Gr8 Maids

We’re going on year 5 of working with these wonderful women and their 5 star rating still stands! Elizabeth and Athena are so warm, friendly, trustworthy, and most importantly, they do a great job every time! Athena is the best bed maker ever. I love getting into my perfectly made bed after they visit. Also, Elizabeth somehow magically cleans up all of the dog hair left over from my heavily shedding pug/​beagles. Gr8 Maids has my business for as long as I live in Austin.

I am a full-​time student and humble servant to 2 four-​legged fuzzy kids. During the semesters I have very little time to keep up with the fuzz bunnies. So, this year I decided to try using a maid service. I called around to many places and just felt good about this one. Plus the Unilocal reviews are great! Scheduling was easy, they were here a little early (better early than late), and they did a great job! Elizabeth and Tiffany were very professional and very detailed. This was my first try — so far fantastic! I definitely recommend giving them a go.

I recently moved to Austin and wanted to find a cleaning service I felt comfortable being in my home without me being here. Elizabeth was very easy to coordinate with (even after I changed the schedule fairly last minute) and was upfront and honest about her service. She works with a just a handful of women who help her clean so this is not a huge operation which made me much more comfortable with the thought of having them in my home without me present. The cleaning job was very thorough and I expect to continue to use them going forward for monthly cleanings.

They were very easy to work with scheduling-​wise. Once at my place, they were friendly and did a superb job. Compared to other companies I’ve worked with, their price is also very reasonable. I’d recommend them to anyone.

Gr8 Maids has been cleaning our home for about a year now. We recently moved and they came with us. Elizabeth is super easy to work with for scheduling and always very responsive. Athena and the other ladies who have done our house always do a really good job. They leave notes about what they did and anything out of the ordinary, and sometimes fun little surprises (like putting our sons stuffed animal on his rocking horse, which he thought was hilarious). It’s those little touches that make them stand apart. Plus, they are very reasonably priced. I highly recommend them.

Very impressed with Gr8 Maids. They did a fantastic job cleaning. Athena and Kayla lifted every knick knack off the shelf and had the place spotless when I got home. How wonderful to come home to a clean home! I’m a fan!!!

Scheduling is a breeze with Elizabeth. Athena is efficient, respectful, and thorough. I love coming home to my apartment after she’s been there — she makes my bed like a little envelope and it’s just the best thing ever.

Wanted to try out a cleaning service without paying an arm and a leg since we are only in a 2-​bedroom apt. Searched online until I found Gr8Maids and so happy I did! It was the other Unilocaler’s review that solidified our decision to try out the service– and so happy that we did!
Elizabeth was a champ for coordinating with me over emails and our crazy schedules. Athena & E did a fabulous job on the apartment. It needed a good scrubbing (believe me!) and they were quick and efficient without skipping and overlooking.

I’ve been using Gr8 Maids for monthly cleaning for the last 6 months or so. Its exactly what I need. They come in while I’m at work, do the job, and I come home to a sparkling house (which, as a bachelor, is a great feeling, btw).

We had 2 maids come over for approximately 2 hours, for a first time clean, and they did a great job! Upon review, things were sparkling and smelled great. We would work with them again and plan to schedule our next cleaning soon.

We first found Elizabeth and Gr8 Maids through a Groupon promotion and loved her right away. She is professional and personable and beyond trustworthy. It’s tricky to hire someone to work in your home as it is a such a personal space. Elizabeth gets the job done without feeling invasive or intrusive.
I am a bit OCD and clean my house myself daily, so I was mostly looking for the deeper bi-​weekly bathroom/​floors cleaning from a cleaning service. Elizabeth is always receptive to feedback and very conscientious about focussing on what I ask her to. She also usually checks back in to make sure everything was satisfactory.
I highly recommend her.

Elizabeth and her colleague did a wonderful job cleaning my condo unit.
They called before the scheduled cleaning to ask if they could come a bit early, to which I said yes. I appreciated that they called me to confirm rather than just showing up early and surprising me.
When they arrived, I gave them a tour of my home. They asked me if there were any important things they should know regarding my cleaning needs, and then they got to work. They finished in about two hours and were very polite and thoughtful throughout the cleaning process.
When they finished, they asked me to walk through my home and see if there was anything that they missed. They were very thorough with the cleaning, but missed a few minor things. When I pointed them out, they were very appreciative of my nit-​pickiness and thanked me for it. I liked that they didn’t make me feel guilty for asking them to go over some very minor misses. They cleaned everything I asked them to clean, and did a wonderful job at it.
I’d definitely recommend Gr8 Maids to others!

No one is perfect, but it’s the way we recover from mistakes that can turn a situation around.
The first time I used Gr8 Maids, I’ll admit I was skeptical. Simple things like setting the appointment were getting confused so I was worried I had bought into yet another bad Groupon deal. When the crew left after the first cleaning, my ²⁄₂ apt. looked better than before they came, but it wasn’t up to snuff based on the promises made. For example, the floors seemed like they hadn’t been cleaned at all. I emailed photos to the owner and she was very responsive saying that they would fix the situation.
In my next interaction, Elizabeth, the owner, personally came to do the cleaning. The place was spotless and overall, I really appreciated the gesture. While there are a few obvious things she could do to organize her business (better calendaring, phone service, etc.), you can tell she is a good person, really trying to make it work. I hope they can continue learning from set backs and delivering quality service.

Seriously, what is my problem? Why can’t I find time to clean my home? But truth be told… between owning my own business, 2 dogs, 2 cats and trying to maintain some sanity, I can’t. I’ve got excuses out the wazoo, but frankly, I’m just lazy.
My bathrooms are disgusting. My kitchen are disgusting. My dogs decapitate and de-​stuff dog toys and we find pieces laying around everywhere for months afterwards. My dogs leave dog hair everywhere. My cats leave cat hair tuffs everywhere. I can barely keep up with the dishes much less think about the cobwebs in the upper corners of my living room or dust on the fan blades. Seriously… we’re pigs.
That’s how it WAS… but then I found Gr8 Maids!!! Seriously… they were awesome. Within minutes my house was already smelling better. Within 2 hours it was shiny and brand new again. It was AMAZING. They showed up on time and got right to work.
The hardest part about this whole thing was ME giving in and realizing that I sucked at cleaning and needed help. That part took far to long. As soon as I made the call to Gr8 Maids the process was easy and worth every cent.
I won’t lie… I hid in my office the whole time they were there because it was embarrassing… but coming out of my office was like walking into a whole new house. I may actually start inviting people over again…
