Innovative, creative, and dedicated would describe this furniture builder. I have seen him turn even the simplest of designs into a work of art. I asked him to build me a set of bookshelves for my classroom, thinking just a basic set. When he was finished, I was in awe. They are my favorite part of my classroom. They are refined, beautiful, and far surpassed my expectations.

We also discovered Green Summit Studio during the EAST tour and we’re looking for an audio cabinet to buy. Derek had a cabinet in his studio that was designed how we wanted, but it was too large for our space. He made a custom design to fit the space and provided us with different stained woods before we made a final approval of the design. He provided a weekly update and delivered the cabinet sooner than he anticipated. Derek was great to work with and created a beautifully designed audio cabinet; I wish there was a way to post the image so others can admire his wonderful work.

I discovered Green Summit Studio while touring the East side artists studios in Austin this Fall. Of all the great art I had the pleasure to experience (literally hundreds of artists represented!), I felt the deepest connection with a very cool 9ft, back-​lit (neon) creation by Derek. I thought about it for a week or so and fortunately it was still available… sold! Since it is so large, Derek made a paper template and a special trip to help me decide where to mount it. About a week later, he and a friend delivered and installed it… great work, very professional. I am so happy with my Green Summit original art, I hope to work with Derek on a few custom items in the future.
