My mom and I came in for a late lunch and honestly I was not dressed for this type of place. I do have to note that we just stumbled upon this place and were not expecting it to be this type of place so that’s my excuse. Its pricey. Considering my attire, again I was not expecting the prices. HOWEVER, the food is delicious, above the rest. I ordered a grilled freaking cheese sandwich. It was the most gourmet grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had. My mom order chicken florentine. Superb. We were suckered into dessert, and ordered the Crème brûlée with chocolate mousse and caramel ice cream. Waitress notified us that everything is made from scratch and you can taste it. My only complaint is that the waitress informed us that everything is made to be spicy and my mom and I can’t take the heat. She did say, since everything is made from scratch, menu items can be made to be not so spicy. If you love spice, this is your place!

I’ve been in here a couple times for brunch. Both times the food was awesome. The Belgium waffles are amazing even though I can’t have them anymore since I’m GF. They do have lots of GF options though.

Stopped in for a quick pint but will return for the whole experience next time. The food smelled delicious. The place is very inviting. The atmosphere is just awesome. We sat at the bar and had a great time talking with new people and the bartender was cool. Can’t wait for the next trip.

I intended to post a five star review, but changed my mind after my last few visits. The food is great and the brunch menu is very imaginative. Unfortunately, the environment dampens the excitement created by the stellar cuisine. The service has become horrible. Many of the staff do not understand the menu, are inattentive, and often unfriendly. One example was almost laughable: Our last waitress was an older lady who had just moved to Austin. She actually checked the math on our checks to make sure we tipped enough for her preference. We will not sit with her again. I am not sure if this is an acceptable social standard from where she lived before, but none of our party was happy about this. Also, the Jazz brunch on Sunday sometimes has a tuba. Yes, a full blown tuba next to your table in a small area with a hard floor and a small dining area. It is not soothing for a post Sat night brunch and table conversation becomes a yelling match. Overall, the place has great food and is designed well. The issues are easily fixed with good management decisions. That is why I will keep my 3 star rating and crossed fingers. I would love to see this place mature to its potential.

Love this place. Been passing it for a few months when I decided to swing in with a date for a drink and some apps. Glad we did. Enough so that have been backntwice since with no dissappointment! The mini lamb cutlets are delicious, quail is equal, lobster mac rocks, had some wild pork puffs(?) were pretty good too. Even if tou normally dont eat brussel sprouts, you’ll likely love theirs! Give em a try! Drinks are good, beer cold, and even when my beer recomendation for my date wasn’t appreciated by her, they brought her something else immediately without question! Great service! Keep it up, and you’ll continue to see me at a N Austin /Lakeline Mall secret hotspot!

Ate brunch at 2:00 and had not eaten anything when I arrived. My husband ordered Chantilly Waffles and I had Traditional Eggs Benedict. We split both meals and it was a lot of food. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the waffles were light and crispy with fresh strawberries and this amazing warm maple syrup. It came with whipping cream but that took a backseat compared to the rest of the dish. It was just the best waffles we have ever had. Yummy yummy yummy. The eggs Benedict came with a side dish of sautéed potatoes and peppers but was a little heavy on the oil! Hopefully, they will be consistent in their food and service and the potatoes will improve. I will return again. 1÷3÷16 Took my family to eat the waffles I have raved about. There were 6 of us eating waffles. It is a real disappointment to get the most perfect waffles and bacon only to be served cold syrup! Please please find a way to warm your maple syrup before bringing tithe table. Make your customers happy.

My wife and I are on a mission to try a new place every time we go to dinner and I have to say that we should have skipped this one. The place has a cool look to it and our waiter was nice(though not very attentive) but the food is meh. I had the Kobe burger and I hate to say it but that was a waste of beef. It was flavorless and boring. My wife had the salmon and thought it was ok but didn’t like the Caesar she ordered(the Caesar dressing was weak sauce). If I could have given a 2.5, I would have. If you are going to charge that much, make it worth it. I had heard good things but that was a let down.

I was pleasantly surprised. I have avoiding this place for a year or so. It looked a little Too much for me. But I was wrong! Great server at 1 on Monday and she knew the menu and drink list. And she wasn’t annoyed by our loudness. It’s pricey for me, but I’d go again.

First time visit and I will be back. Went for lunch. Staff was attentive, and helpful(thank Shanna) We had the Cobb Salad, Lunch Portion Salmon and the Cubano(no appetizers) Each dish was great… I had the Cubano served with kettle chips. The Sandwich was good, tasty, not to greasy. The kettle chips were crispy, and with just enough flavoring that did not overpower your tastes buds. will be back… they have a decent lunch menu… not to expensive, more middle of the road.

Hmm, what to say about this place… The location and décor ate both great. The service was decent. The menu is okay. It is on the pricier side of things and bedsides décor and service, I don’t think the food was that great compared to the price. Could be a nice place for a date but with the price, I don’t know if it is an every week end place. Also, the wine we had was great!

I know I should be liking this place a lot more than I do, and the final checklist here must have looked amazing: A dazzling renovation, trendster sports bar, upscale dining, hip & cool menus, live music weekends — all the shiny components in one slick package. But I think that’s what makes it a little too«We are the World» for me — if I say Odd Duck or Opal Divine, you know what we’re going for. But if I say Foxhole Tavern, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? I’ll bet the response is different every time you ask. Yeah, there’s a fine line between being subjective & being lame, and I’m probably crossing it with this review. The happy hour tacos & dinner menu sliders are good here, I like cloth napkins, and my service has always been quick & attentive. The brunch & drink menus and game day tv’s look interesting. And I could have left it at that. If the entertainment committee says Foxhole Tavern is the next group destination, wait for the pause, and then go along with the acquiescence of okays.

I drive past this sign a lot on my way to work and to be honest, I always thought it looked a bit cr*p. I’m always a bit allergic to anything which looks like it’s trying to replicate a british pub in a new building(don’t get me started on how sad that Baker Street place makes my soul. so. so. sad. inside). But after watching a game at the CedarPark centre we all piled over here for celebratory appetisers and cocktails and I was extremely pleasantly surprised. 10 of us were quickly seated and speedily served drinks. A pretty entertaining live band was going strong and our server(Elliot I think?) was very on the ball. The oysters were fresh, the lamb bites were good, the lobster mac and cheese was pretty small for $ 18 and the cheese plate was mixed(some of it had definitely been over refrigerated) but the Brussels sprouts were excellent. Maybe it was the post win euphoria, but I had a seriously great evening. Definitely a drink spot to bookmark if you’re hungry this side of town.

I have mixed emotions about this place. The atmosphere was pretty cool and the reason for being there was to say goodbye to a dear friend who is moving away. And it was a nice evening spent with fellow Unilocalers. Nice. However, the service was almost comically bad. One friend at our table ordered a burger during happy hour and nearly an hour later, he inquired about said burger. The server stated something to the effect of «I can probably still order that now.» Ummm… okaaaaayyyyy. Weird. And I waited quite a while to get the guy’s attention to take my order. My experience: anyone who knows me knows that I’m a super picky eater. I simply will not eat what I don’t like. And the things I like, I really like. That being said, I always scrutinize a menu for things I know I will eat(meaning ingredients or components I like or don’t hate). Simple enough. So… I order the flatbread pizza that’s supposed to have cheese, garlic, basil, tomatoes & olive oil. I have seen my friend’s version of said item and realized they mean balsamic instead of olive oil. I’m ok with that. So I order it, minus the tomatoes. What comes out, and the server explains is a pizza covered with baby greens, no basil. Seriously? Baby greens are in no way a substitute for basil in my book. He explained that they were out of the micro basil(???) and they substituted baby greens instead. My reaction? Yuk! Why would they not put regular basil on it? So I refused it bc it’s NOT what I ordered. They did replace it, but with the basil & balsamic on the side. Weird. If I wanted to assemble my own dinner, I would have eaten at home. Anyway, the flatbread was pretty good, a bit over cooked and the garlic was not distributed evenly… that last piece could have scared off a vampire. But it was ok. What made the night so memorable and fun was Errol messing with my water glasses making sure they were perfectly arranged in front of me. He said it was an Asian thing, and I laughed because I knew exactly what he meant. I made sure to properly place my 2 water glasses back in their perfect little spot. I wasn’t super impressed with the happy hour selections. The place is nice enough and I’m sure our server was busy. I think there are better places for HH nearby. I would meet people here if that’s where they wanted to go, but would not suggest it myself.

I’ll admit, I was reluctant to try The Foxhole out because the outside of the Resturant doesn’t seem welcoming, they have absolutely no marketing plan and, the name of the Resturant seems less than descriptive… Culinary Tavern. My first impression was wrong. This place has a great cocktail menu, a reverse happy hour and offers live jazz music. Where else can you find these combinations in North Austin? Our server, Kaleb, was great… personality, knowledge about the menu and basic knowledge about Austin things i.e. ACL(we were there after week two of ACL). It was a bummer the kitchen didn’t serve food after 10pm… not even pub food! The 3star rating is because the lack of food at a «Culinary Tavern» at 10pm at night during ACL weekend.

So, on this visit I ventured to the burger section of the menu. Allowed the waiter to make my selection since they all sound great. He suggested the Japanese Cowboy Burger. Cooked medium rare, it was the perfect choice. The combo of flavors went well with the Belvedere martini. And those potato chips are hard to resist. Mmm… so good. Now the only issue I had was the dirty martini glass I had received. Fortunately it was at the base of the glass. Yeah, my wishful thinking… but the alcohol should kill it, right… LOL Hopefully the servers will do a little quality control in the future. 4 star — good –1 for dirty glass

A friend and I came here for lunch and shared orders of their deviled eggs, skilled fried steak and house burger. Nothing was bad, nothing was great. Each were good. I did like the burger best and they did a great job cooking it medium rare. The steak was reminiscent of country fried steak TV dinners I ate as a kid that I’m determined never to have again. I’m not sure how to make that dish taste otherwise though. The place is designed well and service was good. They have multiple TVs too if you’d want to come here, eat, and catch a game. It doesn’t necessarily feel like a sports bar, and that may work depending on what you’re looking for. There isn’t much from this first experience that would bring me back, but if a friend wanted to come I probably would.

This has been on my list for a while but this would be considered a sometimes/special occasions restaurant for me or happy hour since the prices a little more affordable for me. This is a great farm to table place with great and locally sourced ingredients. Happy hour is how I ended up here. I was meeting a group of girlfriends and we were going to check out there Social Hour aka Happy Hour. The place is modern décor with a little swankiness but still has a nice chill atmosphere. Having been out so much in Austin it was a bit of suburbia shock coming here. It’s not a bad thing but just a very different crowd being in Cedar Park. I was the first one there and settled in a booth. For Social Hour there’s a special on Wine, Cocktails and Beer. The Foxy Mule caught my eye. It was mix of two of my favorite things Moscow Mule with St Germain and a Serrano Pepper for a little kick. It was served in a copper mug which I was super stoked about. This was a great refreshing drink. St Germain is one of my favorites so it added a nice twist the traditional Moscow Mule. When the ladies got there we literally ordered one of everything on the Social Hour menu. There was four of us and we were all up for sharing and trying out lots of things. Texas Bibb — farm tomato, onion, gorgonzola, crisp bacon, buttermilk blue cheese This is a great salad. A modern twist on the wedge salad. All great fresh ingredients and who doesn’t love crispy bacon and gorgonzola. Fork & Knife Onion Ring — srirachannaise, house made balsamic ketchup This is no joke. These onion rings are ginormous! You really do need your fork and knife. These were nicely fried in a light batter. Almost tempura like. Grilled Tomato Wild Flatbread — mozzarella, provolone, fresh basil, garlic, olive oil Grilled Meat Connoisseur Flatbread — beef tenderloin, bacon, pepperoni, mozzarella, provolone, hearty marinara These were like pizzas and both excellent. Again really great fresh ingredients. I loved that the pepperoni and bacon got really crispy on the flatbread. Marinara was hearty and it tied it all together. House Burger — ground blend of brisket, chuck, sharp cheddar, bibb, farm tomato, onion, pickle, served with house-made kettle chips This is what a burger should taste like. This was split four ways so we each got a taste. The burger was moist and the cheese was a great addition. Everything matched so well. Even the kettle chips were great. Skillet Venison Sliders — open faced, pickled jalapeños, carrots, jalapeño gravy This was a bonus order. We wanted to try one more thing so we went for it. I’m not a huge fan or exotic or game meats but I had to try. I don’t know how else to describe venison but it’s a tougher meat. Not that it’s a bad thing it’s just gamier. This was like chicken friend steak on sliders with gravy. It was so good. Jalapeño gravy was great. Cream gravy with a little kick. One of the best parts of this whole experience was our server. I should have written this review earlier so that I could remember his name but he was absolutely fantastic. I think his name was Preston… He was so attentive and very friendly. He came in to check on us regularly, we always had drinks and water. One of my friends that was with us that frequents this place said that he had been her server a couple of times and he was absolutely wonderful. It’s nice to know that there’s a really great quality restaurants in the suburbs among all the chains and ordinary food places. Happy hour is really great and I will definitely hit that up again.

Met an outstanding group of Unilocalers here for lunch today because Phillip B said they had tasty burgers. And they do have tasty burgers. Although they may not be as tasty as Samuel L Jackson’s Big Kahuna burger, they are still tasty nonetheless. Unlike typical chain restaurants, you can order your burger cooked to order. I like mine medium rare. And my burger did In fact come out medium rare. Phillip ordered his medium well and said he will try it medium rare next time because there were no, well, juices. Medium rare is the way to go here. They have a band here a few times a week at night. I was here one night when the band was playing and Found that the loudness and type of music they were playing suited this restaurant during dinner. Nice, upscale restaurant. I’ll be back during happy hour for the HH menu tacos.

I enjoyed one of the best tasting and most memorable meals of my life here. A party of 7, we gathered for my brothers birthday. Dinner and drinks. Our server was amazing from the get go, I think his name was Jeremy. He happily recommended another wine for me when they were out of the Riesling. He also brought me a small sample. It was just as he described, bonus points for knowing your wines, homie. He also helped my extremely picky mother settle on a drink she would enjoy. Parents: this place is kid friendly. Great pizza. It’s an extremely tasty flat bread pizza that I kept sneaking bites off. ** Attention oyster fans** They had the freshest oysters I’ve ever had away from the gulf. The also have a kicked up horseradish that will melt your face. The food was FANTASTIC. My brother had the Texas Lamb Shank that tasted like the most amazing pot roast you’ve never had because no one makes it that amazing. My fish was so freaking buttery and amazing our whole group is still talking about it.(it was the special. I cant remember the name. I’m so sorry) My sister in-laws had the Woodfire Grilled Tenderloin Filet. It was cooked to perfection. Absolutely delicious. My father had the Grilled Quail Breast Salad. It was a very large salad. The quail was quite good and i’m normally not a huge fan. Cheers to the ninjas in the kitchen doing some crazy ninja stuff to the food. For desert we had a «smore». It was a deconstructed smore with ginger snaps. Liquid chocolate goodness. The bill was… high. But it actually was worth every penny. Cheers to Foxhole for doing it right. And cheers to our server, Jeremy, for being so fluid and attentive. I WILLBEBACK.
