Fit Pup

My dog and I LOVE Fit Pup! I have an older dog that is blind and needs some extra care while I am away traveling for work. Fit pup has been a blessing as I never have to worry about my dogs care while I’m away from home. I get daily updates via text on how things are going and my dog absolutely loves Kris! I’ve worked with them for some time now and for my money Fit Pup is the best pet sitting service in Austin and I’d give them 10 stars if I could!

When my dog Patsy Cline (boxer) found out about Unilocal and how we can Unilocal reviews about any business or service, she got really excited and did her typical boxer «kidney bean /​horseshoe dance» on her tippy toes. She insisted that we Unilocal about Kris @ Fit Pup and express how much she loved the friendly and quality service, she refuses to go with anyone else.
So here’s what my dog Patsy Cline had to say in her first official Unilocal Review about her favorite Petsitter, Kris @ Fit Pup:
— Kris doesn’t view her time with me (Patsy) as a task or a job or a to-​do list, she genuinely treats me like I’m her own pet with lots of love and care. That make me so happy and feels so good!
— The time we spend together is quality — — never a rush or bunched up with a lot of other pets at the same time. That way I get ample quality time to play and Kris one-​on-​one as she’s 100% focused on interacting with me. We play fetch or throw the ball around and even go for walks. I always come back really pooped.
— It’s an excellent return on investment, or as my owner puts it, great «bang for the buck». Kris’s prices extremely reasonable and competitive, and I agree that he gets more value for his money. He said he did some research on prices and she was the lowest in the area — — kewl beans!
— Flexibility and responsiveness: my owner had to call Kris at the last minute to schedule a walk due to changes in his work schedule and Kris was very responsive and fit our walk in the same day — — awesome! I was so happy to see Kris that day cuz I was about ready to leave a nice present in my cage for my owner — — you know, the kind you gotta clean up.
— They’re friendly and sweet: Like I said, she treats me like I’m her pet, and I’ve been around to see her with other pets and she treats them all the same, with lots of love and care. You can tell Kris really loves animals.
— Doublemint Twins: Oh BTW — you’re not drunk or having double vision — there are 2 of them! Kris and her twin sister!
Kris = Best. Petsitter. EVER!

If you’re looking for a pet sitting service or dog walker, look no further than Fitpup. They are simply outstanding. Kris is great with animals and it obviously shows. Every time my dog Zelda sees Kris she goes out of her mind with excitement! Kris is always punctual and yet very flexible if you need her to take care of your pup in a pinch. In addition, Kris sends a text, picture message, or email whenever she comes over to show you how your dog is doing during the day, which is really great for putting your mind at ease. She has pet-​sit for Zelda over a weekend and also taken her on walks. All of Fitpup’s services are priced very reasonably and they do a great job. I’d recommend them to anyone!

I totally agree with the other 5 star reviews. I have had two dogs in Austin over a period of 13 years (and 8 houses in different areas of Austin) so I’ve had experience with a lot of pet sitters. At least 8… maybe 10. Kris is by far the best. She loves loves loves dogs!
When I had other pet sitters/​services, I’d worry that maybe they’d forget to show up or they’d lose my key (this happened once!), but I never had that worry with Kris. And she always sent an email or text when she went by and told me what she and Rocky had done. It was so nice that I didn’t have to worry that Rocky was miserable or sad while I was enjoying myself on a beach. I knew that he’d had a belly rub and some couch snuggling time with Kris or a walk or that he’d done his happy dance :)
She’d been sitting Rocky for about a year when he was diagnosed with cancer. During his last month, Kris was such a wonderful help. I needed someone to come by once a day while I was at work as he needed some extra help getting around and I was, of course, worried about him a lot. It was great to know that someone with a lot of love for him was checking up on him and giving me an honest report of how he was doing. And Kris was super sweet about getting tons of texts from me during the last week when I was agonizing about whether it was time to let him go or not.
Call Kris! You will be so happy that you did. And keep her in business so that when I decide I’m ready for a new dog friend, she’ll be around to snuggle with him or her too :)

Completely agree with both reviews — Kris is THE BEST. We had been thinking about hiring a dog walker to take our Great Dane on walks a couple of times per week, but like most dog owners, we are a little obsessed with our dog and making sure she is safe. I really lucked out when a neighbor suggested Kris with Fit Pup. She is really AMAZING. Our Great Dane is super excited for the days that Kris comes over to take her out and Kris is so sweet to send a daily email recapping what happened on their walk.
I ABSOLUTELY recommend Kris to anyone looking for either a dog walker or sitter. We haven’t had a chance to use her as a dog sitter, but wouldn’t hesitate should the occasion arise.

Seriously! Kris is THE BEST. She goes waaaayy beyond someone just letting your dog out to pee. She LOVES the animals and it totally shows. My dogs love her. I have NO worries they are safe and in good care. She calls me if there is anything amiss at my home. I can shut my brain off and enjoy my vacation, knowing things are in control. I love Kris and I love Fit Pup Austin. I have used other services before and they do not even come remotely close.

Kris (the owner of Fit Pup) is wonderful. I use Kris for daily dog walking while I am at work. She is reliable, trustworthy, and my puppy loves her. She leaves a daily note of how the visit went and keeps her eye out for any unusual behaviors from my dog (i.e., overly tired, potentially sick). I would not hesitate to recommend Kris to any of my friends.

YOU WON’T FIND A BETTER PET SITTER IN AUSTIN (OR EVEN THE WHOLE STATE!)
I stumbled across the services of Kris (the wonderful owner of Fit Pup) a couple of years ago when I desperately needed some last-​minute pet-​sitting. I just happened to ask a neighbour if he knew of somebody who could help me out, and he mentioned Kris. Over the years, I have been incredibly impressed by Kris’s services, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. In fact, I doubt you would find a better petsitter anywhere.
The first thing you will notice about Kris is just how well she gets on with animals. She is one of those rare individuals who knows how to communicate with them, and make them feel comfortable. I had one other petsitter before Kris but she had a very gruff manner, which scared ME let alone my neurotic chihuahua! This woman told me that my chihuahua was so nervous that it would be better if I boarded her in hher own house, but this was just nonsense. Kris was able to bond with my dog with no problems very quickly because she is a gentle, kind person.
The very first time I used Kris’s services, a neighbour across the street told me once I got home from vacation that she had seen her out in my yard, playing with my dogs. The neighbour said she did a wonderful job. This was very reassuring for me because it’s always scary to leave your pets and the keys to your home with a stranger. My neighbour’s comments just proved to me all the more that Kris is an amazing petsitter.
I got married last month, and Kris went above and beyond the call of duty when «somebody» (probably my landlord) entered my house when I was gone. Whoever it was left the door unlocked and freaked out my pets, and Kris went out of her way to contact my husband and I at our hotel to make sure we knew what was going on.
Kris has also been amazing at dealing with my pets’ special needs e.g. applying cream to my cat’s paw when he had ringworm and paying special attention to any of them that were sick.
On her final visit, she always leaves a detailed note, giving you a report of her time with your pets. Your animals aren’t just a way for her to make money. It’s obvious that she genuinely cares about them and their well-​being, and she remembers everything about them… all their little quirks, and likes and dislikes.
Need I say more? This woman is a fantastic human being, and an amazing petsitter! You’d be a fool to hire anybody else to look after your animals!
