I had a great time here. The service was great. The atmosphere was great. The food was awesome. It had a good buzz to it the night I was there as well. Highly recommended stop.

Although the food here is alright, and the service mediocre at best, the way the happy hour is done here is obnoxious. My friend and I wanted to split a brunch selection of breakfast tacos and both get mimosas. I’m not a cheap ass, but I’m in the industry and I know how much it takes to make mimosas. The fact that a mimosa went from two dollars to six just because we weren’t both getting a separate brunch selection is ludicrous. My friend and I don’t eat enough to get two plates and who wants to waste food? Next time I will not be choosing this as my brunch place.

My friends who live near the Domain wanted to come here for margaritas and I had low expectations since it was basically another«chain mall restaurant». We sat in their ample outdoor patio and I was pleasantly surprised with the really great service — order taken quickly, water refilled several times, free chips and bean dip refilled several times promptly. Most likely service was better since we went at an off time around 2pm on a Sunday and it wasn’t that busy, but who was I to complain? Everyone loved the free black bean dip and chips they give you. It definitely tasted fresh. My friend ordered a Strawberry margarita, and I ordered their Guava margarita — both were strong and tasted perfect, not too sweet. I ordered a Combo #2 for ~$ 15 which comes with a spinach chicken quesadilla, beef enchilada and chicken tostada. Decent portion size plate and while the quesadilla and enchilada were unmemorable, the chicken tostada had a huge amount of guacamole on it and was delicious. The modern décor inside was airy, spacious and the bathrooms were very clean. Between the good service, strong tasty drinks and that delicious black bean dip, it looks like I’ll be back to try their brunch and $ 2 mimosas!

This place always seems packed whenever we are at The Domain so we decided to give it a shot to see what all the hype was about. The restaurant décor is a bit over-the-top and hotel-ish, not very welcoming or comfy with too much open space and large seating areas with plastic table covers. The free chips and bean dip are great! The rest of the food lacked luster and was underwhelming. I tried the Shrimp Enchiladas which had a ‘chlorine-like’ flavor to them, this definitely made me a little concerned and question the quality of the food. The 5lbs of cheese sauce on top helped mask the weird flavor, kinda. My bf ordered the Carne de Res Asada Salvatex which he seemed content with, but nothing about it was mind-blowing. I also tried out the Fresh Guava Margarita because it was happy hour and was disappointed. I love margaritas and exotic/tropical fruit as much as the next girl, but this had a bizarre flavor that I couldn’t seem to pinpoint. Not to mention it was incredibly strong and looked nothing like a margarita. Our whole experience was very unmemorable, and now that we have gone I have no explanation for the large crowds that gather outside. I guess if you love sub-par food then this is your go-to.

Always love the black bean dip with chips. My friend and I probably ate three whole baskets of chips before our food came. The salsa is ok. I went with a large group and the service pretty good. Food came out slow but overall the waiter were very attentive… refilling chips and water consistently at the perfect time. Food can get quite expensive. Around 20 $ for the 8oz churrasco steak. Enchiladas around 12 – 16 $. The taste was spot on though. The atmosphere was pretty loud and dark. We went around 6pm and tables slowly filled up around us.

Used to be my absolute favorite! I would get the Tacos al Carbon and a margarita every time. I hadn’t been in a long time and had been on a healthy diet for some time now but I went last night and had the same meal I always had and I got pretty sick. My stomach hurt so bad and it didn’t stop until this morning. Take into account that I only ate ONE taco since I shared with my boyfriend and I had some chips and salsa/beans. Im think it goes to show that it’s an unhealthy choice although it might seem like it’s relatively more healthy than other places. I do have to say it was still delicious(as always) but I will not be coming back since it made me so sick.

Had a pretty good dinner here with some coworkers while on a business trip. Being used to traditional Mexican food, Tex-Mex food is usually pretty hard for me to get used to. It usually ends up just tasting bland to me, but the food here was pretty good. The sangria swirl margarita and jalapeño margarita were a pretty huge hits with my coworkers. Only complaint would be that there were not a great number of vegetarian options listed on the menu, but the server was very accommodating with helping me find a couple of options.

When I was living alone in Austin, working that job to pay for community college and rent, I would come here to get that taste from home. Their food reminded me so much of my mom’s Colombian cooking, even though the Latin American cuisine they offer seems to be mostly Salvadorian, it was similar enough for me to feel that bite of nostalgia. YEARSLATER, I took my mom here, and she APPROVED! This is a cute place to bring your mom. Great vibe, especially since it’s located at the Domain — a cute, low-tier classy outdoors shopping center. I ordered a Pollo Asado Combinado and my mom got a Churrasco Tipico. We were super happy to see that both of our plates included fried ripe plantains and fried yuca. My pollo asado(chicken breast) came out super delicious. My mom’s churrasco(beef steak thing) was«good enough for America», she said the best one’s she had was in Panama, but this one was pretty good too. Considering they give you free chips, you can potentially split a plate with a friend. My mom and I only ate about half of what we ordered since we ate too much chips(and great salsa). The service itself was great, nothing to complain about. I did appreciate that our server knew Spanish(and it seems most of them do!). I don’t see myself coming back here anytime soon, just because of distance, but when I do, I might just stop by to try their dessert menu.

Okay, I know most of the people who have commented here love their black bean dip. I am giving 1 star review because the restaurant guys did not warn me before that dip contains chicken variant as one of it’s ingredient. I have been vegetarian for my whole life and I don’t want to eat meat unless I really want to. I have been to other Tex-Mex cuisines but I always make it a point to tell them I am vegetarian and warn me if the food has meat. My server knew I was vegetarian and still I was served this one. All you vegans out there. careful!

My friend had her rehearsal dinner here, and everything is pretty good! I had a few drinks before hand, and they make a pretty rockin’ Mexican Martini! That’s not a thing outside of this area, and I’ve missed it so! I had the crunchy tacos(all beef, it’s what’s for dinner I’m told), and my husband had the 3 diff enchiladas(steak, chicken, and shrimp). I don’t really care for shrimp tacos/enchiladas, but I was really impressed with it. Everything was good, but It’s pricey(as are all restaurants in the domain), so I’m not sure I would seek it out unless it’s more for a special occasion.

I am moving from Madison, WI to Austin and will live near The Domain. Dined here late afternoon and was instantly impressed with the décor and gorgeous bar in the middle of the restaurant. The menu is phenomenal! From Soups, to Salads to Enchiladas, there is a lot of different dishes to choose from. Diners will be served complimentary chips, salsa and a black bean purée dip. I am willing to bet it had lard in it and considering I do not eat pork… I ate the entire cup. It was super, super good! I am pleased to say that when we finally move to The Domain in a week, we can dine at Gloria’s whenever we want. Highly recommend.

Sooooooo good! I love El Salvadorian food. We tried several items that sounded good and fresh. The day was hot and we came straight here from the airport. So hot and hungry and in dire need of something delish. First the service. It was bustling a BUSY but we were seated right away. The server came over about 5 minutes after we sat and apologized for the wait. Impressive. She had a gorgeous accent and was very attentive without being annoying during the whole time we were there. First we had the Gloria’s signature sangria swirl margarita. Really good and it’s a frozen drink. It’s also really strong So I could only handle the one. For apps we had the shrimp cocktail and orange roughy ceviche. The ceviche was so good. It’s served with fried plantain chips and I’ll probably have that as my meal next time I go. There’s the chips and salsa also served, and Gloria’s famous black bean dip. Yummmmmmm. For dinner I had a combination plate that had a papusa and tamale. I love the lightness of El Salvadorian tamales. Definitely recommend stopping here for lunch or dinner. Great service, great atmosphere, and great food. Totally a fan!

Hit up Gloria’s for brunch before leaving Austin. Gloria’s also has a location in Houston and I’ve been there at night when it transforms into a club but never for the food. There was about a 15 minute wait on a Sunday but once we got seated, the food came out quickly. The décor is nice and more spacious than the Houston location with a nice waterfall by the bar. The brunch menu consists of a large number of Mexican breakfast items(i.e. omelettes, huevos rancheros, and the like) and a couple Tex-Mex items. I had the breakfast burrito which comes with roasted potatoes, bacon or chorizo, cheese, and avocado along with pinto beans and fresh fruit. The burrito was so-so. It was pretty dry and definitely needed a sauce inside the burrito or a dipping sauce. The best part however, were definitely the $ 2 mimosas! You have a choice of the standard, a mango mimosa, or a pomegranate mimosa. Can’t beat that deal as they are regularly a $ 6 a pop! Service was good but I’d rather dance at Gloria’s.

I’ve tried Gloria’s on two different occasions on a Tuesday evening and Saturday evening. Both were an unpleasant experience for various reasons. However, the one recurring trait was the lack of service and attentiveness. Everything from being seated to ordering our food, to waiting for our check seemed to take forever. The Saturday evening experience was so loud that I couldn’t even hear the person talking in front of me, much less concentrate enough to eat. The restaurant seemed to be filled with loud boisterous patrons that had no concern for those seated next to them. This made the already average food even worse. Tuesday evening was a bit less crowded, but I made the mistake of ordering the highly touted fish tacos. I experienced some bad food poisoning(the only one out of a group of four) that had be confined to the bathroom for about twelve hours straight.

One of my favorite chain Mexican restaurants! Complimentary hot homemade salsa, black bean salsa, and chips when you’re seated. Ordered the queso, guacamole and brisket tacos – all were great! Brisket tacos were a little salty and didn’t have much to them, but they were still good. Sangria was yummy and pretty strong, but fresh. Happy hour is from 3−7pm and drinks are half off. Very clean bathrooms and restaurant. Didn’t have any wait when I came and there seemed to be plenty of seating. They have a great outside patio for dining if the weather permits it. Our server was very friendly and didn’t bother us too much! Gloria’s is known for their AMAZING brunch with large portions and $ 3 mimosas! They are fresh and so good!

What started out good turned sour! The restaurant was borderline empty and it took about 35 – 40 minutes for our food, could’ve been longer. The server seemed to have a severe case of A.D.D or maybe he was drunk after all it is Sunday Funday! On to the meal and adult beverages! I had the pollo la Mexicana with double rice instead of pinto beans. The food was amazing and had the right amount spice! The only thing I didn’t like about my meal is that the portions of rice were really small! I also had a swirl margarita! Man! It packed a lot of punch! The bartender wasn’t playing around today! I gave it 2 starts solely on the customer service of this place. I was 2 seconds from walking out the door, just as we were abt to stand up the server brought the food out. I wold not dine here again

Late night latin dancing and a great happy hour. I wanted sangria to start the evening. After popping in and out of several nice happy hour spots, I found out that it’s not that easy to find, at least on a happy hour menu. Glorias not only has very good sangria, their happy hour prices are low. We had dinner plans, so we didn’t order any food, but the chips and salsa were good enough that I filled up on way too many before dinner. Sitting outside on the patio was very pleasant. While I enjoy the dancing later at night, I have had mixed experiences depending on how crowded it is. When it’s packed, it’s hard to get a drink, and it’s common to be bumped into by drunk dancers.

Hubby stayed home and I went w/a friend to go shopping. We tried this place for lunch today while shopping at the Domain. Excellent food & service. I had the chicken flautas & my friend had tamales cooked in banana leaves. We shared. Both were fantastic. Even the coffee was good. Nice décor too. Would stop by again for lunch if I’m in the area.

The first time I tried Gloria’s was on New Years Eve 2014⁄15 and it was at the downtown location. While the downtown location has a much better décor(LOVE the bar downtown), I have always enjoyed my experience here. Very professional and attentive staff! The food is delicious! I’ve had the tacos de brisket and grilled quail and both were well made. Honestly, the quail has never disappointed and if I had to recommend any dish, that would be it. However, they also have great ceviche if you’re looking for an appetizer and I would honestly be open to most anything they have on their menu. During the weekend, they offer some tasty $ 2 mimosas. While this can be a lot of acid early in the day for some, I’d say give at least one a try. For $ 2, what have you got to lose? I recommend the mango mimosa, but it can be a little on the sweet side, so keep that in mind.

3.5 stars for food and a solid 4-stars for fun and drinks. This place is extremely social and loud so bring a large group of friends and enjoy yourself. I had the steak nachos and they were pretty decent. The nachos were not overly salty, the steak was tender enough, and the nachos came accompanied with a generous amount of guacamole and sour cream. I’ll be back.
