Why is this place still in our neighborhood? Nothing about says good Mexican. At best it is edible. The queso doesn’t even taste like cheese, the tacos are as fake as a cardboard box and the drinks are mediocre. Please can we just replace the place with something else. This place does not fit into our Crestview neighborhood — it is definitely fit for a campus location where kids are looking for a cheap meal at 1am.

9⁄10 score. The food was good and the staff was friendly. I like that they have $ 2 Lonestar chalices of beer and on Mondays is Margarita Madness, where their margaritas are $ 2. I ordered one of their«daquiri margaritas» and it had some kick to it, which I liked. Also, on THU they have trivia night, which seems like it could be a fun time. Weekends they have mimosas for $ 1, AFAIR. The place is located near Black Star and I dislike that this is in a shopping center(gentrified part of old Austin which takes away from the character), but that’s not Fuzzy’s fault. That’s more of the story with Austin nowadays, However, the area around the place is cool, as you can get a feel of how the area used to be before the old buildings were knocked down and the high-rises were built. I’d like to return in the future.

Just had dinner and a few drinks. Manager /owner walked up to us and asked our experience. We were the most out of place dinners in the place.(old) we had a great conversation and told him the food was better than any Mexican — taco restaurant in Alaska I ever ate. We talked about varies issues but came back to his costumer service and he sincerely wanted our opinion. Hands down great manager /owner. Fast, great food. Was geared to younger customers but cannot say enough good things. Wish them all the best. Hope they come to Alaska. If more business models would emulate them the gastro world would be a better place. Went to other well known restaurant in Austin today and bs to explain the waitress the difference between Bloody Mary and Caesar.(Clamato) Except V’s cellar in Juneau. She is also on it.

Unbelievably good. I had beef nachos and I almost cried from how good they were. Amazing experience, will be back… Food was outstanding. The trivia lady sucked though.

I have given this place several tries as it is so close to home. They are never on the mark. Queso is hot on top but cold at the bottom, they reheat but can’t get it right. Tortillas served cold and told it’s difficult to get them warm with tacos. Last night the keg had to be changed for the Dos, first beer great and the next two really watery tasting. Made it very clear to the server and was told it’s a beer that is very inconsistent, instead of trying to make it right. The clencher was the huge roach that ran out from under the booth and across the room. They thought that was funny. Just don’t feel they are too customer focused.

Best tacos I’ve had in Austin! The lady at the counter was very kind and displayed great customer service and was genuinely excited to tell us about the place. The tacos were amazing. The ground beef and shredded chicken had amazing flavor and the garlic sauce was on point! The price was unbeatable, it was less than $ 7 for a meal for two people. I could only get one taco at Torchys for that price. Can’t wait to come back for the breakfast tacos and the frozen Jack and Coke. Definitely a must try for anyone in the area.

We had a Fuzzy’s in our college town so having one basically in our apartment complex is great! They have pretty good happy hour specials and daily drink specials and late hours which is nice. The food is very reasonably priced. The salads are giant for only $ 6 and they don’t skimp on meat portions either. I like Torchy’s better but this is a great option within walking distance when I don’t want to pay $ 4 for a taco. Overall we like it and will continue to eat here frequently!

Decided to check out this place since it’s nearby. It turned out to be a delicious taco place with reasonable prices! I ordered the shredded chicken taco and the fish tempura taco. The shredded chicken taco was decent and the tempura fish taco I got was delicious! The fish was perfectly cooked and had great flavor. Also, their chips and salsa is really good so definitely splurge and get some! The place itself also has a really cool vibe. I’m not sure what was going on the night we went, but it was ridiculously loud inside of the restaurant. You pretty much had to yell your order just so the cashier could ring you up. However, they had patio seating which was infinitely quieter so it was totally fine. We also decided to check this place out for breakfast a few days later. My tip is to get the breakfast taco instead of the breakfast burritos. They are like 2.5x the price of the tacos and are only 1.5x the size(and you get the same ingredients). The breakfast burrito wasn’t bad, but nothing amazing. This place is definitely a place I will return and I can’t wait to try out their other lunch/dinner menu options. Also, they have a bar and the margs looked pretty tasty so I might have to check that out as well!

Stopped in around 11pm Saturday night for a quick bite and drink after softball. We are seated the bar. So the tacos are okay, the sides very lukewarm and very little favor. Worst was the slow and forget service from bar staff. Well she was so busy doing shots with her drunk«bro» friends that could barely stand up at the bar. One drunk big an was trying to buy shots for everyone at the bar… which she was happy to take his money. How does this place have a liquor license?

$ 3 giant margaritas on Wednesdays and $ 2 wells from 3 – 7. $ 1.99 shredded beef tacos. My tacos were good and the bar tenders were easy going. If I lived in this complex I would probably be here frequently. You can park for free in the parking lot within the complex(across from the restaurant) but there are a limited number of spaces. It seemed like they definitely need more parking but I was also there for a special event so maybe it isn’t ordinarily that crowded.

I had high hopes for this place after reading the Unilocal reviews; however my experience was lackluster. I came for lunch and ordered a two taco combo: one spicy pork and one tempura fried fish with cilantro lime rice and boracho beans. The main issue is the tacos were incredibly small, like finger food appetizer small. I think I would’ve liked the tempura fish taco, but there was one tiny piece of fish in it so it was kind of hard to tell. As for my spicy pork taco it was also very small and the pork was pretty dry and flavorless. The cilantro lime rice was pretty good and the beans were fine. Overall, I left feeling not very full for lunch. The prices are very reasonable, but I’d rather pay a dollar or two more to actually enjoy the flavors and feel full when I leave. Maybe today was an off day, everyone has one. Felt like I was sold on Fuzzy Wuzzy and then he had no hair.

Unilocal came through again, as I was looking for a something I haven’t tried before on lunch of the Tex-Mex persuasion… Bingo, Fuzzy Taco to the rescue. I came here for lunch and had the chicken and shrimp enchilada with the Latin fried potatoes and Mix Mexico fried rice. Total was just $ 6.49! Nice. My order took less than 10 minutes to be prepared and to my vs lsurprise it was delicious and the serving size was ample. This is a great value. My enchiladas was very tasty the shrimps cooked perfectly and devined. I also came here a second time for a breakfast taco, bacon, egg, and cheese and it was again a great size von the value. I will say oversized even for the $ 1.99 price I paid. I think I will be a regular, they have late hours, fast service, lots of seating room and TVs everywhere and outdoor seating. Service was decent especially since I came back after my first visit within 18 hours and had the same cashier and wasn’t acknowledged for returning so soon. However, it didn’t take away from my experience everyone has a bad day right? The lady was more engaged upon my first visit. I already recommended this spot to a couple people and look forward to trying out the other menu items.

Everything is fairly priced here and the staff is amazing. They move fast but are caring and treat their customers well. The food is spot on — I expected it to be terrible but it’s actually good. Fish tacos and pork tacos are my favorites. The nachos are great too. The current frozen drink is strawberry lemonade flavored and is perfect to drink while sitting outside I’m the Texas sun. I would definitely give them a go. You can go wrong with $ 2 tacos packed full of meat and toppings!

Best Tacos for the best price. Service is quick, and the staff is very friendly. The restaurant is very clean. I’ve been to this location twice, and each time was pleasantly surprised on how delicious their food is. I recently moved to Midtown Commons, and I’m pretty sure Fuzzy’s is where I’m going to eat the most. I’m going to get so fat. Also I love that they have an outdoor patio and a decent selection of drinks. I think they also host trivia nights and have happy hours.

I love me some Tex-Mex food! It’s even better when it’s affordable and there’s cheap drinks to go with it. I had heard about Fuzzy’s but had never been. I had some friends going to play trivia and originally I wasn’t going to but then my husband and I were hungry and decided to go surprise them. This place is counter service so you got order your food call your number. This place is brightly colored and decorated so it was a lot handle for your a first timer. When we went to the counter to order the very nice lady(I’m sorry I forgot your name) must have seen the overwhelming look on our face. She asked if it was our first time there. She was so nice and walked us through everything and answered all the questions we had. We got through all the food and then I couldn’t decide on a beverage. The frozen drink machines were hypnotizing me. I had flash backs of being in Vegas going to Fat Tuesdays for a frozen alcoholic treat! We ordered the spicy pork nachos to share. YUM! I loved how it had queso and shredded cheese on it. The pork was tender, spicy and flavorful. Everything was piled nicely and you could easily shift it around on chips for the perfect bite. For my drink I decided on the frozen drink of the month. I can’t remember it all it was something like mango, pineapple and something else with Vanilla Vodka. It was an interesting mix but it was tasty. Quick and easy to the point. Friendly staff, delicious hot, fresh food that has generous servings! Price is also pocket friendly.

Went here for lunch a couple days ago with some folks from work. Let this be fair warning to you — the parking for this place really sucks. We had to park in the ramp which is not very big and comes to an abrupt stop. The only spots left were for compact cars(all the spots seemed to be labeled for compacts) so when I managed to squeeze my mid sized car into one after three attempts we were left with VERY little room on either side. When we got to the restaurant I ordered a taco plate with a spicy pork taco, grilled shrimp taco, rice and beans and a soda. It was all around seven dollars which is a pretty good deal. I liked the pork taco quite a bit better than than shrimp taco which was only half filled. My coworker that ordered the tempura shrimp taco said he liked that one better than the pork so maybe the tempura variety is the way to go. The rice and beans were petty darn good too.

Ok Fuzzy’s I was wrong about you on my first visit; you do deserve more stars! I decided to try this place again being that it is close to my house and I was craving tacos(big surprise)! I decided to dine in and the staff was super accommodating and the manager on duty chatted with me for a while which was nice since I was there alone. I ordered the Queso and chips and also two grilled shrimp tacos on soft tortillas! Queso and Chips: The chips were dusted with what they call Fuzzy’s Dust and was a mixture between chili powder and a dried hot sauce flavor. The Queso was one that could contend with Torchy’s and I really loved the pico de gallo in the center! The perfect balance between too thick and too thin! Grilled Shrimp Taco’s: They were spot on this time and way better than last time! Not sure if it’s a new cook but the seasoning was better overall and they weren’t overdone! Margaritas: Cheap and effective at taking the edge off of your bad day is all I can say here! I will definitely be back now since they lit the Fuzzy’s Taco urge in my stomach!

The Austin Taco Scene has become a bit unmanageable – so many new places to try, it will surely take a dedicated Taco Lover at least a year to try them all. Four Unilocal Stars for three key reasons: affordability, simplicity, and freshness. Affordability: almost half the price of some of their fancier siblings(I’m talking about you, Torchy’s). Of course, you’re getting an entirely different product, but I don’t always want a super fancy taco with 89 different ingredients totaling one pound. Simplicity: what happened to folks being ok with a basic meat, cheese, and lettuce taco? Where did all the simple tacos go? They’re here, at Fuzzy’s. Lastly, freshness: you have to wait a hot minute for your tacos to be ready. That’s because they’re cooking them individually when they’re ordered. Staff is friendly, tons of seating for groups, a full bar, and a long menu(NACHOS! salads!) that I can’t wait to try more of. Oh, and their queso is pretty good. This is important enough to require it’s own line in this review. :-)

This place is fun! I am so ecstatic that I finally have a taco place in my complex! First of all, they’re open pretty early and stay pretty late. The margaritas are delicious(I recommend them frozen) and the burritos are to die for. I’d advise against their queso, it’s disgusting and tastes like cheese whiz. The guac was most certainly the winner there. The tacos are… ehh… good for when you’re hungry but, what do you expect with three dollar tacos? I recommend calling ahead for take out as it does take a bit for to go orders when you drop in. I dig the vibe and atmosphere though it is certainly not for everyone. It’s a bit more dallas sports bar-ish than I’d like but, the patio definitely wins that conversation over. The bar staff has been nothing but friendly and accommodating. Levi was great and brought my margaritas to the patio when I didn’t even ask. There’s another blond girl who works the bar at night who was also nothing but friendly and quick too! While I was at the bar late one night waiting on a friend, one of the employees who had been off of her shift was at the bar and seemed quite drunk. She was telling us how she lived cross town and had to wait 45 minutes for the bus, I recommended the other alternatives like über, lyft or even a friend who can give her a ride. She responded with«what do you care? you don’t know me» Welllll, so much for being a helping hand. It certainly left a bad taste in my mouth as I drink at work on a regular basis and don’t act that way when I’m just unwinding. Just thought it was worth mentioning as you may encounter this lady. Lol!
