpful. I like this shop, it’s Rad!

Great store with excellent merch. I remember going to one in the mall when I was younger. It feels good to have one around that still lives! The staff was amazing and helped show me around. A+++

These guys are so great! I used to get my hair cut at the salon above them, so wandered in one day, lured by the Toms sign. It’s definitely a skate shop, but I’m really impressed with their selection of women’s clothing, accessories and shoes. It’s as if someone hand-​picks all the latest unique boho-​chic items and then displays them surreptitiously in this unassuming skate shop.
I’ve discovered my favorite O’Neill sweater here, more than one pair of Toms, a great Roxy tote, and I always pick up a pair of Stance socks — they’re so fun! Every time I go in I am greeted warmly, but never followed around or made to feel like I’m bothering them. The guys always check up on me as I hem-​haw around trying to decide what to buy. I love that they are so patient and chill. They almost always make small talk with me, without making me feel like I don’t belong or should buy something and get out. If you need a beach fashion fix, or if you are just in the area, you should definitely check out their selection! You will find something unique that is a must-​have.

Awesome variety of TOMS shoes paired with great customer service. I was in and out in 10 minutes and even found a bonus pair for my daughter.
