Fulmore Middle School

This is an awful school. The admin cares more about looking good on paper than supporting their teachers and enforcing the rules. Kids skip class and roam the hallways, cussing out teachers and other students as they pass, and receive no consequences. They also track students so that all the SPED kids are paired with the kids who didn’t pass the STAAR the previous year, which I’m pretty sure is illegal and definitely unethical. It is not a diverse learning environment because they group all students into categories. So yeah, the whole student population might be diverse, but the individual classes are not. The admin also refuses to send any teachers to training. The kids don’t even respect the principal– they run away from her and give her fake names. The admin needs to step up their actual rule enforcement so that students have boundaries and can actually learn.

This is a better-​than-​average inner city middle school, with administration & staff who work hard to arrange everything around helping students succeed.
This school has complete fine arts offerings (band, orchestra, choir, dance, art, theatre), so the students have ample opportunity to apply their learning & express themselves in a variety of ways.
This campus is a magnet for what is called «law & government,» which is to say social studies, including civics & politics, and there is a program for gifted & talented students. Students can also stay after school to participate in the ACE program & continue their learning in fun ways.
There are some wonderful teachers & staff on this campus, though some of them might seem a bit gruff or grumpy at times. What can one expect when some students will not respond constructively to any other manner? It seems natural to grow weary of constant needless opposition from certain students. Like many other schools, students can often behave as if they are disinterested, and they can appear disrespectful & troubled.
The cafeteria food offerings are very basic, with few frills. The cafeteria supports basic student nutritional needs & offers very affordable meals to staff, as well.
