Fly Lake Austin

It was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done! It’s so popular, he was all booked up on Saturday, so Ed went ahead and came in on Sunday so we could do it, and I’m so glad he did! Highly recommend as an Austin activity! So fun and bragging rights!

This was one of the most fun and unusual things I’ve ever done! Floating 15 feet above the water is really surreal in a fantastic way.
It takes a few tries to get out of the water, but it’s surprising how quickly you pick it up. Within a couple minutes I was in the air balancing stably. Also, you don’t start off 15 feet above the water — you gradually work the way up as you get more comfortable. The throttle is controlled for you so all you need to do is focus on your balance.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is even remotely considering it. I did the flyboard, but you can also do the jetovator, which I think is more stable since there are 3 jets instead of 1.

I would highly recommend them, they were awesome and I had so much fun!!! I came here a few days ago while visiting my parents. Ed was a cool guy, very professional and cordial. He was really good about making sure that we had fun and got lots of value; in fact, he let me stay in the water for nearly twice the time we paid for!!! (The people after us were a bit late showing up.) I recommend them highly and will probably bring friends to go here again — it was a ton of fun!
The flyboard thing itself is pretty cool — it’s like balancing on a snowboard, but 15 feet in the air with water shooting out underneath your feet. Sort of like that game, Mario Sunshine! I had a few runs where I was doing well but bellyflopped in the water a lot :)
All in all it was a lot of fun and I highly recommend them! The perfect way to spend a hot summer in the water in Austin!

I just threw my husband a birthday party with Fly Lake Austin. We happened to be traveling during his birthday and several of our friends were traveling too and others lived here. We signed up for the corporate party package with the pontoon boat. We had a blast. From the get-​go, Ed was incredibly responsive to my emails and provided me with all of the information I would need to get this organized. The day of the event Ed was there early, ready to go. The instructions were great and the riders had a blast. We brought on some food and cupcakes and cheered each other on. The staff was friendly and chatted with us and answered our ridiculous questions about them and the equipment.
I would HIGHLY recommend this experience!

This review is long overdue!
I bought my boyfriend a Flyboard lesson for his birthday last year. I didn’t want to buy an additional lesson just for myself, but was worried it would be awkward if he was the only one who tried it. Ed arranged a custom package for me so I could try it as well and made it the perfect gift!
Also, he was incredibly accommodating of our crazy schedules. I had to cancel on him multiple times and he was always very kind and willing to reschedule. When a storm left debris in the water, he recommended we wait (traveling to the lake to send me pictures of all the dangerous sticks). He was then even willing to provide wetsuits if we wanted to go when it got colder, but was equally fine with our decision to wait for spring time warmer weather.
He was very personable when he took us out and allowed us to challenge ourselves on the board as much as we liked. He’s also understanding of wanting to get lots of good pictures (without getting your phone wet). It’s fairly easy to catch on and if you go more often, it seemed like he could teach you some pretty cool tricks.
Definitely recommend to anyone looking for an adventurous gift or just a fun day on the water. Such a cool experience!

What a fun day! Ed was able to accommodate my schedule and he talked us through using the Flyboard and Jetovator. It was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone that loves water sports or someone looking for something unique.

Amazing experience, Ed and Tayler were great, best people to explain you everything, I tried both machines, they are both great! I recommend it to every age and day:)

My dad and I drove down from Oklahoma City with a friend for the First Annual Polar Bear Flight on New Years Day. We had a blast! Ed and his son, Conner, did a great job of teaching us how to get up and progress on both the Flyboard and the Jetovator. The water was extremely cold, but the comradery of the group of people we were with made the trip completely worth it. We had a great time and cannot wait to try it out again (maybe in warmer conditions next time.)

My boyfriend surprised me and made a reservation for the both of us to go fly boarding for our anniversary. At first it seemed pretty intense but with the help of courteous staff we picked it up pretty quickly. It was honestly so much fun and such a thrill.
Most of us would agree saving money is always good. Therefore paying an additional fee for an introductory course is unnecessary and unlike most places, one of the perks of fly lake Austin is that the additional fee is not required. They also offer group discounts which is a great incentive to bring friends!

Fly Lake Austin is one of the coolest things I’ve done since moving to Austin. Somehow I’ve managed to live here for almost a year without going to a lake and this was a great way to experience Lake Austin for the first time!
It’s hard to explain what you’re doing but the pics sum it up pretty well. There are two machines, either the Flyboard or the Jetovator. The Flyboard straps you in, kind of like a snowboard. You straddle on the Jetovator in a squat position, without sitting down. I only tried the Jetovator. Once you’re balanced, the water jets shoot you up into the air. After that you focus on keeping your balance. Once you get it down you’ll literally be flying above the lake. You can turn, zig zag, spin, flip and control your height and speed during the entire fly.
It’s kind of workout. Crashing into the water, squatting for 10 or 15 minutes straights, keep your core tight, trying to roll into the right position can be exhausting. But it’s incredibly fun, especially for a group. Prices depend on how much time you reserve and how many people you have. I think our group of 10 $ 65/​person for a little over 2 hours.
This is a great way to spend a few hours on the lake. I’m dying to go back before summer ends.
